1 interesting thing that comes up in this article is the implementation on the PC version of a new type of Anti-Aliasing that will work on the consoles, that is BETTER than the MLAA solution for the PS3 because it does the same AA but also takes care of sub-pixel issues that sonys MLAA has. and it runs off the GPU, giving the 360 an advantage in running it.
as for the game........well being a fan of duke nukem for 15+ years, i dont think i should play this :(
@gaden_malak:
ok then, lets look at the PS3 exclusives that Trials HD is rated higher than or equal to overall....
Resistance Fall of Man, inFamous 2, PixelJunk Eden Encore, Joe Danger, The Sly Collection, MLB 08: The Show, Super Stardust HD, inFamous, MotorStorm, Warhawk, Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5, PixelJunk Monsters, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Everyday Shooter, SingStar, PixelJunk Shooter 2, ModNation Racers, PixelJunk Monsters Encore, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift,...
people defending this tv are overlooking one thing - your whole library of split-screen PS3 games arent magically going to work on this and give you a full screen each.
not a SINGLE game released up until this day will support this full-screen split-screen. not a single one. none. that right there kills off that 'advantage' of this tv. a game has to be made specifically with this feature in mind because the PS3 has to render 2 full sized frames instead of 2 half-sized...
for the people that didnt actually read the article, the single player campaign is 2 discs, and the multiplayer is the 3rd disc. so there will be 1 swap of discs during the single player campaign, no big deal. then when youre done with single player, you only need to use 1 disc for multiplayer.
im fine with 3 discs, itd be the first legitimate 2 or more disc 360 game ive owned in 5+ years of ownership (forza 3 and odst dont count as they are 100% playable start to finish with...
"If the interrupt button is pressed, the event will be interrupted and a player’s record up to that point will be saved, and the game will end. The next time the player starts the game, they can continue the championship race from where they left off.
FINALLY!
despite what people seem to be saying, this looks like a pretty decent update to me. i stopped playing it long ago though, so its all lost on me.
maybe the 360 version isnt ready yet because they KNOW they can get it working on the 360, and theyve been spending the majority of their time on the PS3 version to make sure it all works on there first?
makes sense to me as a developer. if you get the hard one out of the way, it makes doing the easy one even easier afterwards.
maybe the fact that its a high powered RWD ferrari could have something to do with the oversteer?
you do know that it is INCREDIBLY easy to make even a low powered RWD car oversteer, dont you? hell its easy enough to get the rear end of my WRX to start sliding out, and thats AWD.
seems to me like youre just looking for reasons to not like it because youre a sony fanboy.
@jerethdagryphon: Forza has done multiple screen gameplay since LOOOOOOO...
lol obviously all the people mentioning the bieber tshirt didnt actually watch the video because he specifically mentions why hes wearing it.
when he was supposed to announce gears 3 on jimmy fallon, he got bumped off at the last minute - microsoft said it was to make some changes to the trailer, but it was actually because justin bieber became available to go on the show. they bumped cliffy/epic for bieber, hence the bieber shirt.
also note in the interview ...
im still waiting for the PSP to be able to act as a secondary controller/screen for the PS3 - remember, that was announced BEFORE the launch of the PS3 and it STILL hasnt happened.
what makes you think the PSVita will actually make it happen?
people need to realise that as much as they love Naughty Dog, they are a sony first party company, 100% owned by sony. as such, basically EVERY media release/interview they do has had their answers/statements carefully worded to make sony look good.
this isnt a new thing - all first party developers do it. theyre not about to say 'yeah theres not much more power left in console x, its old' when their boss makes console x.
before a game comes out, the...
how are people saying that was a better conference than Microsofts? seriously?
Sonys was booooooooooooring. lets see what we got:
- Uncharted 3: already seen this game, already know about it.
- some new Move games: noone really cares.
- PSVita: great to have a release price, but really, we've already seen game demos etc on it. it wasnt a new reveal or anything groundbreaking/exciting.
- a 24" playstation tv: 24". twenty. ...
im sorry, how do people think that $499 for a 24" tv is a GOOD price???!?!?!
who uses a 24" tv these days? shouldve been at LEAST 32", but 40" wouldve been ideal. the only people who would use a 24" are people who sit at a desk to play their console, for anyone else its way too small.
and that, sony fanboys, is how cloud saving should be done.
none of this manually having to upload/download backups of saves - either choose to save the game to your console or the cloud and away you go.
and FINALLY we dont have to use the painfully long gamertag recover anymore! it hasnt affected me for years because i have my profile on a memory card, but this just makes using my profile at other peoples houses even easier.
haters gonna hate.
personally i think it looked great. love the gameplay from MW/MW2/Black Ops, so it looks like ill love this.
really, the guys whinging about this are the type of people who whinge about Madden because they dont like NFL - of course a new game in the series wont change your mind. COD is COD, its not going to suddenly try and reinvent the wheel.
and its funny because i bet half of the people complaining about it being full of...
Microsoft already offer Cable/Pay TV over Xbox Live here in Australia, via Foxtel for Xbox Live.
$20/month gets you about 30 PayTV channels. this same package through the actual PayTV provider would cost about $60-$70 a month - its a great deal, and it works absolutely brilliantly (provided you have the internet speeds to handle it, and the download limit of about 600mb per hour).
lol at the "this is only the US" people.
you fail to realise that the US is the single largest video game market in the WORLD. it accounts for basically >50% of the worldwide sales of video games. there are 3 markets in the video game world - North America, Europe, and "everywhere else". the first 2 make up probably 90% of the market, with the "everywhere else" making up the rest. if you win EITHER of the big 2 markets, youre here to stay.
you seem to mistakenly think that having an xbox live ACCOUNT get hacked is the same as the actual NETWORK getting hacked lol.
hacking a single account only requires you to get their email address and password. if you know their password, you can often just get their password by guessing (if you know the person) or by the 'brute force' method. that doesnt mean the NETWORK has been compromised, just that account.
Sonys entire PS network was compromised...
excellent news for Microsoft and the 360.
terrible news for the 'the 360 has no exclusives' sony fanboys.
some good info in the interview too:
"We decided to release on 360 after the PC because we weren't sure about being able to move forward simultaneously on two platforms with the required focus. And compromise was out of the question since it would affect the quality on both. So, we decided to go our own way – for which o...
@jony_dols: "With the exception of the best game in the series (MGS4), it has always been a multiplatform franchise."
epic lolz if you really think MGS4 is the best game in the series. MGS 1-3 were all FAR superior to MGS4 in pretty much every way apart from graphics. MGS1 is the best in the series IMO, with 3 not far behind, then 2 not far behind, then 4 a distant last.
i *might* pick this up, my PS2 was on its last legs last time i played it 4-5 y...
i HOPE all xbox games support kinect in the future.
do i want to play Gears with kinect? no. do i want to play Halo with kinect? no. do i want to play....you get the point.
but have any of you actually seen the integration of kinect into forza? now if you dont have kinect, you still get the game 100% as it would be without kinect ever being invented. but if you DO have kinect, you get HEAPS of extra cool little things.
the main thing that is ...
