This is a minor issue similar to when the Zune had a similar issue. I guess the difference is you get all these output that just sounds scary.

Whoever screwed up the code can't feel too good right now especially as some reported above, it is being picked up by local media outlets.

I was responding to the original poster above. You on the other hand seems to be thread cr@pping after missing the point of my post that is Halo: Reach related.

I think it is more of an issue that people are clueless and figured they would rather just take trade-in a potential broken machine not knowing that is just a firmware issue. Perhaps, others don't want to take the chance. After all, the slim is supposed to be even quieter than the phat ones with even a larger hard drive.

So it is reasonable for people to just upgrade their PS3s.

What were you looking for that should be new?

I mean, in almost every sequel the game is identical with minor tweaks and IW has made plenty of tweaks to try and improve the multi-player part.

It is not a reboot of the series so don't expect one....

"He asserts that Natal was once proclaimed failed hardware by Nintendo. You can prove that to be true or false? "

What reason Nintendo didn't pursue it is unknown. Instead it is made into believe that something is wrong with the technology, instead it has been reported that it was a cost issue during a time when Nintendo was about to release their new console.

Besides, when Verizion turned down the iPhone guess who is laughing all the way to the bank now? A...

This article doesn't even discuss the opposite side i.e. the positive side. All the article does is construct a negative criticism based on a bunch of assumptions on assumptions.

Sounds like fanboy drivel to me.

Natal alone is enough excitement for me, not to mention SC:Conviction, Alan Wake and Halo:Reach this year. I already got Mass Effect 2!!!

In regards to this article, MS has proven time and time again that even in their leanest years they have no problem keeping up with the competition. If you really look back at the competition, there was a lot of talk and the number of games never match up. Instead the just magically appear on the list next year again.

Besides, new...

I personally was disappointed with KZ2. I didn't notice the controller lag that many was talking about and was wowed by the graphics, but THAT WAS IT!

As a game, it was lackluster and I would take MW2 over it anytime despite the graphical differences. Game play over graphics every time!!!

Halo for me has traditionally not been about the campaign, but about the multiplayer. Looking forward to the beta!

The major Final Fantasy games have been released on the Playstation platform and the recent bad publicity on the 360 version certainly didn't help.

With that said, I expect the PS3 version to outsell the 360 version in the US. I would be extremely surprised otherwise.

Sony is catching no break and I'm sure the media will attack them the same way they did when MS was hit with too many users on Xbox Live that took the service down.

Network issues happen and so does security breaches, but together the internet explodes.

edit: so I just logged into the US PlayStation website with the same password/email as ever. So I'm not affected by the security breach. Not sure about the firmware issue, since I'm not there to test it myself. I'm 20...

"Purchased PSN titles are not working as well, and some are reporting of copyright issues. Demos however, are working fine."

... and I though Ubisofts/EAs new DRM that required you to be online all the time was bad. Heck it has existed in my backyard the whole time!

Can anyone confirm this? It just doesn't seem right.

edit: I'm talking about single player/campaign, not multiplayer.

There is no doubt Natal is geared towards casual gamers. Any benefit hard core gamers will get are likely to be minimal at least up front. The reason is simple, the Wii effectively killed all hard core gaming with motion control.

The majority of hard core gamers view motion control as the enemy as a result of the Wii. Even great hardcore (and even violent) games on the Wii have very poor sales.

The good news is Natal is relatively unexplored area of gaming, so there ...

I was looking through a version of Linux for my a server. Since it is going to be a production server (and actually few developer servers), I was looking for something with long term support.

I decided Ubuntu is one of the distributions easier to use especially for noob employees. Guess what? Their support is 5 years, what Ubuntu consider long term and only for their server releases.

On the flip side, if you bought Windows 2000 it has been supported for 10 years! Ask...

MS actually has much more consumer friendly privacy guidelines. They are fairly clear about what and how they use the data. Besides their data mining and search skills aren't as good as Google.

So basically you got a company that has the worst privacy guidelines that leaves a lot to be desired and is good at search. They probably know your every move! Even if you went through a proxy, they could probably still deduce who you are!

Yahoo at least deletes your search qu...

I mean, did you see how well Natal was able to track the body. The dude was break dancing and Natal picked it all up!!!

The issue of lag is extremely simple. You can further optimize the software and now that Natal is going to use the 360 for processing, it can throw even more processing power up. Even then:

a) the darn thing isn't released yet

b) whatever they are showing, it isn't the final product yet

c) we are at least half a year away ...
