Me too. I just played the first two Bioshocks again. That was dozens of hours. Why spend $60 for a remaster of that game series when I have the orginal from my XB360 days? It has been rare for any remaster to add graphic fidelity that makes the purchase worth it.
@ShadowWolf712 Except PSnow no longer supports all those other devices where it actually made sense. Sony dropped support for all the other PLATFORMS (PS3, Vita, smart TVs, Blu-Ray players, Roku, etc...) All that is supported now is the PS4 and PC. And I know no one that uses the service on the PC (Does anyone?). So your point makes no sense. How can the main purpose of the PSNow service be to entice some one to buy a system, if essentially the only way you can use PSNow today is to actua...
First learn to read. This was time spent not number of users that have used the service. Most people have used it. Some more than others. So for any give day for every 100 minutes the Xbox is used around 1.5 minutes are BC game play. To be honest not a terrible number.
Lets figure what 1.5% means. There are around 30 million Xbox One consoles. Lets' ignore Ars aggregate calculations because they assume polling done previously is invalid for total hours but, their ove...
So that new logo they trademarked recently must definitely be for the new console. I only say that now because if you look at the lettering in the video here several of the letters are broken by empty spacing within the character itself, a similar look to the new trademarked S logo (see the F's, E's and O) .
@blackblades So they are unopened game boxes? That would be a collection. Otherwise, those old games are not worth anything (remember going forward was Garethvk's point I was responding to) Keeping htem sounds like an excuse to me. I don't use it but like to keep it around. That is what pack rats say; everything has purpose even if you haven't touched it in 5 years. As for those mags, what purpose do they serve if you will never play those games they talk about again. Going for...
That was a stupid poll. I took it. They asked questions poorly. They poll didn't say 98% didn't ever use the service but how much time was spent on the service relative to other things.
Everybody I know that has an Xbox uses the BC feature a lot more than 2% of the time. Case and point. I went back and just recently played the first two games of Bioshock series. Why pay $60 for a remaster of something you own and that remaster really wasn't a hell of a lot bet...
If you are moving forward not backwards why do you still have the old consoles? Seems like if they have no value (always going forward never back remember) So, head over to the local Goodwill and donate everything. No need to have them around, share the joy with somebody else less fortunate who might appreciate the past games today.
PSNow is just a money grab then. I mean if you think Microsoft BC has no purpose, even though it is free on the Xbox than you definitely can't say PSNow, which is not free, can have any value, right? Or is PSNow also to mask something as well?
PSNow should be immediately closed down then. All that service is used for now is a way to charge you for backward capatabilty on the PS4. Apparently, according to Sony's Ryan, BC is not used at all ergo PSNow is not used.
So if you buy a Blu-Ray machine and it didn't play your old DVD's you be cool with that? Heck what if the PS4 Blu-Ray didn't play DVDs? I mean why buy a Blu-Ray and expect it to be BC with those 20 year old DVDs. That is foolish to expect it play those DVDs. We should all buy the updated Blu-Ray versions, as you say it makes perfect sense now! Come on who wants to watch those old movies anyways. I guess you could always keep the DVD player attached to your TV as well.

Acceptable to me is for one full year (until the next E3). OK, on occasion if there is one game that as a company you truly believe in (like Horizon: Zero Dawn) you can make that a year and a half (until the following Holiday) to announce it. Any longer is too long. I get it. We all want to see cool games. But, the big three console makers should have enough to show us coming for the next 12 months (first party and partnered with third party games) at their events.
BC, isn't that the purpose of PSNow? Until PS4 makes it to the system that is all it is has been, a way to play those old games but, to charge for it. For me, it t one point the charging made sense. That point was when it was on so many different devices beyond the PS4 (DVD players, smart TVs, Roku, Vita, PS3, and more). Now just PS4 and PC. Does Ryan believe PSNow is not a viable service essentially admitting it is not used much? We must, that if we are to believe his statements tha...
Yes. A new main character would be better at this point. Perhaps, she can comeback and cross paths with a new main character(s) in the series. But, Clementine, for me, as a main character has worn out her welcome for now. There are so many interesting stories to be told without Clementine involved. Imagine how boring the Walking Dead TV series would be if they kept the same main character(s) and didn't expand to tell other peoples stories. All Grimes, all the time would have killed o...
@MegamanXXX No reason to attach a game to it. That is pure loss of sales. It serves very little for new console release. People investing in the Scorpio are going to buy into games that support it initially. They will buy the Forza 7 or the Shadow of War, etc. for 4K or better 1080 experiences. Microsoft if pricing it low takes the hit on the profit initially to get the device sales and gain momentum in public perception (a key ingredient); actual software sales really cost Microsoft n...
@Nyxus And Sony said the Pro was a premium product and meant to compete with the PC. Yet, that premium device is priced only $100 more than the base PS4. The term "premium" applies to your current device not some imaginary marker. And in this case Scorpio is premium device in Xbox One family; a premium device relative to the original and S models.
I fully expect the PS4 to drop permanently this fall to $249 with the Pro taking a $50 drop a well. Microsoft ...
Calling people morons is a useless, mind numbing opinion. That only shows a Neanderthal attitude about others. "Grunt, grunt, me buy physical, you moron not buy physical like Groog."
I guess if you want I can go all hyperbolic* too. Only people that hate the environment, their moms and little puppies buy physical copies. They are self-important twits. Do you want your children to die? Your mom and dad to drown in the rising oceans? You are personally ending th...
@Rude-ro I would normally agree, But, this Fall (Sept 21 to Dec 21) is going to be extremely crowded with heavyweights from third parties being released: COD: WW2, the EA Sports games, Battlefront 2, Shadow of War, Destiny 2, Far Cry 5 to name a few. So, I worry about a GOW not getting the exposure it deserves if it is crammed in with those big hitters, I personally much rather have it get released in early Spring like Horizon was. Luckily Red Redemption 2 has been delayed as it is alrea...
Yeah if they painted the original Xbox One gold. It would have been the ugliest in history. Otherwise it was just a grey boring box. But, here Sony took their nice looking PS4 design, a design that could look fairly nice with almost any color, and makes this PS4 console version look like cheap swap meet ripoff. It looks like so plastic. Painted plastic in gold doesn't have to make it look this way. Case in point the TacoBell had a gold PS4 giveaway a while back that looked so much bet...
Do you have studies that show it "mainly" is a portable device? Or is that an opinion? My own experience (and my own opinion) from the friends I know that have the Switch and according to them, it has hardly ever left the dock. So for them it "mainly" is not a portable system. You might also want talk to Nintendo who, from day one, have marketed it as true console. Shouldn't it be the creators of the device the determine what it is rather than fanboys personal opinion...
