Guerrilla have an entire seperate team working solely on the multiplayer, they'll have a good MP lobby system I'm sure. They have dedicated servers too and it plays smoothly thus far, the guys are Guerrilla have Frag Fridays where they play online against each other to "test it out" if you know what I mean *wink wink nudge nudge*. So the MP element is shaping up nicely, they also want to get the public playing it before release so a Beta IS coming to make sure they can polish it up ...
I'm not into technical trumping using console stats but am I right in assuming the cores you speak of are the PPUs? Maybe I'm wrong but anyway:
Guerrilla said they've put them to good use and are reaping the benefits of using them. It was in an interview with a dev on GT, the one where there's a vid of the game in the background. I can't remember the title of the video though soz, but he also said they didn't use all the cores and future games could look even better than Killzo...
They deserve an award for pumping out top games each year! They definitely live up to their name, the whole dev team must live without sleep.
Resistance 2 looks huge, better than Gears 2 from what I've seen. Yes I've looked at gameplay of both to remove bias:
While Gears 2 is smaller, close quarters stuff I think 10 players is too low. 16 players would have been better and could also keep the small team gameplay alive. Gears 2 looks good graphically but there are...
They've got the better exclusives. Microsoft only won the conference thing because of the FF13 announcement imo, it's the only thing they had going for them that wasn't already detailed to some extent.
I'm starting to see the appeal in Fat Princess btw, at first glance I didn't like it. But now I can see what it's all about, it's like a new version of CTF except you can fatten her up to make her hard to move lol! That has more players online at once than Gears 2...
GT gave Killzone 2 the best graphics award.
Why?
Maybe not at first, but what if you made a species that dominated a galaxy and spread out taking planets, the game will make creatures stronger than your own to give you a challenge. So the scale is amazing, you could take 5 or 6 planets and then come across something that fights back and fights harder.
You can compare it to beachballs and bugs if you want, but I could compare our galaxy to beachballs and bugs too. The size of things like that are entirely relative, yet the sca...
It doesn't mean you'll never play the whole game it just means the game is so vast that there'll always be something new to find and toy around with.
Those who just sit there making 'penis-monsters' all day long have either no creative spirit or have very limited imaginations. Yeah I could play a game that's heavily scripted like COD4 and enjoy it, but I know that the enemies are spawned into a level when I complete an objective or enter an area and they then only attack once y...
Didn't you play the first GTA's? It's where the 3rds and soon to be 4ths in the series came from.
Liberty, Vice and San Andreas. Albeit somewhat different in layout originated there. To R* it's now just a case of going back round the cycle, expect GTA4: Vice City or GTA4: London to be next...
This game would be great if it's top-down! Just like old times!
This could very well be it. Hardware: Online Arena was released once the PS2 got online capabilities. The PSTwo (Slim version) gained the internal network adapter and Online Arena was the first game to hit (a 1st party title literally given to players on their introduction network disc).
While I have no proof (Neither does anyone else here), out of those games Hardware 2 would appear to be the most likely. It's unknown to the majority and has had no mention at all anywhere. Hea...
You can reload while running, well you reload and then sprint and while sprinting you'll reload. It's really that simple, takes a bit of thought to figure out what would work. "If you can't see the gun when sprinting maybe you can reload when you can see the gun and then start sprinting", that's all it took for me in the first 10 mins of playing the game lol.
As for swimming, how can a guy swim properly when he's using his hands to reload a weapon? You can't fire anyw...
Crematory, you can reload while sprinting you just hit reload first then sprint and you'll see the ammo return to full.
cp68 I disagree, Burnout and Command and Conquer are two of the best games EA have put out there along with Crysis and now Spore (Either developed or published like you said)
It's the sports titles and online where EA tend to have a big problem. I don't like the EA Sports games because the menus are usually clunky, there's loading in-game (like ...
Yeah the enemies are really accurate, but then again the player is too so it evens it up. It's like you're equal to them, then there's that injector for a quick health boost.
The snipers are the most annoying though, they fire and are usually so well camoflaged and hide behidna tree or something that even though they show up on the map you usually have to go over and look for them anyway, taking a few bullets along the way. The AI isn't the best either I have to say. As for the...
Yep same here, you can't compare the different versions with the TV at the same settings, it's not the way it works. You need ot get optimal settings on both versions then compare then.
But to be honest, I couldn't care less lol. I just like getting stuck in and having fun blowing stuff up! It's better than COD4, I got tired of that once I reached rank 55 within a few days, the prestige mode really adds nothing to the replay value.
As for this comparison, the gam...
That's the way it works unfortunately. It's a form of point-scoring against the people that own the 'other console'.
Last year it was 360 fanboys everywhere, now the PS3 fanboys are hitting back. Personally, I have no sympathy for those fanboys that ran their mouths last year and now can't take it, 2007 was Microsoft's big year and now 2008 is Sony's but it's rather different because Sony has Killzone 2 there to carry that momentum into 2009.
If the skeptics woul...
There's a Beta coming out later this year according to Guerrilla. You can try it out for yourself then, multiplayer too I believe.
Guerrilla have been having Frag Fridays for a little while (Saw the Dev interview at E3) to try out the MP side of the game and they've been having a blast and are looking to expand it to the public this year!
I'm just amazed the multiplayer looks as good as the singleplayer and with 32 players online! The fanboy hate from the 'other ...
That's what they're missing in Battlefield. Why put the knife as Triangle? Seriously, you can't actually turn if you want to quickly knife someone because of where the button is. It may not ruin the game but it'd be a lot better if I could choose my own control setup, I am the one playing afterall!
Most games have this included, I doubt Killzone 2 will be missing it, seeing as Guerrilla have been working their butts off on this game for ages. They'll want everything to be perfe...
"another lost PS3 exclusive and a lot of crying Sony fanboys."
Yet the PS3 still has more exclusives lined up than the 360 does, this is more a case of Microsoft having to buy a good game because they haven't got any good ones lined up for the future in 09/10.
Microsoft actually needs more games for the future and this is the proof, they've resorted to buying PS3 exclusives because they haven't got their own, lol.
There're a few good reasons why Square never said it wouldn't come out at the same time as the PS3 version:
1) It was announced during the Microsoft conference
2) It has just become a multiplatform title and Square will not want to lose 360 customers by mentioning that they may have to wait a few months.
3) They do actually want it to be released on the same day for both systems once localised (Shock horror to the fanboys! lol), they're aiming for ...
I think it's something to do with the scope and sight itself, maybe that's a temporary concept and they're making a better one. Maybe it is just a nice little comment stating the scope is temporary or maybe it's the scope insulting the guy you're aiming at. As if the scope is talking as the other guy:
Scope: "Hi, I'm Temporary"
Guy gets shot.
lol jks! Nah it's probably just a concept scope, to be improved. Looks pretty good as it is if you ask m...
