Okay, so far the movement of the MP community has gone from Resistance & Halo to COD4, then a big portion has moved over to Battlefield: Bad Company. Now we have Gears 2 and Killzone 2 approaching.

Killzone 2 has a supremely deep multiplayer experience. The concept of having a match online as a clan against another clan and putting points on the line is awesome, mix that with having a very open round-to-round system whereby you can have a CTF round and win it only to have s...

Okay so FFXIII is also on the 360 now, but seriously you'd have to be selfish to kill yourself over that, think about all the family members you'd leave behind. I don't want to call this guy names or anything but seriously if you're contemplating suicide over an E3 game announcement then you should seek help immediately, in my opinion.

I'll quote you all the most convincing bit of the article that indicates (to me) that this game really is a BIG deal.

"In fact when I referred to it in passing and without detail in front of a BBC colleague this week, the Sony PR man drew a sharp intake of breath and shot me a withering look."

This is really interesting, because whenever the PR guys are THAT (need an italics option lol) worried about a leak they usually have a big announcement in store....

E3 is not the only game convention of the year, all three companies will spread their news out so that they can make a huge announcement at each event.

E3 is much smaller now, has much less of an impact and is now seen as 'just another games conference', plus I'm sure Sony will unleash some new games upon us come Leipzig. If not that, they'll present more new info on current projects.

I would love it if Sony gave us a confirmed date for Home (In October?), a dat...

Level designing is like the ultimate if you're a gamer!

I spent more time designing levels in Timesplitters 2 and 3 for my bro than playing the game (and I played the game a lot lol).

LBP is the most innovative console game this year without a doubt, a game that makes the player make the game. Sounds so simple but the possibilities are endless!

To me it doesn't matter if it looks 'kiddish' or 'childish', it's a game with a special tool for creating...

It's no lie that Microsoft release all their big bone-shattering news at E3. Sony spread it out over the various games conferences throughout the year, they see E3 as just another venue (Whether it's based in the US it matters not).

There's always been this thing of which company had the best E3 presentation. Well Sony don't really use E3 as a platform to release news on a 'multiplat becoming exclusive' or 'exclusive becoming multiplat' like Microsoft do, it's mainly because of...

So basically he just said, "Yeah we're making a Halo prequel and then a sequel" even though the tagline for Halo 3 was 'finish the fight'. Makes sense...

What if the AI was just as smart, tactical and adaptive as the player? That'd make the game so realistic, it'd be like fighting against real people.

I'd be up for that. I'll find out anyway when KZ2 hits and I set it to max difficulty lol

"Well Duh!"

lol, of course it was toned down for E3.

Killzone 2 has more depth to it's MP than any other shooter this gen, the ranking system is one of the best ideas I've heard of for an online game.

It's a case of 'watch this space' when it comes to Killzone 2 nowadays, after the E3 details I have this back on preorder :D

Bad Company had issues with the demo on the 360 ONLY, was perfectly fine on the PS3.

Burnout Paradise's latest update, codenamed Cagney was released on the PS3 a while ago, before the 360 gets it.

XBL is slowly losing out to PSN, okay so XBL has lots of features but PSN has dedicated server support resulting in lagless performance. XBL isn't the be all and end all of online gaming, Sony have a brilliant service now and it's constantly getting better.

To be honest, to release a game on the PS3 then bypass the already present PSN sign-in system by making users create a KONAMI ID is ridiculous.

Konami need to sort out their online service. First we had Pro Evo 2008 last year with major online issues on both 360 and PS3, now we have MGO issues.

MGO itself is brilliant, but the way Konami runs it's online service leaves a LOT to be desired.

...actually you have a point.

If the games have got worse since the first one then why has the hype grown? lol

...and I can see Halo still being used in 2 years time in comparison to another FPS because Halo is 'the greatest FPS of all time'

tut tut, Halo is only as big as it is because people keep saying it's so good. GTA on the other hand has earned it's status as an iconic game over the years by actually creating the freeroam genre.

A game is only truly an unbeatable game if it creates it's own genre. GTA, Eye of Judgment, Little Big Planet are just 3 examples of games...

Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 are better than it in different way.

Resistance 2 has a crazy amount of players online, most games support 24 or 32 players (E.g Battlefield:BC or Warhawk) but Resistance has 30 players on just one team! A 60-man MP match will be brutal! honestly, you have to admit R2 has the numbers on it's side here, there's only one thing that'd make COD4 better and that's more than the 18 player limit. If we could have 18 players on each team in COD4 it'd be much...

Seriously, if you think Halo was the first console FPS you've missed out on a LOT lol.

What about GoldenEye, Agent Under Fire and Timesplitters? Three of the best MP party games of the last few gens!

The Halo series just took what other games had already produced, mixed them well enough and added online capabilities. The real reason the Halo series took off was because of the hype of Halo seeing as it was the only game pushing the Xbox lets be honest and then the...

Personally, I couldn't get into Crysis MP. It was missing a ranking system or something extra to make you feel as though you were earning something by playing it, getting something for all the kills etc.

That's where COD4 and Battlefield excel (My two most played online FPS's), unlockables by ranking. However, Killzone 2 will be the ultimate FPS next year due to the unlockables! Mixing classes and abilities to suit your playing style is the way to go, the best of COD4 and Battl...

I just have to say Timesplitters was also a brilliant game (Same devs as Goldeneye), I had so much fun playing that over a friend's house with 4 player splitscreen. TS2 was better, TS3 wasn't much of an improvement. Can't wait for TS4!

The level builder was always epic in the TS games!

Edit: Agent Under Fire! Wow, that MP level with the cable cars lol! Awesome game!

"PS3 fanboys denounce it without playing it"

I could say the same about 360 fanboys and MGS4 when it was released. First of all we've had the built up jealousy over the past year that MGS4 wasn't coming out on 360, then upon it's release that jealousy spiled out into articles on 10 minute install times, blown way out of proportion.

I've already stated my opinions of what Halo has done up above somewhere so I won't go over it again but I find it rather f...

I don't hate Halo.

I just hate what Halo has done to this industry, it's helped remove the challenge and the learning curves of gaming. In the past you'd have to learn how to play a game because it's new and unique. Now we have more shooters oozing out of this industry than we know what to do with. COD4, Halo, Gears, Resistance, Killzone, Battlefield, Left 4 Dead, Dead Space, BIA:HH, Crysis, RE5, and there are tons more.

You could say I can't really blame this al...
