It looks good to me!
However, 1080p means sh!t to me. Frankly, 1080p these days means only the vertical resolution. You can have a strip of 1 pixel wide with 1080 pixels down and that is 1080p!!!
You should really look at the total resolution, but even then it doesn't guarantee any game will look good. It is just a specification that unwitting people will believe and the marketing department will throw at you.
I have never in my life seen a game and sai...
As much as Gears of War is worth a lot, I think the Unreal Engine business is worth considerably more. It is literally powering the majority of games out there and people are now familiar with it. It is getting a footing in the gaming industry and the relationships Epic has with other studios is a huge bonus.
IPs are rarely worth buying, because you can always create new ones. The exception is of course when the IP has been around such a long time that it has a fanatic following....
Saying that Natal is the same as PSeye/Eyetoy is the same as saying VHS is the same as Blu-ray. Any moron can clearly see the difference/gap between the two.
The fact that Natal is a 3D camera (that can perceive depth) with motion capturing differentiates it so far from anything that has been released. The things you can do with Natal can sometimes be simulated in software by a regular camera, but it is just that a simulated.
I think the more accurate statement is PS...
"This latest news comes weeks after it was announced that users will have to be connected to the internet all times while playing the final game in the Tiberian series."
So, C&C4 is also doing this draconian DRM where you have to be constantly online?
Count me out of even considering buying this game! These companies are stepping all over us. It's getting to the point where it is such a hassle to even play the darn thing.
SE don't try anything new, fans say the new games are stale with no innovatin.
hmmm....
Networking is extremely complex and difficult to both develop and test. You can simulate situations, but bad netcode will destroy a online experience.
Same old story re-baked into another article to feed the fanboys.
I didn't mean to say that one game would kill the PC market. It is more of the general receding support for PC games coming out.
If MS doesn't support their own market, who will?
Within 2 console generations (read 10 years), we will completely shift to digital downloads only!
Yup, retailers will sell you redeem codes and place holder package for your shelf. You say, what about people with internet? The majority of the gaming population will have broadband access.
Ironically now, the people without internet access now and need disc based games likely aren't pirates.
However, for developers (and publishers) it is clear that consoles are considerably more profitable and has less piracy issues.
It makes perfect sense for a small company, with only 50 employees to focus on one version of the game. I thought most respected game studios creating games for a console usually have around 100 employees or more?
Natal will have it's issues, but is likely to be cheaper, doesn't require you to give up your current controller and is a fairly new experience for most people. If anything, it is a new gimmick that people might buy (isn't that alone a selling point? lol).
On the other hand, Sony's wand is practically a copy of Wii Motion plus. Sure it uses a camera, but reality is that functionality wise it is identical with the Wii with an added benefit of "sub-millimeter" precision. ...
I thoroughly enjoyed the article!
If you have a choice, then yes, pick the PS3 version unless there is a platform preference. If you don't own a PS3, then the 360 version won't leave you desiring you had the PS3 version and most likely you won't notice a difference.
Anyone claiming otherwise is just a fanboy with an agenda.
What is more suprising is there aren't as much outrage about this?
I mean, this is the most draconian DRM I have ever heard of, and it is not receiving nearly as much attention as when EA released Spore.
In fact, I use free internet service where I am right now and it periodically dips down to 40k/s. Yup, count me out of playing this game.
I cannot conceive how a company can come up with such a scheme. Nobody in their right mind will knowingly buy such a...
This generation has been among the best because of the fierce fighting of two large companies, MS and Sony. To this end, we have enjoyed enormous growth in console features and genre breaking games.
Instead all we hear about is the shortcomings and the only reason is there are differences. There is no reason why games can't be split into multiple discs. Very few games if any require all the content to be on one disc.
If it weren't for MS, we would all be playing sing...
This is great and really is utopia of work conditions. Reality is that most places wouldn't survive doing this.
I wonder what Naughty Dog does when they need to hire more people. In many cases you only need a few bad employees to ruin it for the majority so I'm really interested in hearing how they deal with that.
That would suck if Sony removed Linux support. Although it is a rumor, it seems Sony is crippling the PS3 as we move along in this console cycle. In fact, Sony is the only one that is removing features from their consoles this generation.
I can understand them, but even if I disconnected from PSN I would still have to update it when a game comes a long that requires a newer update.
The flip side, I have never used that feature....
Maybe it is a ploy from Sony to discredit the 360 versoin!!! OMG!
Could it be... nah, only MS would do something like that to Sony not the opposite!
That is going to go well with consumers!!!
Classic situation of "damned if you do and damned if you don't".
Let me explain, if Sony does not include a nunchuk it will severely limit the Arc. On the other hand, including it further raises the cost. Now for two players we got a camera, two nunchucks and two wands. That's what, $150? Half the cost of a PS3 or almost a Wii....
PS3 exclusives are looking kind of weak this year....
Is it a co-incidence that 360's weakest year is the same as the PS3 accounting for how long they both have been on the market?
