Seriously...for some reason I feel like we just got started on this generation of consoles and we're already getting ready for the new set of consoles. I could understand if Nintendo wanted to put out a more hardcore gaming console to try and attract that market along with the Wii (so that they would still be developing games for both), but it can't already be time to change out the 360. Anyone know when this game is slated to come out. On gamefaqs it has quarter 3 2008 and I was just curious if they have any date planned yet. I'm really looking forward to getting this game. The sooner the better.
I was pumped for this game when I heard about it. After reading that article I'm even more pumped about it because Aliens was my favorite movie of the Alien franchise and it seems that they are really studying it in depth to get everything right. The use of the motion detector sounds awesome, because I that was a great plot device and atmosphere maker in the movie, scaring the crap out of you with simple pings and white dots.

Pretty much, if you think about it, no game is perfect. Games that are very good but have huge followings are automatically going to get anywhere between a 9 and 10 from gaming critics because of the pressure to appease the games' rabid fanbases (and indirectly their advertisers). I finally got to play the demo last night, and I feel like it was a very "eh" game. As in, it wasn't great, it wasn't bad, just "eh", no feelings one way or the other. The only thing that bothered me though, which is probably more from playing COD4 too much, is that the only way to zoom in/take aim is to push in the right analog stick. I just prefer to be able to zoom in to take aim using one of the shoulder buttons.

As you said BMI follows a formula using only height and mass. It doesn't take into account build or muscle mass. Better measurement of body fat is done by caliper skin pinch tests and I also believe the army uses neck to waist ratio but I may be mistaken. Regardless BMI is junk to anyone who knows anything about it.
BMI is actually a crock for anyone who is considered and athlete. There is a disclaimer on pretty much every thing where BMI is used saying that scale may not apply to athletes. I usually don't try to get involved with fanboy flame wars. But do you think the same 360 fanboys that post "Blu-ray sucks, upconverting DVD is just as good, you can't even tell the difference" are the same ones that are saying "PS3 GTA4 is terrible, its only 640p and all grainy while the 360 version is 720p and razor sharp". I love "Aliens" and hope this is a great Aliens game for the next gen systems where we get to rock some aliens and a hopefully scare the crap out of us as well. Having the aliens as playable characters ala AVP would rock as well.
Any PC game list is an utter failure if they have any other RTS game above Starcraft, this list has 3. Super Failure. I mean the game is still played by many today, 10 years after its release.
Although they did get one thing right when they picked Tie Fighter over X-Wing. They also reminded me of X-com, which was such an awesome game.
But this commercial rocked, and the music was especially awesome.
I might need to check this out. The first Red Faction game was beyond awesome, but I never got around to playing Red Faction 2 though. But if it's a quality game like the orignial this will be well worth a look. Environment destruction and the rail gun sweet.
I really hope this article is assuming you are only using the ps3 as a blue ray player and not for gaming. B/c if he is not, does he realize that if I buy another blu ray player to run my blu rays on along with my ps3, i'm actually wasting more energy (ps3 power consumption < ps3 + stand alone power consumption), since my ps3 is going to be on regardless.
