"This new revolutionary tech is called the Gigapan."
I'm always skeptical about technology that somebody claims to be revolutionary. After looking at part of the video (since it for some reason got cut out off), it wasn't exactly revolutionary in any way.
The technology works just like how we use a webpage today. Each webpage is just a high resolution picture with some fancy zooming in effects. I fail to see how that is revolutionary in any way or how ...
@MURKERR
I'm not going to discuss your other issues with MS. That is for another discussio, but I'm telling you no company will support a loosing business proposition. If the PS2 isn't profitable, they will cut it. Your comment suggest you think otherwise as if Sony would support it regardless:
"sony support THEIR products and dont just drop support once a newer model comes out..."
History with the BC has already told you otherwise! From a consum...
Sony is NOT supporting the PS2 out of the goodness of their heart. They are supporting it because it is a profitable business! If it were NOT a profitable business they will lie to you and drop it just like they did with the BC.
Remember when Sony said BC was very important, only to drop it shortly after to cut cost and hopefully reach profitability? Point being, no company is there for your charity. It is there to make a profit and if there is none, it will promptly disappear...
that it no longer matters what CPU you have. That level is usually fairly low relative to the newest CPUs out. The graphics card usually makes the biggest difference and any gamer can attest to that.
it really puts in perspective with numbers what Sony has to do to meet their own expectation. I'm not talking about the immediate expectation, but the long term they already set themselves up for.
No doubt the PS3 slim has sold well, since I personally witnessed many stores sold out of PS3 slims or have very few left while I saw a bunch of 360s on the shelf.
It still doesn't mean that the console can keep the momentum. Demand might have been inflated due to ma...
If it is such an issue for you, but I can only imagine how hard it would be for you to get to eat, use the restrom or god forbid do hygenic tasks like showering!
We have to be so god dang politically correct every time we say anything because somebody somewhere took offense that we can't do anything.
How about, we say screw you so we can actually get stuff done!
However, unless you clearly state the game is detected to be illegal the user my think like in this case that there is a bug or the game experience is poor without ever finding out.
I guess these people already stole the game so the likelyhoood of them buying was small to begin with anyhow.

Some of you people (and I'm referring to the whole comment section) need some serious help with your anger issues on the console war. I think I'm going to play some games now, but the thread above this is just epic!!!
WOW!
Good for Sony! I enjoyed the article as it was well written despite the fact that it is sad to hear a console get utterly so destroyed despite the efforts!
We all know how much junk there is on the iPhone app store and this is Sony's way of controlling it. I'm not sure if making it free will change anything other than making the PSN app store riddled with mess. Charging a small fee might deter the casual junk stuff that get's created.
Personally, I think that is a creepy ad. Why? Because it isn't natural and it is definitely not how I look when heavily engaged. Joystiq themselves says (from your link):
"If this is what we really, truly look like when playing PS3, we're unplugging our PS Eyes immediately and checking for hidden closed-circuit surveillance. Who knows -- we could be next; clicking, shaking and generally acting creepy in a Sony ad without even knowing it."

Yes buttons are faster if you remember what button does what, but motion controls are much more intuitive (and exciting right now) to the majority of people.
See why do you keep spinning it as if the 360 has a lack of power. The games out there prove otherwise. Clearly, the extra procesing power in the camera is to avoid taking any resources away from the games. That is a wise decision, not a weakness of the system!!!
Even the almighty PS3 does not have enough processing power not to mention the PC to do everything the developers want. Does that mean it is lacking power? The only one I see lacking power is the Wii since it so far be...

the microprocessor inside the camera isn't there because there is lack of power. It is there to add power i.e. to prevent the motion camera from affecting the performance of current games (intentional or not) and to prevent as much lag as possible. So far the system seems very well thought out top to bottom.
Looking forward to a Natal boxing or fighting game!
Clearly you like to play the blame game and blame everyone else for how things went. Sure MS AND SE is greedy just like Sony.
It is as much of faiilure for Sony to not secure Final Fantasy as an exclusive as much as it is MS for obviously wanting a slice of that business. Any moron can see that unless you are among the few fanbois that believes the developer/publisher owes them any sort of loyalty to anything, but the dollar.
There is nothing sort sighted about t...
The official word is that MS bought this company 3DV systems due to a host of patents held by the company. Probably will prevent other companies from using the same technology. There were an article about this just days ago.
Natal technology apparently is from three different companies, but who cares? Do I care who invented the fuel injected motor? I appreciate whoever did that, but for the most part I only care if somebody recognized it's usefulness and applied it to something...
When I downloaded fw 3.0 there were none available.
