I guess somebody didn't read the article!
"The article says that the camera can "see" any number of people on the camera at a time, but it can only run calculations on two of those people at a time due to the processing that needs to be done."
But if the processing has been moved to the 360 instead of their proprietary chip then suddenly it is possible....
It's just not ataka, it is at least another 10 people agreeing....
I will wait to buy it and see what games is coming out for it. At a $130 minimum and potentially a $180 depending on the number of wands needed, I think I will with the Wii HD clone experience.
This caught my attention:
"We're looking for very, very substantial numbers." he said in an interview with GI.biz. "We've been deliberately very competitive and aggressive about the pricing that we've set against it."
Th...
Except, in the video I hear REPEATEDLY one of the guys literally saying:
"That's pretty cool dude! WOW"
Sure you can simplify all this down to a button and in some instances this makes sense, but looking around and interacting with an object is about immersion....
...and I'm sure it is very comfortable!
In Kinects defense, it is among the top selling gaming product on amazon.com and right now it is probably selling it to hardcore gamers not your casuals yet as the majority of them don't own an Xbox 360 or might not even have heard of Kinect yet.
I think it is too soon to hear back from hardcore gamers because frankly the majority of them haven't even tried it yet! Although I suspect the majority prefer to leave Kinect alone or use a hybrid system with a controller an...
To get the full experience of PS Move, you will need at a minimum
2x Wands ($50/each)
1x Webcam ($40/each)
That is about $140 if you are willing to put up with the DualShock 3 as the navigator. Include the navigator and you are looking at a $170 for one gamer!
Why do you need two Wands you ask? Well, there is this game called The Fight: Lights Out that requires two wands to detect motion!
In fact, this article only as...
Havok above me got it right.
Nobody is forcing anyone to buy a 360 or a PS3. You can choose to NOT buy the 360, stop using the 360 or even sell/trade it in for a PS3 anytime you want. Clearly there are a significant amount of people that prefer the 360 as well as there are people that prefer the PS3.
Nothing wrong with that! The only thing wrong is thinking your subject idea of value should be applied to everyone else!!!
I'm not saying they should piss over all their customers, but a business needs to profit in order for it to be able to support it's customers. When you buy a product you place a value on it and consider it worthwhile or not. Let the market decide....
If Sony went out of business (which they won't!), it is neither good for me nor you! When a business model works, it benefits everyone. However, everyone seem to think it is fine that a huge corporation loses some mon...
The thing with amazon.com is that in the past it listed the PS3 at the top, but by the time the NPD numbers comes out the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3!
With that said, pre-orders are relevant in that it shows interest enough to consider putting money down on it. That is considerably better than not pre-ordering i.e. showing no interest!!!
I think Kinect will be a hit with the casuals, for the hardcore it remains to be seen, but so far it seems to be all hate. How...
....
Wll there is that "the fight: lights out" game that I think also requires two wands....
Steam on the Xbox 360 would never happen. Why? Because MS is smart enough to protect their profits.
I applaud Sony for being such an open platform, but just like the free PSN and the generous hardware offering, their profits are suffering. By letting Steam on their platform they are essentially de-valuing PSN current offerings and potentially (because we don't exactly know what Valve's plans are) hurting their profits.
I hope that whatever partnershi...
Nah, I think it is a sign of times when the Sony makes a splash by stealing MS exclusives and such. That is basically acknowledging MS, something they didn't do just 3-4 years ago.
In another turn of event, Valve was one of the most hated company from the PS3 consumers. Now they are the most beloved!
In one year, we got multiple company turn from exclusive to multi-platform and it seems the consumers still don't understand that in the end there is no...
That is what I was thinking. For one I though all I needed was a PS Eye, the wand and the navigator. Then I found out the DS3 can be used instead of the navigator in a hobbled way which was a releif... then I found a game, The Fight: Lights Out, that kind of requires two wands!!!
So even for one player to experience everything the PS Move has to offer it is a minimum $150 investment if you choose to use the DS3 for a navigator. Tack on a navigator and you are looking at $180 ...
I think people are missing the point. People aren't just paying XBL to play games online, they are paying to be part of the XBL community.
That is what MS has built, they have built a social gaming experience that PS never planned for. If Sony did, they would have included a headset in it.
Fact of the matter is, people complain why PS3 has more value in almost every aspect even online, yet a significant amount of people still choose the more expensive pl...
It is a good article!
The majority of pre-orders for the Kinect only without the console are for current gamers i.e. hardcore. Without a showing of practically any hard core games, it is selling well!
... or maybe just Pachter's wild predictions that garner a lot of hits get attention, while the correct predictions get glossed over since it is boring!
