I agree, I don't think MS paid, I think Square decided to put it out on 360 in the US and EU because of the install base of the 360.

They actually said it themsevles, they felt the install base of the PS3 wasn't looking like enough in those territories to keep it exclusive. Which, imo, is a fatal business mistake by Square. If they'd have kept it exclusive in Europe and the US then you'd get those people who'd buy a PS3 for FF13 and thus increase the install base, then later on...

Rockstar did say the delay was not due to the PS3 version. They put the game back and developed the multiplayer, there was an article on here a while before GTA4's release.

Blaming the PS3 version was a 360 fanboy concoction last year, the time when the 360 fanboyism was rife on this site (TheMart being the main culprit), now that that's calmed down and the PS3 is [seemingly] doing better in the news everyone assumes the PS3 fanboys have taken over (Like this site is some kind ...

You can't compare this to a burger lol. First of all your bias is present even in that analogy. You've assumed that PSN would be on the floor, not just free, that analogy is flawed because of it.

It's more like being given a new Aston Martin to test drive, one person gets to try it out for free but the other has to pay for every mile they drive. That's more like PSN V XBL, while PS3 gamers are playing games online for free with their mates (most on dedicated servers) the 360 ga...

Attacking the competition is a sign that MS feel threatened. They used to hold claim to the best online service without challenge, now Sony have turned it around and are offering a service almost equal but the fact that it's free pushes it in favour of Sony.

Sony haven't attacked Microsoft's services, they've disagreed with statements and the way they go about their business, but they just retaliated to months and months of built up cheap-shots by Microsoft last year, you'd hav...

We all pay for our ISP costs already, MS want you to pay just to play online with others, that's ridiculous! It's like an MS representative coming to your door asking whether you pay to play online and upon replying they slap you with a wet fish. That's how much of an insult it is to gaming and MS know people like you will defend them so they can get away with it.

Other than cross game chat what has XBL got to offer for that seemingly 'worth it' $50?

3D Asteroids?
Third Person Shooter version of Space Invaders?
Table Tennis: The New Breed?
GTA5?
GTA4 - Liberty City Stories... again?

Am I at all close in my guesswork?

Could it possibly be TS4? "Following on from Haze, Free Radical are going back to the great TS series and making it better than ever. Exclusive to PS3..."

At least, that's what I think they'd say :)

We all know TS4 is coming, but exclusive to PS3?

...the new Bomberman looks cool as a standalone character, but as a game character following on from a previous one, it sucks.

Put that evil bomberman in a horror game chasing you down an empty corridor and you'll have people wetting themselves. The brilliance of Bomberman as a game though (imo) is that you're blowing stuff up with a guy that looks so innocent and it's so much fun!

"It's hard to fight wolves with those things always getting in the way!"

I'm sure it'd be possible for her to fight the wolves with those directly, a direct 1-2 knockout shot!

Anyway, I prefer the new Lara. The old one with Jupiter and Saturn nestled in there resulted in anyone who watched the game (having not already seen it) saying "I bet you only play this because she has huge boobs". Now it's more of a "Wow, she looks hot", they ...

Man that's actually very close!

I completely missed out on the last Bomberman game, not that I was really looking for it, glad I never touched it now lol. Would have been a waste of a good 5 seconds.

MS bought FF13 to slow Sony down in sales, that's the main reason. They didn't want the Square Enix guys going to E3 with a PS3 exclusive and showing it off, so they paid for it to go multiplatform right before they got to E3. That's how it went down.

MS don't really care about FF13 they just don't want to miss out on the sales, from a business point of view they've made a very good decision. Microsoft isn't run by a bunch of idiots, they know they have to slow Sony's sales dow...

The press don't make the game and won't be playing the game like us gamers would be so in all honesty try out the games and buy the ones you want to keep playing, it's the only way to find out what you enjoy playing. The media aren't you so to speak lol, you make your own decisions, many get so tied up in metascores that they never give the badly reviewed games a chance.

Remember Heavenly Sword's media attention? This site was lit up by article after article and fanboys saying ...

Sony feel they don't need a counter-punch following the news. They have enough exclusives and see that the PS3 is still getting the game.

They have a lot of faith in the PS3. Microsoft appear to be losing faith rapidly in the 360, they're buying exclusives to dampen the damage the PS3 is doing to their console and they're taking cheap shots at the oppostition in a desperate attempt to make the 360 look better.

Sony don't need a counter-plan, they have enough 1st ...

To be honest, I could see this coming. It was a mistake by Square but it's their company and they can do what they like really, but the reason they went multiplatform was because of the install base of the PS3 lacking, don't they realise people would buy a PS3 to play FFXIII!? Rather odd business decision if you ask me, they could have then later moved to 360 and reaped even greater rewards, a big mistake by Square to accept Microsoft's cash so early.

As for the game, as I'm su...

Microsoft appear to be very dependant on 3rd party titles now, Sony have a whole host of 1st party developers working for them so I can see where their confidence comes from whenever an exclusive title goes multiplatform.

Guns, I see that Home is the one thing Sony have that people never really know the facts about (Especially those solely restricted to the 360) even though they did announce a good few weeks ago that it will definitely be released in 2008, is coming in the Autu...

There's nothing to worry about. The PS3 version will be made first, the 360 development will only start once localisation for the US and EU version starts for the PS3 so the PS3 version will, imo, be the better version and more optimised. The 360 version could very well end up being a multi-disc port...

I was waiting for this to crop up, I've seen the ad and saw the controller used. I loled when my brother mentioned it, 'look! It's a 360 controller'

What did you think they'd use? At least they're promoting gaming lol!
