Is it me or is Sony trying really hard to shoot themselves in the foot:
- Releasing Home on the same day as NPD numbers (that they surely know they didn't do to well against the competition). Surely NPD numbers is taking away the Home thunder
- Stagnant pricing (no discount in sight)
- Delaying LBP due to a soundtrack....
- Releasing SOCOM when it wasn't ready (WTF is up with the serious network issues)
- This is personal opinion and my rant really: ...
I loved the game and was very excited about the various C&C games. However, as soon as EA took over Westwood Studios, it was downhill....
Wow, that is a serious error. How the heck do you get corrupt files?
If I get a Yellow Light of Death, at least I can get it fixed. I get a corrupt savegame and I'm f**ked! Got to go backup my savegames...
VGCharts has proven to be off by up to 20%.... However, this means that PS3 sold in the 200k's and the 360 in the 400k's.
Bottom line is, people can give reasons for one way or the other and spin numbers. Bottom line is, total units sold so far matters and what the future hold is uncertain (unless you are Nintendo). Meaning the tide can turn really quickly....
My bets are on the 360, that will hold it's low price for a long time while Sony is getting in a worse fina...
It might be different regions and such differences in the speed i.e. if you are getting it from a European server as opposed to US. Although I won't rule out problems with my network, it has run rock solid on a WRT54GL router with a Linux based firmware. Ports are opened based on UPnP.
Torrents, Xbox and other stuff on the network haven't had any problems with automatically opening ports.
Even a firmware download on PC from Sony, although faster, yielded a 80Kb/s...
They are both prbably correct, since PAL territories only includes Australia, New Zealand and specific European countries. While MS is stating just for the entire Europe. If you are picking countries, you can spin data anyway you want.
The numbers will decide in about 1-2 weeks, but with the price drop it is expecting that MS will pull ahead. If it doesn't, they will end up third place again.
In this war, I would say it is a win for MS for increased brand recogn...
Well anytime you do an update there is a small risk that something goes wrong, i.e. power goes out, faulty write and etc...
It is true that small updates are easier to manage, duh. However, I don't want to be bombarded with an update all the time with very little or some times insignificant features added. So far we received 2.50, 2.51 and 2.53.... next we got 2.54....
It took me freaken 40 minutes to do an firmware 2.53 on the PS3 yesterday. It took me less than 7 minutes (yes, I time them since I noticed my PS3 always took forever) to update to NXE on launch day!
WTF is going on with Sony? All I got was a few measly updates and I had to wait 40 minutes....
Everybody has their opinion about which console is best and one can argue one way or the other with numbers.
Either way you look at it, MS has done much better this generation and the only one loosing market share from previous generation is Sony. As MS and Nintendo sells more consoles, Sony looses more market share from the PS2 era that they dominated.
To Microsoft this is a win in two generations, MS turned the table and now is on par with Sony in terms of worldwid...
Did it take 40 freaken minutes to do the update yesterday for anyone else? I was like, this is a 130MB update.... WTF?
Because that would be common sense, and we know that common sense is not very common....
I want to point out that most people here jumped to conclusion that MS is at fault, but remember the case with the guy claiming warranty was not upheld by Sony because the machine was so dusty.
Everybody jumped to conclusion that Sony is at fault, and once Sony released the pictures everyone realized the freakin guy must have used in console in the desert or something.
My point is, listen to both sides and since MS has released any information, don't assume they ...
What are the phantom disagrees for? Are you dumb?
It is an optional feature! I can't scream that out loud enough, but apparently I'm screaming into a wall. What part of it is bad?
Sony didn't give you a drive just to install games, but also to store media, downloadable content, new Operating System and more.
I own a 40GB PS3 and I'm not happy that I might have to upgrade the drive in the near future. Unless I want to do a 20-30 minute install everytime I want to play certain games (which is becoming increasingly more of).
Both consoles have faults, but don't complain about optional features. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.... ...
How is the XMB more user friendly?
I like the design, but it is no where near the friendliness of the NXE. Half the time I'm looking for stuff and it is in oddest places, not to mention some of the option are hidden away in some odd button press instead of just displaying it on screen....
I like my PS3, but it is no way user friendly.
The thing I don't like about the NXE is that they didn't do too good of a job to group things, but beyond that it i...
It is amazing what people will complain about. So what if you have to cue up your movies on a PC? I think the benefit far outweighs the downside (if any, really). What if I don't have a PC connected to my TV. Perhaps, I don't want to buy another PC just for this purpose....
Netflix is a value added service, you ain't paying extra for it so quit whining!
I guess most of the people here that complain about it that actually own and use a 360 probably wanted the NXE...
I can't believe people don't notice the difference in game?!
There is far better texture and detail on everything. I noticed it immediately and was wowed. To me, this game is graphically one of the best I have seen this generation. This game should really be played to tell the difference, not from a video with compression artifacts.
This game is also a sequel on the same platform, so with some optimization you will see some differences. However, expecting leaps a...
Heck of a deal unless you get a dud.... I would never buy a refurbished 360. That's like buying a salvaged cards at a premium.
$200-300 for new Xbox, $150 for used. Between 75% to 50% off original cost.... When was the last time you saw a salvaged rebuilt car for 50% of the original cost?
BlackFriday.info is just trying to get hits. Why is this getting approved?
There is nothing of interrest here and worse most of the games listed there are sold at regular price! Ditch the amateur looking site and stop approving it.
Why are all the Sony fanboys hanging out here for? It is clear that the 360 is easier to develop for and that should cause no harm to the quality of the game. If anything having a technically more capable, but yet more difficult console to develop for can cause quality to go down since staff resources are now spent on overcoming these issues.
Anyone that says anything else is an idiot and should go play with their PS3.
