More often than not when I ask them to turn it down the music or to cut back on the swearing it results in them turning up the music and then cussing more frequently.
If everyone having a headset/mic on live is a good or bad thing.
It's good in the fact that you get to talk strategy and what not. It bad/terrible whenever 90% of the games I go into have 5 year olds singing into their mic or playing music or overusing 4 letter words. Sure you can mute them, but its a pain.
On the other hand, there is nothing worse then logging onto Metal Gear Online and trying to coordinate tactics but most, if not all of the people on your te...
When there were Rumors that they were gonna make a Castlevania game for the Wii (turns out it was a Castlevania fighting game, not the same thing). People were suggesting using the wii mote like a whip. I told them straight up they were crazy. Do they realize how much you whip in Castlevania, you would have to limit yourself to like 1 hour long sessions max for the posterity of your arm.
The same would definitely be true if they did it with GoW3, although I doubt they would ...
No problem, I just noticed b/c X-Com is probably my favorite PC game. I used to waste hours on end playing it and it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw MicroProse. Good job on updating the article.
But it's just about as much proof as a lot of people were using to say that there will be no Final Fantasy XIII at E3, IMO.
I didn't have much hope for this movie, but it looks damn good. And you're right, the jumping and shooting while flying through the air definitely made me think of the game.
Hope they don't mess this up, I remember being very emotionally attached to the first Max Payne game.
But how the eff do you talk about MicroProse and not mention X-Com: UFO Defense, perhaps the greatest PC game of all time? I mean come on, that's a no brainer!
I agree, this game looks awesome. I wasn't sure about it, but after watching the trailer, I'm convinced I buy it.
I mean they show obviously the general direction of the games storyline before you play it. So if you don't want to be surprised you probably shouldn't watch it. My curiousity got the best of me, and I watched it. Despite the fact that the trailer was awesome and made me definitely want to get the game, I'm kind of disappointed it showed as much as it did. Given they're just scenes and we don't know the context, it still seems like a lot of spoilers.
And I figured it was someone just fishing for controversy about copyright infringement and what not. But after looking at those picture comparisons...there is no way that is all a coincidence.
Or will there be a similar release date in NA? I have a EU account but I've never tried to buy anything on it, that's why I'm curious.
The Japanese store gets all of these sweet PSN releases and WE GET NOTHING. It can't be that hard to put the English versions on the NA or EU store.
I pointed him towards the open zone for several of his comments:
1. "Who cares about final fantasy?" - ummmmm....a whole crap ton of people care about final fantasy, it is easily one of the top selling and usually highly rated rpgs with each new game in the series
2. "the game market clearly having chosen Xbox 360 for the HD consoles" - once again, this is clear, i'm pretty sure it's not clear at all, unless your are pro-microsoft or anti-sony...

I still can't believe that they are allowed to have an exclusive license with the NFL to pretty much bar any other company from making a football game. They have single handedly ruined my love for football games ever since they started spewing out the same game with updated rosters since 2005.
Plus, every other game from EA sucks (except for NHL'08), Army of Two was the last straw for me.
Yeah, I've seen so many comments based on headlines and the opening paragraphs that get posted under the headlines that are completely off base. If people would take the time to read the article before making their comments or not comment at all if you aren't gonna read the article it would make the discussions 100x better.
“The President has been kidnapped by ninjas. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the President?”
That phrase is the epitome of awesome.
Your right, same thing happens with any semi popular anime.
Also, the only thing I would argue with is the Pokemon snobs. You will run into that with any video game that is popular.
And as someone else pointed out above, if you think about it, it might not have influenced him when he made Metal Gear Solid. But I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it was very influential in his creation of MGS2, MGS3, and MGS4. I think that's what he means when he lists it.
If this is what I believe it is supposed to be, 5 players taking on waves of locusts to see how long they can last/how many kills they can rack up, that is awesome.
A bit off topic, but I was thinking about a mode like this whenever I saw they were releasing Aliens: Colonial Marines. I mean, how completely badass would it be to recreate the awesome "death from a above" scene from Aliens with 5 players fighting off a horde of aliens. Oh well, I guess I'll just have t...
