Of course this developer is lazy, I mean come on. He consider the PS3 more difficult to develop for then the 360. /sarcasm
Same story from yet another developer AT Game Developer Conference!!!
Consider this:
1) Do you think if presenting some information might cause other to view them negatively such as being lazy, the developer would?
2) These presentations are for developers of other companies. These are knowledgeable people in the indust...
You are right, but US is the single largest gaming market with close to half of the PS3's user base. So yes, the PS3 games will not be as high on the list relative to the 360, but it sure damn well better make it on the list if it is going to sell 5 million.
By the way, the sample size is 2000, 1000 each week. I would say that is a decent size when it comes to purchase intent.
Now scurry away!!!
Seriously, I had mine for 2, wait almost 3 years now in November with no issues. Damn, that means my extended warranty was never needed.
Not because it is a poor game (the game looks great!), but titles that sell well tend to be on the top 25 purchase intent list. Uncharted 2 isn't even on the list, and even God of War 3 is only number 6 on that list after Assassins Creed2, MW2, Halo 3: ODST, Wii Fit Plus and New Super Mario Bros.
Now this (i.e. God of War 3) might have something to do with the release dates and marketing push prior to release is far from now, but Uncharted 2 is dropping very soon and before MW2 a...
The original Xbox was built like a tank because it was built out of over the counter parts.
However, I did suffer an odd problem when I accidentally covered a vent I would get Disc Read Errors only to have it go away when the vent was unblocked. Odd!
Well put!
For me though, what wins out is the controller and the blood. I really enjoy seeing the blood spatter everywhere and the blue mist in the PS3 version is frankly almost annoying.
Bottom line, the controller wins and the 360 for me is the better choice. I played the original Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox and now NG2 on the 360. I put over 250 hours on this game.
Once you get to the point where the graphics is at this level it doesn't make much difference in terms of your en...
Yeah, well it looks like Japan's market isn't very big after all for HD console gaming. Take a look at that list and the most sold game is barely notching 200k.
I'm assuming this is life to date sales since it includes Ace Commbat 6 at 115k.
I guess MS supports for nothing more important than the trickling of games coming out of that region, but even Japanese companies are now opening game studios in the West.
Although, RROD is a legitimate concern it is for the most part no longer an issue. I bought my xbox 360 (Falcon) two years ago and it is still going strong and I never had an issue.
I would rather be more concerned about Disc Read Errors that will plague ALL consoles.
Lucky for me, the 360 has an install to hard drive option that saves my disc drive. Sooner or later those DRE will catch up with people though on my Wii and PS3.
I want one, but man it is too expensive for PMP. Why aren't these things cheaper in general?
I blame Apple for dominating the market and MS for not being a better competitor. Maybe this will change.
True, but if Natal is a success watch Nintendo follow suit. That is how it always works!
The company will always down play the competitions product until it is a success, in which case "me too" happens.
@smacktard:
The original Xbox sold so well because of superior hardware and a very large and active modding community. Halo helped too.
Let's put it like this, I bought an Xbox and not a PS2. Clearly the PS2 had games, but it was the optio...
Yes, that is right. NO other FPS has matched this game, let alone surpass it.
To me these bundles aren't that great since it is just the regular console bundled with a game unless it is priced right. Why no special artwork, color or lettering on the console?
If I am dropping $350, I better damn well feel like I either get something very special (i.e. different) or it is of great value (in the bargain sense)!
Yes, for you a resident of Europe it is cheap to shop in US. Likewise, for US residents it is fairly cheap to shop in Mexico. That still doesn't make it cheaper for US residents to buy stuff in the US relative to the average income and purchasing power.
Far too frequently do people forget that US wages are lower than European and hence the price is lower to accommodate for that.
Here is why:
a) The analysis is based on some of the most successful games. The reason it is expensive is because many games fail to make a profit. You should really take into consideration of other games like new IP since these don't have a franchise to ensure it's success.
b) The numbers given in the article assumes retail price goes directly to the publisher/developer. This is simply not true, as there are other obvious costs such as manufacturing, shipping and re...
....
Basically Bruce exposed this company that created Evony and they are mad, so they are trying to sue him for libel.
Either way, I remember when Evony tried to spam Google Ads and people couldn't get rid of the ads on their site even after attempting to block it. It was a blatant attempt by Evony to subvert the system in place. The issue is all over the Google forums.
There is nothing for MS to fear about it. One game doesn't break another console.
It is ranked 9 now on sales at amazon.com. These numbers will NOT be reflected on September's NPD since it is a pre-sale not shipment, but WOW!
I mean they install the PS3, setup local user accounts with parental control and setup ONE online account. Where is the Xbox 360 offering? /sarcasm
In reality, I have no problems with this. If people are willing to pay for this assuming they have a need, then another competing service willing to do it lower will come. Capitalism baby!!!
