If they released a second larger wave a month later, and then a third even larger wave a couple months later, it would really frustrate the scalpers. Especially if they had a limit of 1 per customer or something like that.
At least in the short term. If they hold onto it long enough they will still be able to resale it for profit, and I don't see anything wrong with that.
The fact is, Nintendo has a problem with meeting demand for their products. Peop...

The SNES Classic could have been a great opportunity to release rare and hard to get carts in the US. Secret of Mana 3 was never released in the US.
Sim City was released on PC so that's not hard to get. I agree Chrono Trigger would have been a good pick.
Secret of Mana 3.
I agree but I think Prime 1 was a worthy successor to it. Prime 1 felt very true to Super Metroid and is one of the few examples where a game transitioned well from 2D to 3D.
But Super Metroid was IMO the superior game. It just did everything perfect. I don't think anyone could possibly change it for the better.
One guy said he never felt hesitant doing stuff or looking around in Super Metroid. IDK what game he played, but when I played Super Metroid ...
Hype article is over-hyped. It could be another flop like Other M.
And it could very well be because it's not Nintendo making it. It's being out-sourced just like Other M was.
I try not to be a pirate. I would love to own these games legitimately.
The SNES Classic could have been a great opportunity to legit sell rare and hard to get carts in the West. Earthbound and Mario RPG were great picks for this. They could have included other rare carts though.
Exactly 13.
They should have included Secret of Mana 3.
Yes I'm going to complain about this on every article about the SNES Classic.
Because no HDMI
Because cartridges are expensive (because of shortage resulting from not having been manufactured in like 20 years)
I want Secret of Mana 3 in there. It was never released in the West. It's one of my favorite SNES games and I'm sad that I have to pirate it to play it.
I'm happy with my 1080p display. I probably couldn't tell the difference between 1080p and 4k.
My 1080p display is 32 inches. I bought it for $350. If I can get a larger 4k set for cheaper I will upgrade.
Cost of cartridges and HDMI hookup. The SNES had composite and I think could also use the old coaxial cable. Not many new flatscreens support these.
Some of the cartridges are very expensive. Mario RPG is $50+. Earthbound is $100+.
Mario Maker.

You would think it would have access to everything the Wii Store has. It should.
I want the purple one. Look at those weird controllers. It looks like a clown exploded on it.
List has fracking Doom, a stupid overrated title you can play on PC and not Secret of Mana 3.
Someone slap the author please.
I do too. But it has to have Perfect Dark 64. There were a lot of good games on N64 but I played that one the most.
That and Ocarina of Time. I can't imagine them releasing a N64 classic without OoT though. It needs OoT and Perfect Dark.
It sucks because if you want to play Secret of Mana 3 and don't understand Japanese, you have to pirate it. This was an opportunity for Nintendo to release a long forgotten game in the West for the first time and they missed it.
If I could own a legit copy of Secret of Mana 3 I would have jumped on this. Fought for it. I WANT to own it and play it legit. But now I am forced to be a pirate.
Yo ho HO! A pirate I be.
Did Joe or his team work on Perfect Dark 64? Because if so, that's a hefty claim to make. Even 17 years later it's a better FPS than most.
