Apparently, I'm a little behind on the gaming news.... Perhaps, ninty should have done more marketing.
Very different situation. Did retailers take your pre-order for FF13? Did anyone give you a date for FF13?
In addition, most likely a new team was brought in to port the PS3 version to the 360 instead of removing people from the core team to do a stupid port? Catch my drift....
To PS fans, this might seem like a great idea, but what if MS now get a timed exclusive on MW2 (or any other multi-platform game) after already announcing a date? What if you put down a pre-or...
Sony's product used to be insanely overpriced relative to anything else. It uses to (at least in Europe) to be trendy and sexy like Apple and thus can command that pricing.
Over the years it seems (or maybe because the US sees it different) this has eroded and Sony's brand power isn't quite the same. I find their Tv's to be in the same pricing category as Samsungs which relative to branding in my opinion a better buy (although Sony Tv's often have Samsung panels).
Pl...
Unfortunately, I kind of disagree with you. I used to live in Europe and more specifically Norway. Part of the reason why it cost so much more in European countries are often higher wages and taxes. Not to mention stricter warranty regulations. To complicate matters, currency fluctuations also affect the final price.
You really have to look at buying power as well and taking all of that into account the price is probably right for Europeans relative to the US.
The other issue is, does this unit have expandable memory? I mean with UMD's you can take as many as you want with you, but PSP Go can only store about 10 games or so.... that is if you don't have anything else on it.
On the other hand, a price cut might not happen since PSP Go is $250. PS3 at $300 represents a significantly better value although different market segments unless Sony plans to cut the price of PSP Go a mere 3 months later... That will sure to piss of some consumers.
As Kushan said, KillZone 2 isn't open world. You see the most issues with data load speeds in open world games because it is hard to predict what a user will do and the seer amount of data in the world. Hence the many pop-ups in Infamous and GTA IV.
On the other hand though, there is a slight load time in KZ2 as the game completely freezes for about 2-5 seconds while it fetches the data. This happens quite frequently, but is better than one large 2 minute wait.
I say...
Sucks for the European customers that had this on pre-order expecting release only to be snubbed by Sony. However, somehow I don't think this game is that big and very few people really care.
I think Atari made a big mistake here, because this will only anger the fans. If it is a timed exclusive, do it before announcing release dates and taking pre-orders.
If you have a game spread on multiple discs the core content must be repeated. However, you can compress textures and especially audio. Audio at a high bit rate brings very little extra fidelity for most people so that is the first to be compressed heavily.
According to that link I gave earlier, MGS4 has 18GB's of audio data. That is 60% audio.... SO I would say 3 discs in MGS4 is more than doable, but quality is slightly compromised in comparison to the PS3 version.
Yeah, this was lame to report in the first place. Even worse is when you have proof to the contrary, but decides to point it out in your story.
It's as if I said, my Xbox doesn't get RROD then in the article I state, but this guy got RROD... duh! Disproving your own story.....
If the skin absorbs the infrared signal, just emit a higher amount. As long as it isn't a dangerous level it will be fine.
Wow, it looks like we might see this Motion+ soon in the US. Although, Ninty did announce this at last years E3....
Actually the size is apparently around 30GB (just follow the link in the below thread for a picture proof):

What you posted appears to be some kind of bonus material... Of course, Kojima used a lot of uncompressed sound that takes up the majority of the space
I like the fact that achievements/trophies keep a history of my progress in games and that I'm rewarded for completing tasks. The most beatiful thing about achievements/trophies are, if you don't like it just ignore it. It has no effect on your gaming experience....
So why the hate then?
What does MS has to do with this? Why does every article has to be MS vs. Sony?
Pachter is talking about how PSP Go cost about the same as the current PSP to manufacture, yet Sony hiked the price $80. I kind of agree here, as far as I know the PSP Go has less features (unable to take UMD), but cost almost 50% more. Has a smaller screen, unable to play homebrew and is a more profitable business model for Sony.
On the other hand, if you don't like it don't buy it. Vot...
Although, I don't care much for Apple, the iPhone is awesome. However, it is not a $100/month awesome for me....
To iPhone owners, can you tether your laptop to the iPhone without jailbreaking?
A lot of good tidbits. I want more of this and less of who won E3....
I think with the motion controller, Sony should focus on the hardcore market. That is where their strength is. I mean look a the PS3. It screams high tech piece of equipment. Then you look at the Wii it screams casual. Then you look at the 360 and it is somewhere between.
From advertising, to design and implementation, the PS3 is for the hardcore gamer or the movie enthusiast not your grannies and kiddies.
So basically they doubled their sales on this game, by chopping the price in half they sold 4 times as much. Maybe other games will follow in it's footsteps.
I didn't intend it to generalize the statement, but rather to illustrate a point that the cell's architecture can quickly change your code extremely complex for sometimes the simplest things.
Case in point this is a breadth first search (BFS) nothing complicated and very commonly used (in fact you learn this in the introductory CS course at UCB and in most other schools the datastructure class). This is extremely easy to implement and in my opinion shouldn't take 600 lines of cod...
This actually brings up an interesting question. Why isn't there a GeoW clone on PS3?
I have no problems with clones as long as it is a good game!!!
