This is great new for MS and hopefully it will spill over into their battle with Google over internet advertising and internet productivity software, as I would like to see Microsoft lead in these categories. Also why all the MS hate. You may not like the 360 but at least give props for reporting great earnings year in and year out. Stop Hating
I think the article makes a really good point on the advertising. The PS3 had the same problem(not advertising the PS3) and I can't remember the last time I saw a Wii commercial that had a 3rd party title. People can only buy something when they know it exists. To think otherwise is pure foolishness.

I can't understand why MS would make an ultimate. This would only make sense if they created some kind of trade-in program for the existing 360's.

If I recall correctly Metacritic consists of player reviews. Reviewers have a tendency to be bias(some unintentionally) which would account for it "getting annihilated" wouldn't you agree?
While we might never see 100% i'll take 50% if the games will look twice as good as Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank.

So how many people are in the country you live in? I'm guessing a couple of hundred million. So that means you know maybe what less than a hundredth of the population. Yeah nobody got a PS3 christmas**end sarcasm**
I think it's highly unrealistic to think the PS3 can match the 360 in install base by the end f 08. I think it will sell more consoles and reduce the 360's lead but pass it? You know how many PS3 would have to be sold to catch up the 360(don't forget that it'll still move units)? Let's be serious and think about our statements people.

I hear your points and you make some good ones. I would have to say that I don't think the game is coming to the 360 because, despite what you said, it's been vehemently denied by the creator of the game and the company who holds the rights to release it on whichever system they choose, which was the PS3 not the 360. On top of that, Kojima has been proven to be a staunch supporter of Sony.
I'm pretty sure most of this money was spent on advertising and not development. Think about it:up until the game came out how many Halo 3 commercials or ads did you see? How often did you come across that Red Mountain Dew with Halo 3 on it? That being said don't hate: MS had it right. The more people who know about a game, the more people there are to buy it. This is the main reason why PS3 games aren't selling as well as they should be. You don't see any ads for them.
I would rather have a diverse library of games bringing in constant revenue than a couple of blockbusters. Quality over quantity.
It doesn't really matter seeing as how the game made $300 million in the first week. The cost of the games aren't the problem if it's quality and has a good of chance of having a great ROI.
Why in the world do you fanboys want one console to fail. Do you not realize that competition is what drives industry? And i've got to give it to you guys.. When it comes from the creator of the game that it's exclusive you don't believe it yet you'll believe a fan website? Explain to me how that makes sense?
Interesting but last I checked the lead wasn't widening, it was actually shrinking. Not by much but shrinking nonetheless.

I meant if you have a 360 they would take that one back and you would pay the difference between your 360 and the ultimate. Also when they send you the 360 back from rrod how long does it take?
