can i ask why people are making call of duty comparisons? is it because both call of duty and ssx have people, and people in snowy environments? cause last time i checked, i didnt get to play any snowboarding levels in COD where i do crazy tricks? did you play a different COD to me or something?
the trailer shows the same sort of tricks that were in previous SSX games, and shows a new twist that should be awesome - the gliding suit.
wow, the amount of scared GT/Sony fanboys in this comments section is amazing lol.
Forza 4 will be 100% playable without kinect - but if you have kinect, there will be some extra things you can do.
since its blindingly obvious that most of you never even played Forza 3, ill give you a bit of insight into how Kinect will work with Forza - and theyve already showed it working remember. Forza 3 has lots and lots and lots of optional driver aids for users to turn...
its not free unless you pay for PS+ though.
its a PSN game, and should be reviewed as such - like it or not. and like it or not, its not very good.
its in-engine, but none of it is actual in-game graphics until right at the end when the screen starts showing different parts in split screen.
its the same way that Alan Wakes cutscenes are in-engine, but not really "in-game". Uncharted and Alan Wake both swap out character models for super high detailed ones in cutscenes. you NEVER see those character models while youre controlling the character.
thats great, but im saying it should all be on the website too.
and the data logger doesnt blow my mind - viewing all the telemetry in real-time in forza 3 blows my mind. GT5s version is pale in comparison.
@dragon82: "I am pretty sure since Nentendo and Sony are both Japanese companies they both care more about Japan just like Microsoft cares more about the US."
incorrect. Nintendo and Sony know that North America and Europe are where console wars are won, not Japan. Japan has only sold ~5 million PS3s to date. Microsoft just sold 25% of that number of 360s in a SINGLE MONTH in the US.
Sony dont care about Japan more than the US, because Japan is a MU...
hopefully they add more stuff to it, cause atm theres basically nothing there other than a friends list. how about a race history so you can see where you finished in your last however many races? how about the ability to look through your garage? how about the ability to watch 2d top-down replays of your races to see which corners you need to improve?
and this is why 2D motion DETECTION - like the PSEye - will never be as good as 3D motion TRACKING - like Kinect.
basically, in every frame the PSEye captures, it has to try and figure out where your body is, and then basically tries to 'erase' the rest of the frame to get only your body to display. like the review says, this is all well and good against a green-screen, as the camera knows anything thats not green is your body. in real life situations however, it just...
the thing is, most of the fanboys of this generation would have no idea what the 32X was, let alone realise just how bad of an idea it was to begin with - and as such why this patent is a terrible idea.
the 32X was great, dont get me wrong. it brought 3D graphics to the megadrive, along with some great games.
but it was destined to fail as it completely fragmented the market, making it hard for developers.
sigh....
Sony/PD yet again claiming that supersampled, higher-LOD pictures are 'in game screenshots'........but whats even worse is that the usual suspects all fall for it yet again. theyre the ones who believed all the 'in game' screenshots of GT5 were real, despite being from a view other than directly behind/in front of/inside the car - which is the only way you can play GT. theyre the ones who believed that Uncharted 2 had 16xMSAA with individually modelle...
they are HUGE numbers for the 360. i guess that pretty much lays to rest any thoughts that Kinect wasnt going to sell or push consoles.
be interesting to see the December numbers, thats for sure. if the 360 sold that many in November, imagine what it could do with Christmas sales.
and to those STILL going on about the US not being the whole world - no $hit sherlock. but it IS the biggest video game region in the world. and dont even try and pretend that Japan...
how many free PSN games are there? im yet to see a single one........
indiana jones 4 was bad enough, i dont want to see a game ripping off indiana jones made into a movie.
its funny that he says other reviewers have been making false claims, and then in his own review says that damage unlocks at level 20, and then full damage unlocks at level 40 lol. we know this is 100% false, we've been playing the game for 2 weeks lol.
the point is, if you want to play this game when it comes out in a few days time then you HAVE to get it on the xbox 360.
and to all those people going on and on about microsoft paying for this exclusivity - there has been NOTHING said to even remotely suggest this. maybe the PSN version isnt finished? maybe it didnt pass sonys certifications but it passed microsofts? we just dont know.
either way, ill be buying it on XBLA the day it comes out.
can i ask why i got bombarded with disagrees?
is this game running on the LBP2 engine? no.
is this game short with little replay value? yes. it only has 10 levels, with no collectables.
is this game a demo? no. its a PSN game that you have to pay for, unless youre a PS+ subscriber then you get it for 'free'. it also has trophies, further cementing the fact that its not a demo.
are people bagging IGN for reviewing this game? yes, because they j...
its not a piece of LBP2 though - its running on the original LBP engine, not the upgraded LBP2 one.
its LBP + Move, and like the review said, its short and pretty boring with basically no replay value since there are no collectibles. hence the 6.5/10.
and to the people bagging IGN for reviewing a 'demo' - unless you subscribe to the voucher-book PS+ you have to BUY this 'demo'. also, if its just a 'demo' then why does it have trophies...
clearly you havent played Gears 2 online since Title Update 6 like 6+ months ago.
Gears 2 works brilliantly online now - client side hit detection on more guns, region filters, and better matchmaking.
what i find funny about this article/game is that people still for some reason seem to think that Epic Games are making Bulletstorm - theyre not! Bulletstorm is made by People Can Fly, with Epic just kinda there to help them with the engine (since its made using...
yes, bulky. watch this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
at about 45 seconds, look how freaking thick that phone is. its gotta be at least twice as thick as all the other smartphones out there atm.
Big_Dom is right though.
Uncharted 2 uses better anti-aliasing, higher LOD character models, higher resolution textures, post processing effects, and other things like that in their 'in-engine' cutscenes than they do in-game. why? because cutscenes dont have any player input, and theyre the same every time, so they can throw all the processing power at exactly what they want.
it is a noticable difference between cutscene and in-game, especially aliasi...
