"I would rather have a whole loaf to choose from than just 1 piece of bread. "
I would rather have a good piece of bread than a whole loaf of rotting bread.
My point being, milking is when you churn out crappy games for profit. I'm thinking Sonic the Hedgehog! So far all Halo games released have been well respected games. I expect nothing less of Halo 3:ODST and Halo:Reach.
I completely agree. A combination Sony/MS would be a great console except, there is practically no competition!
Let me repeat from my old post the part that pertains to your post:
"Still a great number, but nowhere near the inflated 999%.
I will wait for the real numbers in October from NPD and other sources. "
See, I said other sources other than a 999% increase out of what? I never contested it wasn't a great number either at 3 times or 10 times....
Whatever doesn't stimulate your brain makes it rot!!!
I thorougly enjoyed it, but "patience is a virtue" is something you learn if you are given an allowance for work you do that you can save to buy stuff.
Stuff shouldn't be given based on the cost and if your children can convince you to buy it for them. You want something, work for it!!!
First step to financially responsible children.
... no dissecting necessary. Have Bungie ever released a Halo dud? Thought so!
....
I'm glad some people are looking into these number claims. Why? Because, the week before the price drop there were little remaining stock of PS3 and anticipated price drop. Let's say that only a third of what was normally sold, then suddenly the increase is really just a spike of 334%. Still a great number, but nowhere near the inflated 999%.
I will wait for the real numbers in October from NPD and other sources.
Besides I would not personally look down on anyone taking the cheque. You don't have to rate it more positively as there is no contract or obligation. The only obligation a reviewer would have are to your readers.
Far worse things are:
a) Not completing a game prior to review
b) Handing the game to a person that does NOT like the game genre
c) Handing the game to fanboys
... and many more
First of all, searches are not equal to sales, but even worse is the fact that this searches might mask bad news as well.
Do google filter for "ps3 lacks exclusives" as opposed to "ps3 slim outsells all rivals"?
Basically the trend doesn't indicate if people are viewing it negatively or positively....
The worse thing about this is you get 7 agrees and 2 disagrees. That is more than 70% of the people here blindly agreeing without...
After all, the petition was written with a very one sided view with little verifiable facts and many many assumptions.
Could it be conceivable that they were wrong? nah! It must be the Valve bought them off. /sarcasm
I can't see them abandoning the L4D1 customers. Until I see different, I will trust their word. In my book, I have never seen Valve screw over their customers. Arguably they are the one company that supports their games the longest!
I don't know why they were getting so much flack for L4D2 other than that their L4D1 customers have been spoiled rotten.
Fact of the matter is the Wii isn't selling on price alone, but
a) a unique featore, obviously the motion control, that no other console currently has
b) a large software library that is compatible with the motion controls
c) a large library of well known ip's that many fans remember (even Sony with the largest one after Nintendo can't match Nintendo in this area)
d) Word of mouth already established. As more and more Wiis are sold, ...
I have no issue with customer complaint or lawsuits, but the country is going down the drain because the lawyers tax is affecting us all. Did you know there are more lawyers in California then the rest of the US?
Only way to stop this is, looser pays the fees. You ain't fishing if attempting to catch a fish might cost you.
The swarm of jealous fanboys will come running and all they do is hate while blindy worshipping their other God.
Well I have bad news for you, because clearly the public sees it differently and many many more people will enjoy Halo 3:ODST with me. All the haters can sit here, complain and bicker!!!
12-15 hour campaign does not seem like just an expansion to me. I'm looking forward to it!
You know, I agree that Mac OSX is nice especially since it is built on top of BSD. However, my issue with Macs isn't just the up front price, but rather the recurring fee (basically what amounts to a maintenance fee) from their upgrades that by the way are sometimes required for other software to operate. I had that happen at work, and it quickly get's costly.
On Windows, all service packs are free and they do upgrade large portions of your OS. For instance WinXP SP2 added fire...
From what I hear, it seems like a fair value with 12-15 hours of campaign and all the maps available for Halo 3 + Firefight. Besides, the true value of a game is only measured in how much you play it.
You could get Fallout 3 or an JRPG then play it for 3-hours and get bored. Was that still good value?
That a major firmware revision basically brought nothing major to the table and instead just caused further technical issues.
The only thing worth mentioning is the animated themes that don't have a free theme (as far as I know) for me to even try out. Nothing in this update warrants a major revision number change.
Natal supposedly can track up to 4 people and does not get interfernce from people around you. It also can guestimate where your body parts are if it is accidentally covered up, like by another person walking by.
I'd say, that sounds pretty cool if it works!
