I just don't want to d!ck around with incompatibilities, drivers, installations and the frequent "feeling" of the need to upgrade my PC. Now publishers are even making it a difficult for you to game on the PC with nasty DRM that encourages piracy.

To me it sounds almost like the real gamers are console owners....

I'm glad you enjoy poor game play mechanics as long as it has great graphics. Perhaps you would enjoy a game where the whole purpose is to look at pretty pictures by pressing a button....

Perhaps you should stop playing games and watch more movies. The "graphics" there are great and beat any game on the market.

You are sacrificing graphics for better controls. Good controls is a requirement for a good let alone a great game. Graphics is NOT!

I agree.

What if they found an exploit in PS Home. Are they going to remove that?

Imagine if MS started removing features from Windows as soon as people found exploits! You would be sitting on a brick instead of a PC right around now and a pending lawsuit coming MS way.

If you sell a product that is popular expect it to be scrutinized, but don't hurt your customers. Sony are doing just that, by doing this!

I find that my MGS4 Limited Edition...

If Natal is sub $100, I'm strongly considering it due to the unique experience, all publisher/developer support is a bonus and the ability just to navigate the 360 dash without a controller/remote.

PS Move will have to prove itself, because I already have a Wii with Motion Plus. As it is, I only use it for family type games which by the way is a lot of fun in a group setting.

"The PlayStation 3 is the only product I know that loses features throughout it’s life cycle. Software PS2 emulation, SACD playback, and OtherOS support are all just software switches you can flip. It’s unbelievable you would go and flip one, not just on new boxes you are shipping, but on tens of millions already in the field."

I agree with that! PS3 is the only console I know of that looses features throughout it's life cycle. What a shame when you keep promoting futur...

I agree with you. HS was a slightly above mediocre game in terms of game play at best. It made up for it in production value, but man the game play was choppy as hell. I will take game play over graphics any day!!! In my personal opinion the game was highly overrated and the likes of God of War and Ninja Gaiden far exceed it.

With that said, 1.5 millions and they didn't make money? So the question then is, did Sony take a lot of their profits (i.e. Ninja Theory negotiated a poor ...

Gameplay trumps graphics any time, so yes! I want them to take away from graphics to give the controllers better accuracy because I care about game play, not digital art.

With poor controls, it doesn't matter how great the game is every other aspect is so I would say that makes a lot of sense.

Just my opinion as a real gamer....

Not only are you removing features in newer iteration of your hardware, now you are removing features on older released models!

That must be like the video game industry's first!!!

"One item making the interwebs rounds this week was the scandalous revelation that Halo 3 runs at “640p” which isn’t even technically a resolution. However, the interweb detectives did notice that Halo 3’s vertical resolution, when captured from a frame buffer, is indeed 640 pixels. So what gives? Did we short change you 80 pixels?

Naturally it’s more complicated than that. In fact, you could argue we gave you 1280 pixels of vertical resolution, since Halo 3 uses not one, b...

"also because they took out the chip in natal latency is going to be a problem."

Actually, that couldn't be further from the truth and is a huge misconception that taking out the chip is a bad thing.

Using a chip, your computation power is pretty much limited to whatever the chip can put out.

By using the 360's they can throw a lot more horsepower at the problem by taxing the CPU/GPU on the 360 to reduce the lag in instances where it is needed ...

I don't know how these things work here in the U.S., but when I lived in Norway and worked at a video rental store I found out that the movies that were rented out cost anywhere from 4-6 times as much as it did in store. This of course meant license holders were compensated for the rental up front!

In response to piracy is not so different from rental. Well the first is ILLEGAL and the latter is legal!!!

Pirates are nothing, but leeches in the system while rental com...

"It's hardly a software implementation issue. It's apparent you don't understand what you linked so let me break it down for you:"

By the fact that you say it is not a software issue shows that you don't understand d!ck unless you thought I spoke about something else. I was talking about the quality of dynamically adjusting the video quality.

It is only overhyped if you weren't interested in the first place or just a PS3 fanboy.

This looks like to be a pretty good game. I got my pre-order ready.

I could see why you would say that and it is true for most devices that has the software done by Netflix.

However, on the Xbox 360, MS coded it and implemented seamless stream switching and buffer analysis. This means in close to real-time it will determine if it can bump up or lower your quality to adjust for network congestion and etc.

On the other platforms, it will pick one quality at the beginning and stick with it throughout the whole movie. This means even if ...

To me, I treat electronics like disposable items i.e. I replace them when they break so I prefer a lower buy in price. With that said, extra warranty is a nice thing for the consumer, but comes at an extra cost to the manufacturer that basically have to be passed back to the consumer.

However, I wish when I bought my PS3 there were an option to buy extended warranty. I paid $650+ for the MGS4 LE PS3 direct from Konami and it is to some extent irreplaceable.

With tha...

I apologize and I admit that I had some point completely mistaken what I had inteded to say instead of what I really said. English unfortunately is not my first language so you get "imprecise" meaning and it can easily be read wrong.

In my mind I was saying "in general motion control will be fairly imprecise especially compared to well known controllers such as steering wheels and analog sticks". Motion control is BETTER suited to games that don't rely on prec...

Having more precision doesn't mean it is precise.

There are no false conclusion. Are you saying that the PS Move doesn't rely on the Gyroscopes? What you get from the camera is limited and you can't rely on it. Why? Because sometimes the movement will be too fast...

I don't like GameStop, but realistically they have to buy your games on the cheap and sell them at a good profit margin to make up for games that don't sell or loose value fast.

They have all these costs such as employees and retail space. I used to think it was unfair, but if you look at other outfits that compete with them for the most part they are about the same taken into account that they are practically online outfits only (such as Toys R'us and Amazon).

What ...
