So because I said I'd rather have some quality games over quantity and the fact that I said it's a tough economy so companies aren't taking risks like in the past means I'm on a high horse?
As for the "$150" camera talk, Microsoft didn't actually come out with many games from their own developers for the device, it leads me to believe they are working on next generation games.
Even Rare didn't do Kinect Sports Season 2, it wa...
Nintendo seems to have a pretty solid lineup for the 3DS, I'm really interested to see if Nintendo pulls things together for the Wii U at this years E3.
I'm very interested to see what Nintendo has to show, more interested in a price point. If they can show me a new console with HD Zelda, Mario, Metroid ect... and price it $350 or lower, I think they will do well.
I kind of find this hard to believe for a number of reasons. First, I Am Alive was in production for a long time now and unless Sony and ND are into giving away there secrets, I doubt this is why it's digital only now.
Secondly, Last Of Us is a PS3 exclusive, while I Am Alive is multiplatform, there would have been an audience for the game on a whole separate console.
I tend to think they didn't have enough content for a full AAA release and that is ...
Heavy Rain was pretty good, maybe they will come out with a sequel some day?
I'm not sure how there can be so many trolls in this article and yet the mods allow it.
Years ago when I bought a PS3 I heard the same things, Sony has no games, but now when Microsoft slows down production of games presumably to focus on the next generation we are hearing the same bunk arguments.
Like the early days of the PS3, I'll take quality titles from Microsoft over quantity. The Same goes for Nintendo and Sony. I could care less if any compa...
The reason for this article is obviously someone is feeling left out.
So because I like Kinect and think these voice controls are cool I must work for Microsoft?
Troll logic I guess..... Good luck with that.
This article isn't really so much about sales right now as opposed to the overall success of the PS3 as in comparison to the PS1 and PS2.
Do you actually think Sony envisioned selling only what they've sold, especially in North America after they so thoroughly dominated the past two generations there?
Are you arrogant enough to really think Sony hasn't made mistakes this generation that has cost them a huge piece of the market share.
As much as I like all the consoles, you cant make so many excuses for the one you prefer. At this point in the life-cycle of the PS1 and PS2 they were so far ahead you couldn't even call it a console war.
It's obvious the PS3 has some quality games, but it wasn't always that way. It's also obvious the PS3 is quality and powerful, but power doesn't all of a sudden mean it's the best or that it will do well.
Even though Sony doesn't ...
I think the voice controls are looking great in Mass Effect 3, everyone was complaining saying it was tacked on and worthless when it was shown at E3 and now that it looks pretty darn good people are changing their tune and feeling left out?
People are bringing up voice controls on games that didn't really work that well in the past, Endwar was really bad at recognizing voice commands. In comparison, Halo CE Anniversary has voice commands very similar to the ones in Mass ...
This game was the whole reason I bought a Move, I really wish Sony would make more of an effort to make Move only titles, I spent quite a bit on two sets so my brother and myself can play, but there is a serious lack of Move only titles on the market.
Thankfully Sorcery looks fantastic. Cant wait to pick it up!
This is exactly what I've been saying, Xbox 360 has switched it's focus to entertainment and casual gaming to appeal to a broader audience. I fully expect the next Xbox to have a more core launch.
Every company switches focus at one time or another, we've been seeing far too many "rumors" about the next Xbox for it not to be true.
Microsoft opened 4 new studios last year alone, bought Twisted Pixel, Is hiring at Lionhead and Rare and Cry...
@The_Nameless_One
I kind of doubt Microsoft had to pay Bioware to add Kinect controls. Bioware has a fantastic relationship with Microsoft and Microsoft probably only needed ask for some sort of Kinect integration.
I find it funny so many people complained saying Kinect could never be used for anything "core" and now that it is and it looks like it works well, people are still finding reasons to complain.
I guess you cant please everyone, b...
I'm loving all the Kinect integration, I knew Microsoft was onto something with Forza Motorsport 4, the Kinect features in that were simply amazing.
Halo CE Anniversary had voice commands sort of like this, worked flawlessly and you tend to really get caught up in the action.
To those saying a standard headset can do this, it cant. It has to do with processing power, Kinect knows which words do what, and it responds. A typical headset with voice commands ...
I'm definitely looking forward to it, I probably wont be able to pick one up till after the Summer though, hard to spend so much money on a handheld right after the Holidays.
Uncharted is looking sick for it for certain.
Actually it takes quite a bit of processing power to do the voice commands like they are in Kinect, there are some articles floating around where Bioware explains why it can only be done with Kinect.
I think the Kinect integration is really looking good, they had similar voice commands with Halo CE Anniversary and it worked flawlessly.
Hopefully it works just as good here.
Crytek has already been working on Ryse for years now. Tell me anywhere in the link you posted that Microsoft said they weren't showing a new console at E3.
I read the whole thing, he said they weren't announcing anything at the moment.
Microsoft can still make money off the Xbox 360, it'll still be produced but with a more entertainment and casual audience.
It's pretty clear Microsoft will announce something this year and E...
"At the moment we have nothing to announce." He didn't exactly say anything about this E3, which is still months away.
If you want to continue selling hardware, you don't come out and say we got a new one ready to come out. In part that is what is killing the current Wii. That thing would have still sold really well had they held off on announcing the Wii U until this years E3.
If you look at what's been going on recently, it all adds up...
It'll have Blu Ray, It's come down in price enough to be cost effective.
Someone a lot of people don't realize is that Microsoft and Sony work together often on other projects, there are tons of Microsoft PC's that have Blu Ray in them.
Sony actually holds one of the patents on the tech in DVD, so Microsoft had to pay a percentage to them for that as well. There will be no difference with Blu Ray.
The only reason they couldn...
Gaming has always been a gimmick, it's a gimmick to get our money. As different things become popular the gimmicks change.
Back in the day the gimmick was rumble packs, then analog controllers, then touch screen and now it's full motion controls.
Yet the standard controller remains. I think there is room for both, but you have to expect these companies which are businesses to run them as such. You have to make money in order to be successful. Which ...
I bought 7 exclusives spanning 3 consoles in 2011, Sony might have released more exclusives and they might all very well be quality, but they certainly didn't all appeal to me as a gamer.
I bought Uncharted 3, Little Big Planet 2 and Resistance 3 for the PS3, I bought Forza 4, Gears 3 and Halo CEA for the Xbox 360 and I bought Zelda Skyward Sword for the Wii.
I have different tastes and Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft combined do a good job of giving me soli...
