I would love hardcore games for Kinect and holding out that it will come. With that said, Kinect is exciting to me because it enables a new interface for gaming that I dreamed about as a kid. Despite it's problems, this might be the big game changer for gaming interface.
Looking back, we had the 2 button and 1 d-pad controller from Nintendo and look at how that evolved to day, gazillion buttons and freakin 2 analogs. It works, but isn't damn near intuitive at all. So...
Well the 3D patch could be paid DLC!
If you already paid $150+ for your 3D glasses and another $1000 extra for your 3D ready TV. Who cares about $10 per game?
When I was a kid playing video games was nerdy. Then I grew into some minor programming in PC, that was definitely nerdy. Didn't stop me from doing it and today, the whole situation has completely changed!

Of course the hardcore gamers are upset there are no games for me. The majority of the gaming press at E3 is also gaming enthusiast i.e. hard core gamers.

They kind of already showed it possible with Forza Kinect... so with the proper uptake it will come! Are there hard core games on the Wii?

3D will evolve and this is just the tip of it! Unfortunately, early adopters will over pay for technology that will not be supported in the mainstream for a long time.
By the time 3D is as abundant as HDTVs are today, we will be far into the next generation where the next console can handle full 1080p HD in 3D. Currently we are getting barely full 720p HD games, let alone 3D!

I was disappointed that MS didn't show any new exclusives. Usually MS shows stuff that comes out relatively soon and no more than 18 months out, but I was hoping for something for the hardcore gamer to look forward to. I am so far happy with Halo:Reach, Fable 3 and Gears 3 in the near future.
With that said though, it seemed they didn't show almost any third party stuff either. If you look at Sony a big chunk of their time was devoted to EA and a host of other third p...
Turn10 already said that for hardcore gamers that want to experience Forza 4, they should get a steering wheel.
They aren't there to replace your current controller, but rather add to it with Kinect. The Kinect option is a fun thing to do for now, but racing enthusiast probably has a steering wheel.

What has been reported and makes sense is PrimeSense is providing parts of the technology for the hardware and part of it for software, more specifically the simple interface controls. The skeleton mapping is all MS.
Check out the second link and the second video at the bottom to see the technology in action with a guy sitting. That is less of a promo video and more of a tech demonstration.
