I'm surprised that, no wait, I'm NOT!
... that people blame the hacker when the vulnerability is there because of the manufacturer. It's as if I would blame the hacker, when MS opened the door. Let Sony do their job and you as a consumer do your job, not let Sony take away features you already paid for!
Fact is, whether you like it or not hacking will always be there and Sony has so far has survived with any piracy since the PS3 was released. That is a feat!!!

I think Kojima should stick to making video games and leave the predictions alone. There is no indication that consoles will go away, in fact it has grown tremendously.
He didn't give a reason for what catalyst will kill console gaming. Unless he thinks the likes of iPhone/iPad will kill it....
Nintendo was in last gen, what Sony is this gen.
If anything, Nintendo have shown that they are able to innovate. So a new console might just not mean just a bump in technology. Nintendo already indicated that a new console would have to come with new experiences.
On the other hand all Sony is doing is just copying Nintendo hoping casuals will flock to their console which is unlikely. MS has a more family friendly image, but is jumping into the casual space because ...
Unfortunately, we only heard PART of one side of the story. There seems to be missing parts to his story and besides, it is in Santa Monica.
Although racism exist in California and we do have KKK and all that "good" stuff, it is among the most diverse states in the US so it is hard to believe a store in Santa Monica would be racist.
There might have been some mis-communication. I would imagine that a sales person would be ecstatic to hear a customer say, I'...
I have not seen any DRM on any console related game/peripheral in any way that is intrusive and that is among the reasons I would just rather stick with them than PC....
Unless you consider non-standard accessories a DRM i.e. laptop hard drives don't work with the 360 out of the box....
I think it has something to do with installing from a Blu-Ray discs. Sony doesn't allow that so the content all have to reside on one disc playable from the disc or exist as a DLC.
I always wanted a sniper game... Silent Scope was pretty good, but really required an arcade to properly play it. I might have to check out that Sniper Elite game for the PS2.
No, but if Sony would preemptively released this information in advance it would reduce the likelihood of people mistaking (or fanboy rant) this for the end of the PS3... articles that is.
A lot of good information on Natal and PrimeSense....
Well said Sony. They are making strides in turning around their business strategy. The crying baby and some of the earlier ads were just freaky. I did like the one where all these things where coming out of the PS3... that was artistically cool.
I do like the Kevin Butler ads, especially the one where he mocks other motion control technology. All in good fun!
Still I dislike the whole removal of features we already sold you ("Other OS"). I think that is th...
I don't know about you, but I don't care if he is the president. I judge them based on what they say, what their motives are and what their professional background is. After all, the president also says some stupid sh!t every now and then.
David Cage is talking about something that is clearly been done for ages, skinning something with a picture taken from a camera. Both the Vision Cam and the PS Eye can do that no problem. As a influential person, perhaps he should think a littl...
Thank you for acknowledging my question.
I disagree that it is my problem that I can't play the latest games when that is what I was promised when the console was sold to me by Sony.
If you support that, well one day you might just find that Sony disabled the ability to allocate more than 5GB of hard drive space, because some smock figured out a way to boot PS3 games off the hard drive.
I have no issue with them removing the feature from PS3 slim, althou...
"I think "First it giveth then it taketh away" is a more fitting tagline(Backwards compability, OtherOS)." -soda
LOL... that is hilarious!
Complete off topic, but hilarious none the less. I would also like to add SACD support removal since we are talking about hardware changes as well.

With Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (or was it 1) you could take a snapshot with the Vision Camera of your face and have it pasted onto the characters face in game. So why is it not possible to scan in the pattern on a Skateboard and skin the skateboard in game?
Now I must concede that the promo video is a little optimistic, but aren't the always?
I think David Cage should stick to making games and discussing things he has first hand experience with.
Maybe David C...
That is my point, the Virtual Boy's failure had little to do with Nintendo's ability to compete. In my opinion it was a string of miscalculated business moves and the lack of third party support.
Sony just had a much better product to boot and a very successful marketing campaign where they basically scared consumers into waiting for the PS2 (this was more of a Dreamcast issue). Personally, I think Sony's move was genius!!!
I don't care about PSN as it is a service.
I'm saying, can I play God of War 4 or Uncharted 3 without the software update? NO!
I'm forced to pick between two features and there is NO OPTION plain and simple.
@Dacapn
Whatever makes you feel better. It doesn't change whatever I said is true.
@frosty below:
Are you saying that I can play any future PS3 games without a software update? That the game will never require me to have a sp...
Kojima, Itagaki and a host of other well known game designers didn't release a game for years. All their games must suck! /s
I wonder what game designer you play games from since I don't know a single one able to deliver a new quality game every year. Enlighten me please.
I just bought Fable 2 the Limited Edition for $20. Can't wait to try it out once I finish my backlog.... I love Molyneux vision even if he doesn't always deliver.
With that said, a part of me dies when I see the majority of the list are celebrities as what people considers the most influential people!
Now there are going to almost certainly be issues with firmware upgrades and is one of the reason why you shouldn't be upgrading it to often because there is a risk.
With that said, to dismiss issues simply because you didn't experience it is plain ignorance or fanboyism. The source points to the official Playstation forum, I mean these are the people that owns and use PS3s. You couldn't get any better source than the users reporting it themselves in public.
Now it m...
