"JOY, given MS's 'monkey see, monkey do' approach to this entire console generation, I find your comment laughable. Then again, I find most of your comments laughable, so I guess that isn't particularly special. " -evoanubis
You mean like how Sony jumped on the bandwagon after MS introduced
- Achievements
- Netflix to consoles
- online play to consoles (yes, MS made it mainstream. Dreamcast might have introduced it and PS2 might have had i...
No, because US is the single largest country and has about 50% of the worldwide console market. That means if you dominate everywhere else, but the US you are still leaving half of the potential customers in the world!
We are not the world, just the largest!!! It's NOT our fault that others have complexity issues.
I like Mac OSX, mainly because it is based on BSD. I must say that the Mac experience is pretty darn good. However, I hate the maintenance fee they have. The fee I'm referring to is what Apple calls an upgrade and I call an update!
I was once forced to upgrade my Mac OSX so that I could run Adobe Creative Suite. Imagine, coming home to install Adobe CS only to find you HAVE to pay for Service Pack 1 for Vista!? You are essentially being held hostage....
It looks like the monitor isn't responding at all from the very beginning. Maybe they forgot to plug in a cable....
That is funny, both XP and Vista has been working for me all these years. Must be user error!
sigh...
You read what you want, even when it isn't there. I said "because I would rather not have to pay for Live subscription and the more the PS3/Wii can fill in this gap the more likely I'm to save about $30-40/annually,". I didn't specify what that gap was, but did I say that Netflix is the only reason?
Stopping putting words in my mouth and scurry away please!
"Netfix only offers 300 movies for streaming, most of which aren't even that good." -slayorofgods
That is false! There are far more than 300 movies and as netflix themselves point out, 17,000 choices. Now if the majority of it is good or not is another question, but I do find good TV shows and occasionally some good movies.
I'm not sure what I said, to indicate to you that "acting as if you don't WANT Netflix to offer its services to the PS3". I suggest you clear your mind of any pre-conceived notion and re-read my comments above.
Frankly, I would prefer Netflix was offered on the PS3 (or Wii) did because I would rather not have to pay for Live subscription and the more the PS3/Wii can fill in this gap the more likely I'm to save about $30-40/annually, but until then Live is still getting ...
Well Blu-Ray doesn't give me 10,000 movies and tv-show streaming to me at any time of the day. Heck, one (or two) BR movies will set me back more than the subscription cost to Netflix and I can still get the movie in the mail.
I will take Netflix, thank you!
I like that headsets are standard. Why?
Because I can mute people and even limit to only friends to chat, but if my friend(s) doesn't have a headset we are suddenly unable to communicate. The mute button is just a few button presses away!!!
I don't think it is Netflix giving anyone the shaft, but the movie studios. Each movie is differently licensed for each country, sometimes multiple countries are licensed by one company, but not always.
This practically means that US is the single largest population that you can license for that likely makes financial sense (read, NOT China, Australia which is a continent and Russia).
Ask the rights holders, not Netflix!
@godmars 290:
Sorry...
I do NOT know what you saw as you didn't put out any actual proof I can see, but frankly speaking I played through both and can tell you that there are far more limbs and especially blood on the ground after each fight.
Yeah, the Sigma engine was completely new and re-worked to match the next generation. The Xbox 360 version is built on top of the aging original Ninja Gaiden engine.
I thinnk any NG fan as stated in this great article points out, get both versions! Playing through it I noticed that there were content outright cut out of the PS3 version. There are also changes to the game mechanic and bosses causing the game to be played slightly different. The blood in the 360 version also gives...
Looks like all the hoopla of a petition is for naught. Valve seemed to have kept their promise and supporting it fully even though a new release is coming. This is unheard of. Way to go Valve!!!
Trash site, but I should have known. It is a blog without even it's own domain.
Remember when the PS2 whas the shiz and Xbox was the sh!t?
Well, look where we are now! Xbox 360 just elevated itself to PS3 level this generation and PS3, well declined to be third fighting for second. There is no arguing there. MS just posted a profitable quarter and they likely will again this Christmas. That is a fact!
All of Sony's guns are out, there will be no more price cut for the forseeable future. Sales aren't exactly exploding there and frankly they are n...
With the continued domination of the PS3 in all areas, the sales don't seem to reflect that in either software or hardware....
I can find plenty of games, new features to be released in upcoming firmware update and friends to play games with on my 360.
This article is just propaganda from darkride66, rest assured that it has no effect on the end results and only Sony/MS (or Nintendo for that matter) can significantly influence the end results.
"Xbo...
I do agree that this sucks, and there should be a officially licensed program for this sort of thing. I guess MS just want to hord the profits for themselves and see no reason to support a third party.
On the other hand, I do remember when my el-cheapo MadCatz memory card bit the dust and corrupted my save games on the GameCube. Since then, I have been only buying officially licensed stuff. My save games are worth way more than the few bucks I save!
You bring up some valid points, but I pay for Live regardless so that is not an issue. However, for the price of one Blu-Ray + change (due to Live subscription) you can rent many movies and get the streaming service.
Unless you have to own the movie on blu-ray, it is a no brainer. Netflix is a better deal!
I find that I own gazillion DVD's now and I never watch them.... Should have saved my money!
Agreed, let's wait until both is out, but for now the PS3 is a more silent machine and doesn't require a subscription (although I have Live Gold for other reasons), thats a plus. While it's minus, requires a disc, WTF!
