I like to point out this 2-year old article:
http://www.ddj.com/architec...
It in details explains how the programmer wrings out 22x performance on Breadth First Searches compared to a single core Pentium IV and is comparable to a BlueGene/L Supercomputer.
The problem? It took them 20x as much lines to write the code comparable to x86 i.e. the code on Pentium IV took 60 lines and the PS3 t...
"So something like differentials in power consumption for the added fans isn't going to send up a red flag? "
That is just ridiculous! You are trying really hard aren't you to find reasons to hate MS/Xbox 360.
The fact that the power varies depending on what software you are using in the system means that it is impossible to predict let alone be sure if it is modded. Heck, what if I just happen to hook up a crap load of stuff to my USB port with a USB Hub....
I mean, many western games are starting to sell at a decent clip like CoD, GeoW, Halo and now L4D.
Maybe there is a work around, but in the meanwhile there is always the PC, PS3 or Wii if you want this!
IW just put a lot of time and effort into CoD:MW2 and therefore did not have time. Heck, it could also be because they didn't want to release a crappy map without ensuring multiplayer experience isn't compromised.
It's funny how people complain a DLC is out to soon, but when it takes a while it is too long.
I'm not saying Uncharted 2 map is crappy, as I haven't played it, but I do know the online community as a whole is considerably smaller. When you are as large as ...
This is exactly what is happening with Bruce and I'm supporting you Bruce!
I remember when Evony was spamming Google Ads (are they still?) and people were complaining they couldn't block it. Go ahead, do a search on Google and you will find them still there.
Before spouting, I recommend doing what that video says. Confirm it yourself. If you do find inconsistencies, report back. Based on the fact that they were spamming Google, I would say this company is scrupulous...
I'm excited!!!
But it is all preference, and frankly the d-pad on the 360 completely sux! However, one time I was testing out SF IV at GameCrazy and for some reason their d-pad was really loose and really good.
Suprisingly as good as the DualShock 3 if not better, but all my 360 controllers (4-5 of them) d-pad's sux!!!
It amazes me that MS hasn't fixed this issue and it is one of the reason why fighting games sell better on the PS3 despite the smaller user base.
Sure, MS didn't get any money for it, but as Bill Gates once said along the lines of: if you were to pirate software, we would rather the pirates pirate our software.
One of the ways MS managed to get to the dominant position!
Basically you are contributing to a healthy environment for PC games on Windows. If more people would start to use Linux or Macs, we might see more games on those platforms.
My oldest 360 is one of the earliest Falcons and is used the most since it is in the living room. Never had a single issue with any of them. Initially, I went as far as buying a 3-year warranty at Target, but never got to use it so far.
However, my cousin had a launch that went south. He had it fixed and sold it. His second Xbox 360, a non-falcon also went bad. His DVD-drive went out and was replaced. It has working fine since, but just got banned!
So from personal ...
"How exactly would I support MS by playing games on PC? I already have the Windows OS and MS doesn't get any royalties for PC games." -nevimkdojsem2
You are supporting the platform by helping strengthening the lead for PC as the computer platforms for games as opposed to Linux or Mac. You are also telling publishers that Windows is a worthwhile platform to continue investing into the PC games.
In both cases MS benefits! I don't know why that would matter, ...
I mean, after all the numbers revealed indicates there for every legitimate buyer there are several more thiefs (pirates).
This is clearly a case were piracy as hurt the PC gaming industry. Congrats thiefs!!!
I hear ya!
The two component making noise is the DVD drive (which you can alleviate by installing a game) and the fans. The newer Xbox 360 aren't that much quieter, unless you can find one with the quiet fans. DVD drive, well, you are sh!t out of luck!
I haven't seen or heard of any recent 360s with the quieter fans. All mine are the noisy DC brushless fans.
And yes, I agree.... having both (or in my case all three) platforms rocks! Now, just wish I had...
... but I do wish Wifi was just built in. However, I do like choices though....
No, it was more of an issue that in "2006" (more 2007) that there were no freaken games all we heard was, but there was blu-ray on PS3.
Right now, the 360 has the games and it happens to have other social networking stuff. I don't use twitter or facebook, but don't mind it is there and tried. I love last.fm though and have been enjoying netflix for some time now!
MS is clearly broadening the appeal, yet 360 owners are still getting great exclusive games (n...

As far as I know, you can de-activate and re-activate onto another console. Allowing this on 5 consoles was very generous, and with 3 it is still super generous!
The only thing though, I heard is that the only way you can de-activate is through the console itself. So if, it is defective and you get an exchanged refurb, you might be sh!t out of luck! There have been numerous reports of this, so keep at least 1 extra activation for yourself if you care.
Although uncalled for, pretty funny!
@pixelsword
I wish there were someone like you every time the 360 articles get invaded by fanboys and by "every time" I mean every article.
Go ahead, take a look for yourself. I'm not saying it is right....
