My first Pro sounded like that all the time. Returned it a few days after purchasing. My second sounded less obnoxious but, it was still very noticeable and could be heard on the other side of the room. It did have similar high fan issues at when rendering intense scenes. I returned that one as well. My third Pro, yes third. actually is fairly quiet (more noticeable than as my old PS4 for sure but not annoyingly so) And it does still get noticeably nosier...
That does not make them third party. That makes it another outlet to sell games for their ecosystem. That would be like saying Sony is third party because they sell their PS4 games at Best Buy or GameStop beyond selling them digitally from their own Sony PS store. So, unless those Microsoft games on Steam run on anything other besides a Windows ecosystem your argument is moot.
Minecraft was on other systems long before Microsoft bought them. Actually Notch chose them over other similar offers because Xbox turned out to be such a good partner when Mojang was developing Minecraft for Xbox. It is not like they developed a game for PS after they bought the company. They bought Mojang and continued to support the worldwide phenomenon with the attention of making it even larger than it was before. As for support on other systems with Sony's lack of working with Micr...
I too am not sure. Even if you can't gift it via Xbox you could always buy an one year subscription to EA Access that uses a digital code (from Amazon or other online stores) and send that code instantly to him via email.
@TankCrossing I am not against your argument. I am just asking you to take a step forward. What rules, costs and limitations would you see fit if Microsoft did add this option? As we both acknowledge both media have certain advantages and disadvantages. By giving digital such an option of gifting older games then we must admit an unlimited and easy no cost sharing would seem to exploit the weakness of doing the same with physical media (not actually parity). Since you brought up the idea ...
@TankCrossing If it is about parity gifting an older game does require money and time of some type with actual sharing of physical media. In most cases, somebody is driving somewhere to give it to you or you travel to them (that takes both time and physical expense). Or you are spending money on postage to send it to a friend or family member not nearby. So, if done digitally where is that parity of cost? Would a surcharge by Microsoft for providing the convenience of this service be OK with...
No that is BS this does make it P2W. MT's are optional and not in this case play to win transactions. This P2W rallying cry used so often and doing so misplaced and diluting the argument between those that are doing and those that are not. This is not P2W. Sorry, but if somebody wants to cheat and get their earlier than normal play requires that is on them. Does it diminish from the game if you decide not to pay is the question? I think it is just the opposite. It diminishes the games...
Around 65% for several weeks is not unusual for a major release from any studio . Now if Disney took a piece of the concessions that would be unique. In fact, Disney's Marvel and Lucasfilm divisions and WB DC films often get 100% of ticket sales for the first weekend because it almost certainly a guaranteed 100% sell out which in turn means lots more of those $7 colas, $8 popcorns, $5 hot dogs, $4 candbar, $5 of crappy nachos, etc.. sold by the theater. I guess a theater would rather se...
Well from a business perspective you just have to look at the numbers from the last several quarterly reports. They sold more hardware but, essentially amounted to losses. Normally that would be acceptable because software is where console builders make their money. However, their software and services, although growing, was not able to keep up with the loss they took selling the hardware (attachment rate was down). Additionally, a$100 discount would be a lot money to cut at this point in...
@fr0sty Sorry, but that HDMI HDR pass-thru is a big difference with the new PSVR iteration. And not as trivial as you would like to make it out to be. You no longer need to move the HDMI cables from the PSVR processor box to the HDR TV directly to support HDR. You can now actually take advantage of HDR on your PS4 directly if you have a PSVR without having to rewire everything when you are done playing with the VR and then move the cables back if you want to play the VR again.

I owned a PS4 base unit and felt the need to upgrade, as did two of my friends who also upgraded to the PS4 Pro from their base units. One of those did it for the PSVR not the graphics. So your assumption is complete false and without basis. I also see a lot more interest from friends that only own base PS4 in the X then I saw with reverse, Xbox base owners interested in the Pro. I know one bought it already. Another is planning on getting one at Christmas. Several other PS4 owners that ar...
Trust Forbes over Sound and Image or other magazines that specialize in the subject matter. I think not. Almost every review I have read of the device (the same one in the S) have for the most part says it handles itself pretty well, better than anything in the $300 range. The one in both my S and X have done as well as the Oppo UDP-203 I bought in May. A little slow on the start up compared to an Oppo but in many cases handles just as well in video. Admittedly the Oppo has better recovery ...
One of my first jobs (while still in college) was support for a major computer company and believe me this issues is not unusual. We all had stories and many were passed around. But, my favorite story was from help support at Dell (familiar to this one). It went something like this.
Customer: Yeah, my computer is broken. I was editing a document and suddenly all the words went away
Support: What is on your screen now?
Customer: Nothing. It is blank. No...
Really, I can show you videos of bricked PS4 Pros that show it won't boot. Remember the power button issues that hit the PS4 Pro on release. Well, those owners had no problem showing in in a video that pressing the power button didn't work and that would mean (as the videos showed) nothing on those blank screen. How would this be any different?
And how many is going on here? Can you show 5-10-20%? No, you don't know but are guided by your bias. It is just loud screaming at this point. A few here and there. Same thing happened with both the most recent consoles from Sony and Nintendo. We have short memories don't we.
The PS4 Pro power supply issues, high whining fans, push power button issues, disc eject issues, bricked consoles after initial update, consoles that went in a continuous boot or update loop...
@CP_Company
"m$ said that they consider to release their "exclusives" on Playstation also."
No they didn't that was debunked. It was never considered but, some journalist interpreted something about other systems to mean that. And PS4 fanboys went all bat crazy that it was true. Phil was talking about iOS, Android the same way Sony has games coming to them as well. Does that mean PS4 games are coming directly to Xbox now too? He was also ...
