He is not referring to actual Netflix games but the idea of Netflix gaming streaming services as a means for a large customer base as the next coming. He is answering a question about a broad all-encompassing catalog we buy into and just stream from. He notes that is not going to happen soon. To his point, he was talking about how it has worked in the past. The iTunes pay model rose up and was dominate before a large user base formed before streaming services like Apple Music or Spotify cou...
Microsoft store says "Hi". It is a walled garden as well (and more and more that is where Microsoft will only provide access to their first party games). Let's also not pretend Steam isn't an artificial walled garden as well. GOG is the only one I can think of that is not a full walled garden. Ubisoft, nope walled. EA Origins, nope walled.
As for PC. There are plenty of reasons not to come to the platform. The most obvious is piracy is a big issue. Ther...
@jronj6h
Yeah, pure fanboy plastic box hate. You have @yulholdren saying the exact same thing but noting it would be another PS4 Pro for him and has more upvotes rather than down (and he didn't even care it didn't come with anything).
How dare he want another Pro. Isn't one enough? /s Maybe, like me. he makes good money and has a family of young kids who monopolize the consoles, including a wife who games more than me. I bear him no ill and would never...
What's with the downvotes? Are you saying that no one should be interested in an X (normally $499) at any price? Is this just PS4 fans just butthurt on such a great deal on the X? Believe me, if they had a PS4 Pro (normally $399) for $244 with Spider-Man I would have bought another Pro as well.
I have used them in the past (and did so again with this X $344 deal) and have never had any problems with them. Everything was received in the expected time frame and in working condition. I have never had to deal with returning anything though. And often that is a where it becomes a bigger hassle than dealing with Amazon or Costco, especially if you are dealing with electronics.
I agree. How about Dark Souls became more like Diablo. How do you think Dark Soul fans would react to that overall change? Not well. Yet all these Dark Soul fans seem to be interested in making Diablo another Dark Souls copy. There are enough of those.
Diablo is an easy pickup game. You can play with less skilled players and all can enjoy the experience. Dark Souls, all though it can be enjoyable on its own, does not provide that type of ease of fun.
@gixodvb
I love reading people commenting about Microsoft being in a pinch or how the price of the X will not be able to hit $300 in two years is then they ignore the PS5 (any next-gen) is in a pinch by an association of that same thinking. Maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong. But, what I see by using that same argument is Microsoft now is more willing to take no profit or a loss on the console than Sony. Sony wasn't even willing to put a 4KUHD player in a console they ca...
@sampsonon
"put all their resources into backwards compatibility " Microsoft team that deals with BC is made up of about 7 people. And that isn't even their primary engineering jobs for MS gaming; it is for most a secondary assignment. So, I doubt I would not call it putting all their resources into BC even close. Unless you think MS gaming is only 7 engineers.
Furthermore, you know these very large gaming divisions can do multiple things at a time. ...
@kingtoby2081 I would. Considering there is no such thing as a GTX 2070 it will be very interesting to see the picture of that non-existent product. There is an RTX 2070 but rather than correcting yourself you doubled done that you have GTX 2070 (calling him a fanboy for correcting you). So, I am with Wha_gwaan on this.
There is no large population that wants to play VR that would trade away power on the PS5 itself to get there. That is pure VR fan fiction. Right now the PSVR has an attachment rate of 3.5%. And I don't see that growing next gen dramatically. For heaven sakes, at leat Microsoft had the numbers from the Xbox 360 with over 24 million original Kinects (closing in on 40% attachment rate) to have some belief that integrating the tech and prioritizing that Kinec...
Of course if you are purposely ignoring Sony has closed just as many studios as Microsoft this gen. Even more if one were to include the infamous game studio blood bath Sony created in 2011.
I think you completely missed the point of why Battlefield V got ripped to shreds by regular players of the game. Taking a historical event and reimagining it with PC feelings (eg females being an intricate point on the front line when that was not even close to being reality) was just a small part of it. (Yeah, I get it there were some actual Russian fighters somewhere during WWII.) It didn't help that with the Mad Max war paint, and the bionic man arm pieces running around and such....
Does anybody know how far ahead I can stack PSPlus? I usually buy when I need it but, at $40 might as well get three years now. I did this with Gold in the past and have no bills there tell 2021 and want to do this with PSPlus as well.
Finally allowed cross-play? That is a hoot that you think that has happened. With what one game (and that is still in the testing phase, right?). Sony will drag their feet as much as possible on this matter. Come back when there is actual cross-play up and running and not just one game and not some half-ass we will take a look at it by a case-by-case basis they are doing now.
Things that need to change
PS
1. Actual cross-play (not promises)
2. No...
You need to some research. Sony never made a statement about wanting cross-play with the Xbox. Never ever. Go ahead find it. Google/Bing. Whatever you want. Find me one time Sony came out and said: "Yes we want cross play with the Xbox, for sure!, Those bad meanies at Xbox just don't want it with us". All they were was silent last gen. That is their modus operandi, remain silent and not take a stand and then people like you will assume they wanted it. Nope! Don't fall for no...
@Christopher
You mean late in the year like almost every console in Sony has ever released. PS (Dec 1994/Nov 1995), PS3 (Nov 2011). PS4 (Nov 2013). Only the PS2 was released early in the year (March).
There may be a couple of reasons I could see a PS5 being released earlier in 2020. First, they want to get a jump on the next Xbox. Second, they wanted 2019 but, particular hardware won't be ready for mass production before late 2019. Three, although they may b...
The difference is if you want the 4KBlu-Ray player on a device that bills itself as 4K enabled device (which the Pro and the X/S all concerning video) you still will be able to get an S that has the player. It is an option that is not going away. Choices. Comeback when Sony has a Pro that actually has a 4KBlu-Ray player and doesn't tell you to just stream it as they did day one from that console's release. Don't get me wrong I think to live without a 4KBlu-Ray player for movie...
