It's a well-known fact that Sony always go for originality and variation with the games for their consoles (Just look at their 1st party list for their consoles to date), now they have Resistance and Killzone 2 as the FPS games, LBP is completely in a genre of it's own and should be commended for it, Motorstorm and GT5 fill in the racing section, the PSN games are there for those true gamers who understand where gaming originated (In the arcades with Space Invaders and Pong) and may look less...

That was quite funny. Wrong, but funny.

It takes just under 10 mins to completely install DMC4 on the PS3. Then we have the MGS4 arguments, if MGS4 came to 360 (Which it won't, the many mentions of 'superior Blu-Ray technology' and the references to the PS3 in the game points to PS3 exclusivity forever) then it'd require mandatory installs just like the PS3 version (Which take about 5 mins, at the start of each chapter, they're reduced the next time you play anyway to about a m...

By public beta do they mean an open beta?

If so then it'll be like what happened with MGO in Europe, a straight-forward download and play. Usually though betas increase in numbers and don't start out with millions of people lol, I would have expected a closed beta first (For example, a month or so before, included for the Qore subscribers ;P ) then opening out to the rest slightly later with a download available via the PSStore (Like MGO)

We can't get Qore in Eur...

In the Autumn, that release date has already been announced a few weeks ago. Many expect an October release.

It looks like the guys over at the MS 360 department sat round a table and one suddenly said "Hmmm, what about using the XMB and turning it sideways to make it less obvious that we've copied it, then add in avatars just like those on the Wii? Sound good?"

That's basically what this is, an XMB-Mii intergration by MS, the menu is just like the XMB slider-menu just turned 90 degrees with Mii's included. Of course imitation is the greatest form of flattery so MS has basic...

If they end up delaying the PS3 EU/US release because they're developing a 360 port it'll spell uproar in the PS3 community, especially from those that've been waiting for FF13.

Since the PS3 version will be done first, all they'll need to do is localise it for the US (Pretty straight-forward and quick) and Europe (Longer due to more languages), then they're done. Whereas the 360 version won't be started till the PS3 version is finished, which is when localisation starts so unl...

Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the best looking game to hit a console so far.

It will be the best this year. MS had nothing new to show, the FF13 was the only surprise there. Sony has a lot of stuff under-wraps soon to be unwrapped so to speak.

I won't list all the games I look forward to seeing & hearing about but there are a lot, many released this year in just a few months. I want to know how Home is coming along, when inFAMOUS's release date is and what we can look forward to in terms of new unmentioned IP's because Sony have a great way of showi...

To be perfectly honest I'll start this by saying Square Enix's decision was unexpected, but what I find really hard to understand is the reason behind it.

They moved it to 360 as well (Outside of Japan) because of the install base, now I do believe that getting a true grip on what the install base figures actually are is now impossible. 360's are being cycled through repair shops and many that sent them away during the release period of the Elite bought that instead, selling of...

That sounded like Dr Evil:

I personally don't hate EA, I just disagree with the way they do business and what happens after the buy-out.

-Bullfrog devs kicked off of their latest project to make EA sports game.
-Westwood devs put to work on C&C Generals (A game completely unrelated to the C&C universe and made mainly to capitalise on the Iraq conflict, imho)
-Maxis devs were actually pretty much unaffected by the buy-out other than having to pump out a new Sims game every year for w...

You'd probably have to staple copies of it to all the executive's faces, or superglue it. One of those.

That way they simply wouldn't be able to ignore it, plus they wouldn't be able to see. So, all in favour of petition stapling to faces say 'I'!

EA just pushes the developers to release a game at a said date, so you can expect the next GTA game to be released even if it has some bugs because EA says so, then they'll put out a few patches a few months later after they've raked in the cash.

This now means that 3 of my favourite companies have been taken by EA:
Westwood
Bullfrog
Take Two

Who's next?

Usually they put their updates online shortly after release.

Just checked, sure enough it's up there.

The official Playstation site under the 'latest update features' thing, it gives you the option to download it. You just have to agree to their tremendously long terms of agreement lol. Lots of scrolling down.

You asked for a link so here it is (UK PS3 site):

I got the update last week when I updated to 2.40, was version 4.00. Since you have the Solo pack I think maybe redownloading the game would give the update a kick and jump-start it. It should ask for the update when you fire the game up, you have to be signed in for it to pick it up though, obviously.

I tried to sign in and it started updating.

...A tab on the profile detailing all the games I own and be able to view a friends game collection too. Would be easy to implement just by the PS3 checking whether a Game Data file is present and also stating when the game was last played.

It'd make it possible to offer challenges to friends, especially if you've met them in one game and don't know what other games you both have.

Same here, no probs with 2.40. However, we have no real choice over FW downloads and I was rather surprised to find out how big the update was when I started downloading, it took much longer than I was expecting.

I've also upgraded to a 250GB HDD. Real easy to do isn't it? :)

Surely the console itself should be well ventilated. Do you have to ventilate and dust-out your TV every week? Surely not! A console should do a better job than a TV at removing heat, the 360 doesn't appear to be able to do this without help.

Haven't had any problems with it. XP was great no doubt and if this is like that but with added functions then it should be the best OS MS have put out. Notice the 'should be' there lol.

While I have no problems with Vista I never bought it, it came with my gaming rig. A quadcore system shouldn't have any problems with any OS :)
