well thats not true, i am buying the game on launch.
ill be buying it from EB though, so if its not enough of an improvement over the disappointing GT4 i will take EB up on their no questions asked full refund policy.
lol
my point was that even the BIGGEST name PS3 games can only manage 2-3 million sales when brand new with all the hype in the world behind them, so what chance does a 12 month old game that most would have played on PC or 360 already have?
the fact that you couldnt understand that boggles my mind.
why WOULD it sell well?
God of War 3, probably the most hyped exclusive game of this generation apart from GT5, only managed 2.8 million in what, 5 months?
Killzone 2, probably the third most hyped game this generation, only managed just over 2 million worldwide since release.
Mass Effect 2, a game that will have come out 12 months earlier on PC and 360, a game that is a sequel to a game that isnt on the PS3, a game that every PS3 fanboy unde...
you GT fanboys hate on Forza for having the OPTION to rewind in races.
you GT fanboys hate on Forza for having the OPTION to auto-brake/accelerate.
you GT fanboys hate on Forza for having OPTIONS for how damage shows and affects its cars.
so really, whos the joke?
go karting looks ok, but i dont want a go karting simulator so its inclusion doesnt really mean anything to me. it wont make me want the game anymore, but it also wont make me NOT ...
i could be wrong, but are they sure that arch thing is in st louis? i went to the states recently and travelled down to mexico for a day, and they have a big arch like that too.

geez, 2.8 million copies is pretty dreadful for a game of God of War 3s hype and standing amongst the video game community.
but hey, i never expected it to sell 4+ million - and i even said as much on here multiple times when people stated itd be the highest selling exclusive of the year - because God of War 1 and 2 both failed to even reach the 3 million mark iirc. and thats on a console with an install base of 150+ million.
good game, mediocre sales for a b...
mass effect 2 coming to PS3 in no way hurts microsoft. remember, this is a game thats already nearly 8 months old, and will be 12 months old by the time the PS3 gets it. everyone who wanted to play it probably already has.
its good for sony, and PS3-only people, as now they can play the brilliance that is Mass Effect 2. question is, will the PS3 fanboys on here who said it wasnt good and that they didnt want it on PS3 now change their tune that theyre getting it?
they should give a free upgrade because PlayTV is a hardware peripheral, with updatable software. they promised software upgrades, now it looks like youll have to buy a whole new PlayTV instead. why bother making it updatable via software if youre just going to release new hardware to replace it 12 months later?
then what, 12 months after PlayTV 2 comes out they announce PlayTV 3, requiring you to pay ANOTHER $160 for it? absolute rubbish.
3DTVs and LCDs are ...
nah, its not a full sized replica.
i also find it funny that they have a picture of Reach's Legendary Edition there, despite the fact that its genuinely going to be 'limited edition'. mcfarlane toys arent going to keep hand painting and numbering Reach statues for the next 12 months. if you didnt preorder and dont get one of the initial shipment, youre not getting one unless you go second hand.
wait, what?
"You can still easily find the horrible Halo 3 Legendary edition in many video game shop"
how can a great looking replica helmet of the main character of one of the biggest video game franchises in history be 'horrible'?
well this is a kick in the balls to everyone who bought playTV not too long ago. will we get a free upgrade or anything like that? cause im sure as hell not going to be happy if they want me to pay ANOTHER $160 for this, on top of the $160 i paid for PlayTV originally.
@moparful99: "Its no different then all of those people who buy avatar costumes and accesories on the 360..."
it is different actually. with Avatar Games becoming more and more popular on the 360, buying clothes/costumes for your avatar means that your in-game avatar will look different too.
not that ive ever paid for avatar clothes/items or ever would lol. just wanted to point out that it is different to buying a theme, as themes only affect the me...
thats ID though, they made the engine.
it would take other developers years to get the hang of, and also get their head around having to physically draw and create EVERY pixel in the entire game world.
and personally, i dont care if a brick wall texture gets reused on other brick walls, or a road texture gets reused on other roads - do you? cause making all of that alone unique would take a significant more amount of time than the regular engines way of doin...
this is GOOD news.
how long as Rage been in development? does it even have a release date yet? i remember 3 years ago when all the PS3 fanboys were saying this game was the death of DVD and the 360 because it needs blu-ray, and i pointed out that the game wont be out til at least 2011 (this was in like 2007 btw) and that most games wont use this engine because of the ENORMOUS amount of time it takes to create the 'megatextures'.
do you want Uncharted ...
if the 360s software sales are crappy, what does that make the non-existant PS3 software sales?
1 PS3 game in the top 10. there are 4 360 games in the top 10.
and its funny that people laugh at Crackdown 2s sales......remind me, where on the top 10 sales lists did ModNationRacers place? oh it didnt even make it on there? too bad hey. hell, even Killzone/Uncharted 2/MGS4 etc only place on there for a single month, never to be seen again.
Q4 o...
sigh....
this is 2D tracking, not 3D. Kinect does 3D as well as 2D. please, done turn a topic about a pretty fun looking game turn into a kinect bash-fest purely because people that dont understand the technology at work dont like one company but blindly love another.
"After all the nonsense about Milo, A.I, 1:1, Minority Report, 3d tracking,etc.."
well lets look at Dance Central:
1:1 mapping? check.
minority report menu control? check.
3d tracking? check.
it doesnt need AI as its a rhythm game, so that rules out the other 2 points. also, AI was never being touted as a new thing with Kinect. the ability to recognise voice and gestures is new, but not AI.
ill buy...
to build hype.
sony do it with pretty much every first party title. when was GT5 announced? when was Last Guardian announced? when was Killzone 2 announced? etc etc.
if you dont build hype, you might not sell copies. sure, it sucks knowing you have to wait 2 years for this game. but now you know its coming, you can get the hype machine rolling for them.
very few developers announce games within 12 months of release. Turn 10 did it with Forza ...
i agree with you on your main points.
akimbo/commando CAN suck......but i personally get great amounts of fun in killing the people that ONLY use commando/lightweight/marathon/ tac knife all match, every match. same with people that only camp, or people that noob tube, etc. i love killing them over and over and over and listening to them get all angry and abusive lol.
if someone does something cheap to kill me, im the type of person that will firstly kill the...
"The problem with having the OPTION to rewind is that cuz you know you can rewind whenever you want it turns you into a lazy driver,"
you might play like that, but i dont. i pretty much dont use rewind unless i get rammed off the track by some stupid AI, or an OUTSIDE SOURCE causes something to happen in the game. ie. my dog/cat knocks something over and i look away for a few seconds without pausing, someone knocks on the door, etc. its called self control. dont bla...
