Well there are different types of games for Kinect and I'm not sure what types of games your into, but I loved The Gunstringer, Fruit Ninja, Haunt(XBLA), Rise Of Nightmares, Kinect Sports, Dance Central and Child Of Eden.
I think those were all solid games for what they were, some of the Kinect Fun Labs stuff can be entertaining as well.
Cool name! Hopefully this game is as good as Panzer was. This is one title people cant bust on for being on rails, as Panzer was on rails with a standard controller back in the day.
Seems like all the best Kinect games are getting released on XBLA.
@PixL
You realize Remedy built their own engine for Alan Wake from scratch right? It took them 5 years to complete it, of course American Nightmare runs on the same engine.
There are new enemies in American Nightmare, new weapons ect..
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I've played games that were far more repetitive and had worse stories to boot.
American Nightmare pretty much closes the door after the game, it...
Nintendo doesn't need saving. They survived the Gamecube, which made them profit from the start. Nintendo is always good at making a console that earns a profit right away, so even if it doesn't sell as much as the competition, they still actually make money.
Nintendo owns the handheld market, the Wii has sold almost 100 million consoles and the Wii U is set to launch later this year. I guess I just don't see where the doom and gloom comes from as far as Nintendo'...
Sounds like it's a pretty good game, this is definitely one I'll be picking up when I get my Vita.
EA is the worst thing to happen to Bioware. I love Bioware's games, but the quality has diminished since EA took over and the emphasis on the DLC is ever higher.
I avoid trying to get DLC, at least at first. I did buy all the DLC for ME2 when Microsoft ran a deal a couple of years ago and everything was really cheap.
I want to support games like Mass Effect and companies like Bioware, but I hate supporting EA in a big, big way.
Call Of Duty isn't crap, it might not be groundbreaking anymore but it's still a fun game. Some of the earlier ones are really amazing, maybe not so much now days since the franchise has decided to get more complicated instead of keeping things simple.
Also, in what world is Halo crap? Every single Halo game I've ever played was stellar. I like Mass Effect and Uncharted as well, but you cant blame other games that are in a totally different genre for the lack of ...
It's like buying gasoline for our cars, if the entire US didn't buy gas for a whole day then the prices would plummet.
DLC is like that, if people didn't pay out for it, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in.
The problem is that there will always be people that don't mind paying out for things that should be included.
I remember when I first heard of DLC, I was using the original Xbox and it was all free, KOTOR and even Star Wars B...
I kind of doubt it, Mass Effect 2 didn't sell particularly well on the PS3 and even if it sells 3 million on the Xbox 360 I just don't see it selling 2 million on PS3.
Maybe with PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 it might hit 5 million. Not that the sales really ever mean much to me, Mass Effect has been one of my favorite IP's this generation.
Sales only matter so that we can keep seeing these games produced.
How is episodic games like Alan Wake not good for gamers? Did you play the first one? It was all played out like different episodes of a show or movie. It fit perfectly in with what they were trying to do.
Doing it in episodes keeps the storytelling fresh and keeps the developers from having to drag things out.
Episodic doesn't mean digital download only, the article is simply referring to the way the full Alan Wake game was played out in different epis...
I am probably in the minority but I didn't want an open world Alan Wake, I liked it how it was. The episodic format was perfect for the atmosphere of the game and it offered great storytelling with solid game mechanics.
People are complaining that Alan Wake is too linear, but I've played way more linear games than Alan Wake, Gears Of War, Uncharted, Call Of Duty, Battlefield and about 300 other games this generation.
I think people wanted Alan Wake to...
It's possible for them to announce the next Xbox this year, but only if they plan on releasing it this year. They wouldn't shoot themselves in the foot like Nintendo did last year, causing people not to buy the current console.
I thought for sure they'd announce a successor this year, but with the year the Xbox 360 and Kinect had last year, it's hard to argue with those sales figures and I'm sure Microsoft is loving the money they are making.
I could see Microsoft offering an arcade model for a much cheaper price again next generation. Not sure if Sony will though, it would probably be smart for them to do so, but who knows?
Nintendo is harder to gauge, they really need to at least have an option for a console with a HDD.
It's easy to end the speculation, Microsoft owns the console publishing rights to Alan Wake. They green lit Remedy to self publish it on PC because it's not a competing platform.
I know Remedy owns the IP, but Microsoft was smart and own the publishing rights. Originally it was supposed to be multiplatform, but Microsoft paid a lot of money to fund the game itself and for the rights.
Glad Alan Wake is getting so much attention, but lets be fair, Microsof...
This is definitely not going to win many over to digital download. I thought the whole idea behind digital was to save people substantial money?
I've always preferred physical media for many reasons, but I think Digital has it's place, just not with me anytime soon.
I'm really looking forward to this, I liked the single player campaign in Medal Of Honor 2010, the online was a bit of a joke in my opinion though. I am glad they are handling the online in house this time, had the online operated like the game did for the campaign it might have been my new favorite FPS game. The ability to switch between burst fire and automatic was really cool, too bad it wasn't in the online portion, same with going prone.
I'll be keeping an e...
Glad to see this game getting positive recognition, now hopefully we'll get the full sequel. Amazing arcade title for the price.
@SwampCroc
Twin Snakes came out on the Gamecube, Metal Gear Solid 2 came out on the Xbox 360. Metal Gear is by no means a exclusive game.
I'm not saying for sure, I would get it on the Sony platform anyway, as that's what I'm used to, but if it's next gen, it'll probably be multiplatform like Rising.
This is a pretty interesting move, definitely trying to lure people into Killzone. It might pay off, I know I'll be downloading it to try it out.
This could be the start of an interesting trend, imagine if all the companies started doing this? We could see Killzone, Resistance, Halo, Gears Of War all going in this direction.
That would be great for gamers and it would probably lure in a lot of new customers.
This is sort of what Cliffy B ...
This is absurd, why in the world wouldn't they keep the controller the way it is? I mean I could see a tweak here or there, but I don't think they are going to change it drastically to something else, especially when so many people are used to the one they have now.
