I think edgeofblade meant that a locked high frame rate at 60fps ensure smooth viewing experience i.e. affecting what you see on the screen, just not in the "photorealism" sense, but in the animation sense. In my opinion both are visual though.
I agree with edge of blade on the preference on higher frame rate as opposed to higher resolution. After all, I like to have my games be responsive and I know of quite a few games that in my book fail because they are just chugg...
Besides, if Sony is selling their console at a loss (and it was possible to pirate PS3 games)then this isn't the kind of customers Sony want.
Basically, pirates aren't contributors, but more like parasites!
No company is immune to copying somebody elses idea. In fact, I would argue it would be stupid not to copy a great idea and hopefully improve on it.
However, the fact of the matter is that when I think of great things this gaming generation, I can't think of a single thing Sony has done.
If I think of great ideas executed well brought to this console generation then:
a) Nintendo has motion control
b) Microsoft has Xbox Live and hopefully Natal
Why single out MS?
I mean after all the PS3 whom is more expensive than the Wii is basically copying the Wii Motion Plus, but now requires a camera in addition to the wand.
If anything, Natal at least brings something different to the table rather than the "me too" approach of Sony this entire console generation.
I think Natal has a fighting chance based on the media reception so far.
I guess then, if Mac OSX is too expensive and Linux/Unix is for geek (read complicated to use) then Windows must be a great bang for the buck? It seems like the majority have already decided.

Chrome OS is interesting, because I tend to enjoy everything Google makes. Gmail awesome! Chrome browser, awesome! However, privacy not so much!
That is why I tend to shy away from Google products, as they don't respect the use...
Way to waste your own and others time!!!
There are a lot of misconception:
a) fixing a RROD is not detectable, because you aren't modifying the software
b) modifying the exterior of the Xbox is not detectable
b) replacing a DVD drive is not possible unless you start flashing firmwares. This is against the TOS.
c) MS don't need to know if you actually are pirating games. All they need is to know if you modified your console software wise such as playing patched game discs or install...
Activision would never let go of CoD IP, but any game studio knows that the studio is only as good as its people. If you don't like them, you can coerce your co-workers and start your own company.
The original members of IW, was part of 2015, Inc which created Medal of Honor.
When you are buying a game studio, unless you can make the employees happy they can leave anytime. So essentially the only thing you can count on is the IP.
No, it's more like you bought a cable box, then proceeded to steal premium TV channels from the company. The company then cut you off, but was nice enough to let you move your pre-paid subscription to your basic tv channels to another cable box.
Because you bought something physical doesn't mean you can use it to steal from others!
By the way, the modded consoles you shown of people making artistic boxes on google. Did anyone of them get their Xbox banned for changi...
Re-use the asset for the future.
However, I'm still sad after Blizzard cancelled StarCraft:Ghost!
If it is a good game and there is demand, then that isn't really milking it. It is catering to consumers!
Any wise business would do that, so I don't understand why people keep saying Halo is milked, now they are saying R&C is milked. I wonder when we are seeing Resistance 3, are they also calling that milked?
If it sells, and people enjoy it, it is NOT milking in my book!
Was that ever fixed?
First we get a list of people that claim to boycott the game, then ends up playing it. Now MW2 has done better than the first one in the same time frame. It isn't like the PC community just got a larger install base like consoles.
Hypocrites! I on the other hand, never boycotted and bought it first day!
I admittedly have not used the PS3 browser recently, but when I did about 6-9 months ago it was still sh!t. It only works minimally on the strength of having a browser on the TV. It crashes on both YouTube (even though it has it's own interface) and Hulu.
The sites it does work on is more of a chore to use on the PS3 controller, might as well just use a laptop or something.
Even if they improved it, it follows their same model. Release a half ass product, then fix it...
Seeing traces of code that is disabled is NOT uncommon. Besides, MW2 is a very complete package so you have the choice to buy it or ignore it. So why complain?
I don't know why, but this generation has been all about ranting about how all these companies are exploiting us. Yet, this is exactly how it has been for ages. The difference, previously it was a buyers market and now it is a sellers market!
Companies first and foremost responsibility is to their shareholders...
"Because as hard as it is to accept, some people with modded consoles aren't pirates? " - godmars
NO, just the MAJORITY of them! More like 99.999999%!
I have no sympathy for thiefs (pirates), because they are a parasite in the gaming industry that raises cost for legitimate customers.
The fact that they can still use their Live Gold membership and their console is already too nice!!!
IBM invested a cr@p load of money into this technology, train people into this archaic architecture and now realizes that the market is going towards GPU's instead.
To Sony the answer of success might be different, but it appears IBM isn't selling too many Cell driven technology. It's a failure to IBM and IBM is doing the right thing for it's shareholders.
If you look at some of the outfits, they look very feminine. Especially the stance.
At least it freaken works, unlike the PS3 who crashes on practically any site you use it on. It is so cumbersome to use, I would just rather turn on my PC or use the Wii's browser. At least the Wii's browser works pretty well.
PS3's browser is hardly useful for anything, but very basic sites and even then it is a chore.
"And where does that leave several accounts connected to that one console? " - godmars
Isn't it obvious! It leaves your account (still playable on Xbox Live) for you to recover onto another unmodded console (or a modded one if you didn't learn your lesson).
Personally, I think that is generous. Ban those leeches!
