I hope it finds a good home on the Wii U. I played it on PC and it was just as charming as the original and with twice the shiny.
I don't play Call of Duty, but nice try. To me, lengthy set pieces are just as boring as watching a movie while I play my game.
Lengthy cutscenes... I knew it. I knew the moment it was being overpraised for its story that the cutscenes were going to try my patience. I'll keep my distance from this one.
I'd like to see a continuation in the Shattered Soldier series.
How in the... who in the... what in the F'in hell convinced them that the gamer niche that cherishes this series ever had the slightest desire in a multiplayer LoK game?
Reread what the article says, than read lucidity's 2nd post above.
Then reevaluate your reading comprehensions skills.
LOL. ANd just the other day you were ready to cut the throat of Polygon and bleed it dry. Your actions and everyone else hear was the complete opposite of Naughty Dogs, now you're all praising them like they;ve done what you were all along.
Lame. Now just get me the first Blood Omen on GOG.com so I can forget about any of this new crap.
You're all just butt hurt because apparently a video game getting 10's across the board is some sort of lifetime achievement for people that had no input at all during a games development.
It's one score. I don't see M$ twirling their mustache happily now that TLOU isn't a 10/10 game. Besides, these were just embargoed reviews. Wait till everyone starts reviewing the game, that score isn't going to sit at 96 metacritic.
Give it up already.
Oh noes!!
That would be like banning someone from a leper colony.
Double standards with n4g users. Typical
Alright! It is about damn time.
And the story is enough to warrant a 9/10.
Yawn, so predictable with reviewers these days. I imagine if given a book and told to review it, they might focus on the grain of the paper rather than the words on it.
How is anybody actually surprised by this news? It's Peter Molyneux. The man hasn't had a decent game since Black and White.
lol, by the time the xbox 360 can be considered retro every last one of them will have RROD'd
That's fine and a good thing too. As long as it doesn't play out like this:
gameplay (5min) >>> set piece (3-10min) >>> cutscene (5-10min) >>> Repeat
Then maybe it deserves the high scores.
I'm too jaded from the movement towards cinematic nonsense that strips games of actual gameplay so the developers can show you how awesome they can design an easily overcome set piece that at least looks cool.
I don't own a PS3 anymore, but if this game is anything like UC2 and UC3, I can't help but expect a game that will shove its cinematic importance down my throat until I submit.
I'm willing to bet this game is just a 3rd person shooter with light platforming and survival horror elements. Remove the gameplay and you have a great story. Factor in the gameplay and you have a huge meh, but the story was great wasn't it? 10/10 if this generations reviewing tracks...
Doesn't seem too legit for me.
DXHR is released, mass exodus of employees from Eidos Montreal.
Loss of employees causes major setback for development of Thief 4.
Where did they find the time to make a full blown sequel to HR?
Well Kojima, you could start by making your running animation not look like it came from the PS2 era.
Then you could remove all the nonsensical dialog.
If there's a monkey involved, please edit it out.
Oh yea, you could make a game that's not Metal Gear.
