None except for in certain films. They're never beyond gratuity to me, unless it's a movie explicitly about sex like Shame, Secretary, or Crash.
What is the point of sex scenes in a video game anyway?
Wow, I didn't think people cared enough so much about the Killzone story. They're barely a step above a CoD game, but ya'll rip those games plots to shreds for no reason other than it being a CoD game.
The Chinese Room needs to whore itself out as writers. That's all they're good at it.
Frictional is a pretty fantastic developer but this needs to be a greater leap than Amnesia was from Penumbra in the gameplay department, otherwise I sense their fanbase is going to turn on them quickly.
duh
Hmm... that does look sexy.
They're nothing at all alike. You're comparing apples to moon rocks in terms of functionality here.
And apart from Win8 interface problems, the OS is the best for gaming yet. All MS has to do is create a profile option for gaming, which minimizes many of the unnecessary background processes, for them to win back the hearts of gamers.
It means nothing. It is a completely pointless endeavor by Valve that we can toss on to their growing pile of wtf'ery.
Just be awesome. 3rd game I've kickstarted. F*#$ Capcom and their inability to recognize that people still want Megaman games.
It's just different gameplay. I don't have a problem with the gameplay in any QD game actually. If they had a knock out story I wouldn't hesitate to give their game a 10/10.
But these games really do hinge on the story; and QD can barely compete with Twilight fan-fiction here. It doesn't surprise me that most people find their games engrossing. Too many people thought Prometheus was an intelligent, thought provoking film while claiming that 2001 was an incoh...
Cannot arrive sooner! Frictional games make my heart go aflutter.
OK, even though I hate this game and the rest of QD's games, a 2.5 is freaking ridiculous. It has enough going on to be at least a 6/10.
Cage simply cannot write, imo. His writing is on the level of a sci-fi channel screenplay, except it has mistaken that placement for an art installation at MOMA.
Someone mentioned pulp below. No problems there, I love pulp. But pulp, "literature", screenplays of any genre, etc, can all be great. The category is meaningless to me, but the quality isn't. Hence, a story written about a civil war veteran whisked away to Mars to battle aliens using spears and ...
To some of us, lonely isn't a terrible thing. I happen to be asexual and not too friendly, obviously, and I can only say that the freedom from all of those social issues that affect the rest of you has been incredibly rewarding for me.
So don't feel sorry for me, heck, I feel sorry for you. Especially with those hash tag insults lol.
rabble rabble rabble rabble
When a QD game is praised for its story I can only wonder how many and what kind of books the reviewer has read in their lifetime.
When a QD game is bashed for its story I recognize the reviewer as the intelligent person they must be.
You're trying to argue reason to a group of individuals that find the game enjoyable.
We can't knock them for liking what they like, but people today seem to have incorporated their film/game/book/music tastes into their own character, so a negative judgement of something normally considered irrelevant to the individual is now assumed to be an outright attack of their character.
Bizarre world we're living in anymore.
There is a difference between story and storytelling, something I don't think is clarified often enough. The story itself may be interesting, but it may be told in a way that is cliched, nonsensical, and boring.
Which frankly, all sound exactly like Cage's MO.
Really? So if you never played a QD game before, you are somehow unqualified to review any of their games?
You sully the name of Max Rockatansky.
Nope. Just some sensible people out there who do not find David Cage to be the messiah he believes he is. He has no skill at storytelling and injects everything with artificial drama so he can pass off his rejected films as video games.
Ridley Scott was once asked why there are no sex scenes in his films. He responded with something like "because they're boring and pointless."
The creator of the work has a million other ways to show that two people care about each other that are more meaningful than the act of sex. A simple glance between two people can tell you worlds about their relationship. The only time sex scenes are worth including is if they're integral to the plot, in the same...
