because getting an experienced third party to develop your games increases your chance of success.

All I know is that the 360 is holding its own with the PS3s supposed superior hardware, superior exclusives, the number of exclusives and the free online game. You would think that all those combined would make a killer machine, especially at the current price point. That is not only counting the Playstation and Sony branding. The fact that it doubles as a blu-ray player.

As far as I can tell, this generation Sony is the only looser. Nintendo increased their market share from...

There is no point in pointing out weakness when all systems have it, but to answer your questions.

*** asyouburn says:
"butg it can track the controllers, which you hold in your hands, so in a roundabout way, it does track your arms. "

Well, it can't track the position of your arm or how it is positioned. PS Move essentially tracks your fist at all times only. That is why in some fitness games you can cheat, but mimicking the movement wi...

But you don't have full body tracking with PS Move, so no using your legs or both arms!

My point being, there are weaknesses in both systems, the developer will have to deal with those and make a fun game!

Perhaps the brits should get upset at their government for driving the game development industry to Canada. That is what happens when you raise taxes in general let alone in a recession.

There are plenty of talents elsewhere, so the owner of these studios can just pack and say good bye!

I guess the brits are outraged because the advert is effectively asking them to outsource their work to North America threatening their jobs....

With inflation (which I'm sure will hit soon after recession recovers) it seems to be within reason to charge $600 for the next generation of consoles. Expect a $600 price tag on the high end units!

@raztad
Unfortunately, consoles have almost always had high tech electronics to outlast the cycle. The current components are cheaper, but new technology isn't. Console manufacturers will have the same issue, but they are likely to choose lower end components next ...

I can see that, I tried Kinect with the racing game for like what 90 seconds and I started to sweat. Yeah, try that gardening!

The other thing that is nice with Kinect is it can detect your posture and correct them. Normally that would require a personal trainer or some sort of class, now you can do it at home.

... but I guess most hardcore gamers are a sedentary bunch sadly.

Because a group of gamers can't play two player games or play in turn like in almost every other game on the market catered to a group?

I think the only chance PS Move has is appealing to hardcore gamers, but they are somewhat resistive to Motion Controls so they have an uphill battle. If Sony can get that hardcore gaming market, it would be very profitable. However, they priced it too high....

I think it is far too late for a Wii clone going for the casual market. The hardcore market is still open Sony, but will be very hard to get!

Kinect will probably not appeal to hard core gamers. MS doesn&...

Here is the thing, I don't think Hulu Plus will have all those features listed by the author on Xbox Live. However, small social features do make a difference in certain circumstances, such as cross game chat and party system for gaming.

With that said, I don't think the wait will be 6-months between the other devices get them and when Xbox rolls out their Hulu version. Neither do I think anyone is really clamoring for $10/monthly service to Hulu Plus when said conten...

"Shipping a console with an Ethernet port? Oh, it'll never succeed. Paying for multiplayer? Oh no, that's not good. I don't like avatars; I won't buy anything that goes to my avatar. The Wii... I mean no offence hardcore gamers, you've kinda been wrong a lot for the past ten years.

So is the article saying that Game changed the trade-in value after you traded it in? If so, that is pretty shady. Otherwise, Game are free to change their trade-in value at any time!

I'm not here to discuss with you about sales number that is non-existent, meaning nothing concrete. Neither will I deny that Sony has had an excellent 9-month run and gained market share, but the momentum is slowing down. You can only get so much with a price cut and a re-design. Same thing happened to the 360, it had a price cut did great around Christmas of 2008' and did marginally increased sales all the way until Sony cut their price in September of 2009. See the trend?

It's sad to see a great game like Alan Wake sell so poorly as the consumers keep balking about how the industry only creates sequels, yet the top selling game is an existing franchise and the new IP is selling poorly.

Either way, I enjoyed the game greatly! I guess chances for a sequel is probably non-existent.

Did you look at the numbers?

May 2010:

DS – 383.7K
Wii – 334.8K
360 – 194.6K
PS3 – 154.5K
PSP – 59.4K

April 2010:

DS – 440.8K
Wii – 277.2K
360 – 185.4K
PS3 – 180.8
PSP – 65.5K

Did you notice that of the three big console manufacturers, only Sony's sale declined month-to-month. So the question then is how is Sony keeping the momentum? It's...

LOL, it really pisses me off that there is always somebody that think their opinion is better or in some way matter more than everyone elses.

Have you ever heard of the term:

"Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and it stinks!"
