I completely forgot about nuking people with like 5 ghosts and getting the Nu Nu Nu Nu Nuclear launch detected.
Heck, I used to love pretty much all of the sound bites from the games different units.
"My life for Aiur" (Zealot I believe)
"Need a light?" (FireBat)
"BakBarkBak" (that the guardian barking)
And many many more
Well said, too bad not enough people realize this. Without competition you get stuff like EA's latest Madden games, no effort and no innovation, aka a pile of flaming dog poo.
Has nothing really to do with the game, more with the people playing so far. I don't have a lot of PSN friends and none of my friends have really gotten into MGO so I usually just join random games that have a decent amount of people in them.
I often find that a majority of the games I play in either:
(a) half the people leave after like 5-10 minutes and it really ticks me off or
(b) people are playing MGO like any other shooter and don't play as a team which is ...
No offense to Silicon Knights, but the reason Blizzard would downplay this is b/c frankly they could care less. Too Human is an unproven new IP where as Diablo 3 could be a piece of flaming dogsh*t (I know it won't, Blizzard wouldn't do that) and it would still sell millions and millions more than Too Human or any of its successors.
Another Metroid game
I just don't think they are that interesting...
That being said, I would make an exception for a Starcraft MMO.
They were around before the Playstation, they didn't target all audiences regardless of age or sex with the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, or Sega Master System...I guess they should actually be to blame going by this blog's logic, right?
This is absolutely ridiculous. Sony screwed up the market by targeting males in their 20's with the Playstation. Wait a second...I could have swore Nintendo and Sega were around before Sony even made their first system, don't they get any blame?
Nintendo revolutionized the market with the DS and Wii by targeting everyone...wait...no mention that Nintendo had the same exact marketing strategy as Sony for the first 20 years of it's existence, but it's just Sony's fault?
U...
If he did all of the work and research and development on these patent applications while he was at Sony (and on Sony's dime) then I'm sure they own the rights to the Patent Application.
FYI just so everyone knows, these are not Patents, but Patent Applications, so there is no guarantee they will become patents without some major changes/modifications.
But I wouldn't mind seeing what Kojima could do with another original IP. Can you imagine the buzz that would be around whatever he would make?
If you read the article they interview some Sony guy and he talks about the future of the PSP. Now he gives a lot of the middle of the road answers to some stuff but he talks a lot about the future of the PSP. The fact that he is talking about the future means that it is not dying. He says the current lack of game releases is due to the lack of sales before they released the psp slim, and that more developers are interested for developing after the recent increase of sales (especially with...
Fiscal year ends in September. So there are only about 2 1/2 months left in the fiscal year, not half a year.
Edit: I was going by the US Fiscal year, which ends September 30th. The Japanese fiscal year ends March 30th as pointed out by 2.13 below. I guess that Sony would probably go by the Japanese fiscal year being that they are a Japanese based company (I always hated economics so I have no idea how they cooperate their number between the main office and the SCEA offices ...
and as I scrolled down I was waiting for at least one Castlevania castle. Never showed up. Big disappointment.
I never stated that MGS4 itself will reduce developing cost or time, and if that's what it came across as, I apologize. What I mean to say is that by other developers seeing a game look and play as well as MGS4 has and the sales that MGS4 is experiencing, I think that it will sway some of the developers to actually put some effort into developing the game for ps3 rather than just porting it from the 360 version.
And to your first point, although we have only seen it on a couple ...
Here I come
I agree with most of what you said. However, you point out that it takes more time and money to develop for the ps3. Therein is where I believe there will be change happening in the near future. The only reason it is more expensive now is b/c the ps3 uses newer (and untested) technology and the 360 was out for a year before.
On the newer technology front, whenever something new or different comes out as a tool people don't necessarily know how to utilize the hardware so they...
It seems that the article blew a lot of the stuff out of proportion. On top of that, like stated above me in 2, the article can be a little fanboyish based on the fact that he said there is only one great game on the ps3. Lastly, he tops it off with the fanboy comment "voice chatting to my friend over Xbox Live."
I mean, he could be a unbiased gamer, but why would an unbiased gamer discredit themselves by saying something that has nothing to do with the rest of the ar...
Is it X Box exclusive? Or is just another multiplatform game they put on this list?
Both this list and the list on the same site made of the top 10 ps3 games that will turn you one were horrible.
I think my personal favorites came from the Dragoons. I don't even think I can accurately portray some of the stuff they said in words. Man, all this talk about Starcraft and we still have to wait like 6 more months minimum for Starcraft II, argh.
