Nintendo's approach is interesting by introducing new hardware only when new experiences are available, but it begs the question:
What the heck happened to the Nintendo DSi XL and the freaken DSi?
What new experiences are there? I call BS!
Nintendo will kick start the next generation of console cycle!
Although, I think they will be fine with the Wii. They just need another killer software for the casuals like Wii Fit.
So the answer is yes, it cost more than half the cost of the Wii to just enable a current PS3 to have a similar experience as the Wii (with better graphics of course).
I don't know what Sony is thinking, but I sure hope less than $100 means closer to $50! Already as it is, it will likely cost me as much as a Wii to enable two players with the Move. That is not including the PS3 for many others!!!
On the other hand, I really haven't seen much hype other than genuine excitement on his part and that he talks a lot about possibilities. Isn't it a good thing that a developer is ambitious?
Only issue are:
a) the high cost of the system and frequent upgrade cycle (my Xbox is still running strong with no hassle of upgrades after 3-years!)
b) the inefficient use of hardware by the developers. PC development doesn't push the hardware the same way consoles does due to having too many possible configurations
c) the need to tweak drivers and deal with incompatibilities
d) the piracy rate that hurts sales
e) the inability of developers to assume tha...
Game development cost is staggering!
I don't care about the title of Game of the Year, as it is relative to the number of quality games that year.
With that said, I pre-ordered the Limited Edition of this game! Can't wait!
ME2 earlier this year, now SC:Conviction then Alan Wake, Halo: Reach and finally Natal. It is a stellar year!
I haven't even started on playing any of the great games on the PS3 yet. Uncharted 1 & 2, GoW 1&2 Collection and then of course GoW 3.
Improving on a competitors product is good, but the key here is that it has to be better in some way and cost reasonably.
With that in mind, I'm surprised more people aren't outraged that the cost of adding wii like features to the PS3 will cost at least half of what the PS3 cost!
Less than a hundred $100 for the Move + Camera then anothor cost for the sub-controller (nunchuck) yields at least a $100! Wanna play two players? More $$$....
Want to know wha...
I never heard anyone say, I wish the Wii was HD nor have I ever heard I wish the PS3 had motion controls. In fact, I have heard the sixaxxis sucks!
So tell me what void is Sony trying to target. At $300 for the PS3 + $70-99 for the motion control, it is at twice the price of the Wii and it lacks a nunchuck!
They seriously need to come down on the price even if the product has way more features than the Wii. You want to compete with the Wii, compete where it matters! ...
Just the dildo + the camera is set to retail below a $100 i.e. at least $70-99. Add the nunchuk and you are at least a $100. Looks expensive!
You can get a Wii for $200 and you don't need a PS3 for $300! So essentially, this is a motion control for HD core gamers.
There will always be lag in motion control because clearly you have to complete the motion in order for the system to record it. Add the processing and well, there is your lag.
You can of course extrapolate (i.e. predict) the movement, it might not be as accurate....
Still, I'm excited about this. It looks like a fairly well controlled game, but imagine it with Natal. Now your whole body movement is recorded. You can include kicks, headbutts, elbow and etc. Even the ...
SE did it out of the goodness of their heart with no intention of profiting. It was for the good will of their fans!
That is why FF XIII is free on any platform and you can simply go into the store and grab one at any time and walk out!
Employees don't need wages, they do it because they love their job and would never dream of asking for wages. People don't need money to live and therefore everything should just be made for FREE!!!
Other than the size discrepancy between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, I think HD-DVD was much more consumer friendly format. Instead of getting a choice, Sony muzzled in with their checkbooks and Toshiba lost the war.
Either way, it doesn't matter anymore.
Now tell me of anyone that spends $150 and expects $300 features?
So what is your point?
I think Natal will not disappoint me, just for the fact that I get to control my 36o without a remote/controller. I can also see a bunch of casual games that could be fun to play with the family.
Do I mind that I have to flail around? No, neither do I care how I look doing it or if I get tired quickly. It just means, my video games now are helping me get in better shape!
I'm not going to pin my hopes on hardcore games even though undoubtedly there will be some suppor...
For pirates, the vast majority of them have high speed internet.
The people that are practically forced to buy games without an alternative is the people that don't have internet access! Ooppps!!!
This is awesome! I hope Ubisoft will change their mind after this debacle.
I'm truly sorry for people that bought this essentially "malware" infested game!
This is good, people are seriously angry at the ubisoft forums!!!

People complain about Activision, but I really see Ubisoft as a much more evil compa...
It's good Sony listen to their customers and copied the Wii. Why re-invent something that already works really well.
Now let's see some innovative games for the Arc!!!
That is what I was thinking, Apple pretty much have a foothold on the market with the iPhone very much like they did with the iPod. In fact many iPod users switched over to the iPhone as a replacement. A converging device that is better than either separately!
However, if you are a gamer you will want the Windows Phone 7. Why? Because developers have 40 million Xbox 360 users to cater to right out of the gate excluding the phone user base itself not to mention the PC market which...
I think all consoles including the Wii has positives and negatives. There is no wrong unless you picked the wrong console for your needs!
With that said, this article is so naively and funny written that I can't take it serious!
I completely agree with this article, for whom are Sony targeting? I really fail to see how Sony is differentiating itself from the Wii other than the price.
To the consumer, PS Move is identical in functionality to the Wii and we all know graphics didn't sell the Wii so what is the PS Move's selling point?
Is the target audience willing to pay Sony's prices for this? It seems like a misguided effort on a premium priced accessory. For any hope, they need the killer ...
