As for Reagan it was also move to disrupt the Soviet Union. A Soviet Union that Regan new was both internally in turmoil and in financial ruin. Most historians see it as the final element that made Russia (Gorbachev) seek a need to end the Cold War. Already after years of trying to keep up with America they were beyond bankrupt and knew they had no financial means to even start to compete at this level. SDI was one of the key. Te Soviet Union made the SDI program one of the central issues at...

That is literally the biggest, bloated pile of crap I have read in a while. A world is a much sadder and dumber place thanks to your comment.
I know it is only an image but the question for me is why that image? A mountain background? The X image with what looks like strange pine branches in the background? Not like Ybarra chose those images randomly.
How many stories did we get about an image in an email from Sony that had the S in PlayStation replaced with a 5? What does that 5 mean for the PS? What does Ybarra suddenly putting up an image about future directions mean for Xbox? People like to play the guessing game on things like this (probably the point both Sony and Microsoft are playing too as well). It just is what it is.
You can't even get the quote right. It was 1981 and 640k not 64k. Furthermore, Gates never said it, no proof he did (no citation from an actual time or place) and he fanatically denies every saying it but, don't let that get in the way of your point. It is similar to how quotes often get associated with people even though there is not any proof it being true or more so actual proof it actually ever did happen. Another famous example Marie Antoinette famo...
And what promises are those? Stop deflecting towards MS. Neither of the two companies have said anything about the workings of these next-gen devices. All we have are codenames from some insider talking to a blogger from Microsoft's side. And frrom Sony we have devkit rumors and this breakdown by a Japanese developer (not even a console developer) from info deciphered from an AMD hardware string. Anything else is people making up what they want from both of those items. Purely conjectur...
There are lots of reasons. And each camp seems to think the other camps points are invalid. For example, what does thet 4K/60 on console sacrfice to get there? Are the same games on a PC demonstratively better at 4K/60 visually by having a more powerful desktop GPU in the PC? Everything is a ying and yang. I am not a big PC gamers but, we go through this same discussion of what if's every generation? Technology will move on. If it didn't we wouldn't look forward to the PS6 a ye...
@Razzer
Not hard to believe there are GG developers who liked what they saw. But, let's be honest if there were GG developers that thought DS wasn't up to snuff they weren't going to run to Twitter to voice their opinion. So it is kind of skewed to one response (hence it is PR).
PSNow, for example, doesn't use their own cloud data centers as does Sony for much of their other services. They use AWS and OpenStack for things like PSNow, PSVue, PSN. In the case of PSNow Sony still has to stuff each and every one of those data centers with their specialized PS3/PS4 blade hardware and additional other hardware for the services specialized infrastructure needs. It is not as simple as you seem to think ...
I have a policy of not clicking on Gaming Bolt or Forbes articles so I can't say for sure but, I wouldn't blame this developer as if he is calling up Gaming Bolt every week to make new statements. More than likely that all these stories come from one interview. They just took that single interview about his thoughts about next gen and are now making many different stories from it.
Except for the issue that around 30% of their profits (not revenue, profit) from this gen now comes from charging for PSN (online). Sony likes that sweet revenue that charging for online brings in. In fact, that is where Kodera said at their last investor's meeting, they will focus the revenue growth on. Besides, let's be honest online sucked big balls a lot of the time on the PS3 when it was free. The network really wasn't supported very well because for the very reason there was...
For a PS5 having PS4 BC should be a given it will be based on the same x86 architecture. PSOne and PS2 aren't that difficult to emulate/virtualize the systems even for a weak processor that is in PS4. Do you think to do PSOne or PS2 it is somehow harder than Microsoft emulating the Xbox 360 on the X1? The excuse for Sony not doing it on the PS4 or PS5 is definitely not related to those older consoles being proprietary systems. Heck the PS Classic runs on crap ARM-based hardware and that...
These investors had access to the same numbers as everyone else and they got notified the same time as everyone else. Any early notification and special treatment that everyone else does not have is tantamount to insider trading. Which is a no,no.
Now the question is there anybody within the company that acted on their own stock before this change happened. Well, at least acted in a way that was out of their normal buy/sell pattern.
I agree for the most part. Although depending on how much they spend on the CPU end of things I can see 8TF at $399 not $499 as a possibility. Contrary to that belief with the rumors of certain aspects of their VR (e.g. breakout box) being integrated that can add additional cost that may affect other decisions. No matter what people believe Sony is not going to release a loss-leader. As for $499 barring any special (niche) build costs and looking at where AMD plans to be in capability I can ...
So, the first issue was what it looked like? Shouldn't that be the last issue anybody should care about? It is like jingling a key above a baby to me. It serves no purpose other than to distract. He says "slightly amended over time" No, what you see now will only have a faint resemblance to what it will be when they start realizing issues of the design will have to costs, part failure rates and other areas like cooling/heat displacement &overall design effectiveness, I c...
I bet you pick who will win a football game by which uniform looks best? Am I right? Look here at the shiny little thing kind of logic. "ooohh sooo pretty, lights..."
The whole reason they wanted out from Microsoft ownership was to create something new and not have to work on Halo. Not because the two had a strained relationship otherwise. Yet, what does Bungie do they do when they leave? They created a new take on Halo called Destiny. Hardly a change. Seems to me they have only proven that they are only a one trick pony.
I have never played Overwatch. So, this is a somewhat serious question. How are these characters any different than the other characters in the game? (besides just saying they are gay). Do the characters act any different? Do they start making out with other same-sex characters? Do they fight differently? Is there some special LGBTQ dance that I never heard of that they do after a victory/taunt? Is there some back story they give in intros about being gay? And if so, do they go into similar ...
