There would be plenty of third party support for it, and Microsoft has around 18 first party studios now. They opened 4 new ones in 2011 alone, plus they purchased Twisted Pixel.
I wouldn't expect a ton of their bigger first party studios to work on games for a simple handheld, but plenty of internal ones, pretty much the way Sony has internal studios handle their portable games.
It's not like Sony Santa Monica did God Of War for the PSP, or ND did U...
Oh call off the dogs man, as for proprietary memory cards, you mean like the ones for the Vita? Also, I'd imagine if you had XBL on a console, it'd carry over to the handheld as well.
The handheld equivalent of Kinect is already out there, it's the 3DS and Vita, both have touch screens.
Points for trying to troll and being a smart-ass though.
Well I'm not in England, I'm an American..but I'd be into a Microsoft handheld big time. I already have a 3DS and I want to get a Vita sometime this year.
I imagine a Microsoft handheld would use Xbox Live to take online handheld gaming to the next level. Plus, I'd love to play some games like Gears Of War and especially Halo on the go.
They could even port over some original Xbox titles to it. Would be pretty cool if they did it properly.
It's not a rumor, it's a Kinect XBLA title. They are getting a ton of great content for Kinect via the XBLA these days.
Cant wait to see more on this.
Things are starting to heat up now, I'd love a Killer Instinct game on the 360. It would be about freaking time, also, Microsoft wouldn't necessarily have to let Rare work on "Rare" titles, I could see them internally working on something like Conker, or letting Twisted Pixel work on it. I think Twisted Pixel has the old Rare kind of humor and attitude. If you played Gunstringer or Splosion Man you know what I mean.
Kinect Adventures sold almost 38,000 copies, which means almost 38,000 Kinect's were sold. I wonder why they don't count those in a category with consoles?
Nice sales all around, I want to get a Vita and Uncharted for it so bad, but I will have to wait a bit first...
It would be crazy for Microsoft to not mention Kinect, especially when they've put 500 million dollars worth of advertising into it.
Also, it's sold almost 20 million units in a little over a year and there are plenty of people that are interested in some actual games for it.
Just do what I did, buy a HDD from Dealextreme.
320 gig-$51 http://www.dealextreme.com/...
120 gig is only $35 http://www.dealextreme.com/...
I've had two of these HDD in two Xbox 360 slims at ...
Well we know Lionhead has a clock counting down that ends in March, so maybe that will be a new game announcement right there.
It's always good to speculate and wonder what is ahead as far as games are concerned. One thing is for sure, it's going to be hard to top 2011.
I'd buy the full retail game, make sure you buy it new to support the developer.
They aren't going to scrap Fable The Journey, that was already using Unreal 3.
It's probably Fable 4 running on Unreal 4, if it were to have Kinect compatibility it'd be voice controls or minigame controls only.
This could also be the MMORPG that they were supposed to be working on. I'm excited, I honestly love all the Fable games, even though people tend to bust on them for not delivering EVERYTHING, they still are above average and one of m...
Well I never trade in anything, still have my Move and Kinect. Hopefully Sorcery proves worth something. As for Kinect, I'll be using mine with Mass Effect 3, also Crimson Dragon (Formerly Project Draco), Fable The Journey, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor and for it's uses in Ghost Recon and Halo 4 obviously.
Why lose money on something when there could always be a great app or reason to keep it?
Well the price of the PS3 at launch might have had something to do with the lack of sales and a missed opportunity.
I have a launch PS3 as well, which plays PS2 games and up-converts them to HD, so it's curious you say you prefer to use your PS2 to play PS2 games, especially since the PS3 fits them to widescreen and puts them is HD.
Anyway, imagine if you could get a PS3 slim that had BC for $249? I think those would sell like hotcakes. I still play PS2 ...
I'm not really surprised, the PS2 was epic and is an example on how to do a console right. I happen to have a backwards compatible launch PS3, so I sold my PS2 a long time ago, still play some of the old PS2 library from time to time in upconverted HD on the PS3 though.
I don't think Sony will continue to make first party games for the PSP, how could they? They need to focus all efforts from their studios on the Vita, so that it can be a success. That doesn't mean...
Well the issue with Move is that it lacks Move only titles that make it worth owning. I bought one because of Sorcery, I admit that, and I will be buying that game when it releases.
The problem is that Sony is slapping Move support on titles that don't really need it. I wouldn't give up standard controllers for games like Killzone or Little Big Planet.
I'm hoping that Sony starts to put out some quality killer apps in the future for the Move.
Kind of ignorant for the author to suggest Lionhead's next game could come to the PS3, since it's a first party Microsoft studio.
Unreal 4 could very well be used with the next Fable game, I've always thought the Fable games looked great as it was, but Fable 4 on Unreal 4 would make perfect sense. Lionhead is already using Unreal tech for Fable The Journey, and from what we've seen, that game at least looks good, even if if were not sure it's a good game. ...
Well Cliffy B from Epic Games had a similar idea a few weeks ago. He suggested "Lite versions" of games where you could pay for either the MP or SP portions of games. That is sort of what this is, but with a bit of free play to see if you like it.
I also said it'd be cool if they did, I never said they for sure would. It's a good idea and could bring in a whole new influx of players.
This is a solid idea and I like it a lot, I think it would be cool if other companies did the same thing, imagine Resistance, Halo, Gears Of War and games like those all free to play for a bit. A lot of people would get into the franchises and it'd actually help sell more copies of the games.
Major props to Sony for starting this, I know I didn't buy Killzone 3 because I wasn't a fan of Killzone 2, but I'll definitely download this and give it a try.
Well this would be a feather in the cap for Nintendo. I'm sure Nintendo has had some fans that went with another console for 3rd party games, either the PS3 or Xbox 360. Now it looks like people will be able to play the same games on the Wii U that they play on the Xbox and PlayStation.
Nintendo definitely needs 3rd party support to really be successful with the Wii U.
Looks to me like half the people commenting on this article are trolling and yet have more agrees then disagrees. Last I checked, competition is good and choices are even better.
I'm kind of shocked to see the level of trolling and unfriendly comments in here. I realize the article is based on a limited supply of people questioned, but it's no more limited then the people questioned about RROD years ago, yet we accept that as fact and this isn't some how?
