Press X to Jason!!! lol
LOL...Participation trophies for EVERYBODY!!!
You kinda answered your own question. The ONLY reason that Justin Bieber continues to be a thing is BECAUSE he sells more than anyone. Without those sales, he'd be an afterthought. That also applies to your favorite IP or console. Sales don't necessarily equal "the best". But, they do equal the chance to be the best by being around for future iterations.
Just like you, I don't understand the obsession with the numbers. However, I FULLY understand the relevance. ...
You need to send that resume ASAP!!! lol
That would be cool if he decided to use that metric. However, I would argue that announcing the number of people that interface with Xbox Live doesn't really allude to any clear message in terms of profit either. In the end, he should just stick to the message that they remain focused on their core experiences and gamers that enjoy them. They are working hard to expand their market and provide the best experience possible. At least that would be completely truthful and respectable. As it ...
At very least, with that progression, he'd be moving less toward hyperbole. Also, with that progression extrapolated over time, he'd be rapidly approaching Sony's marketing campaign of the best day ever. lol
But, PR is PR I guess.
Was it the same reviewer? Sites tend to do that a lot and it gets confusing. Different reviewers tend to see things differently. (though I wholeheartedly disagree with this score!)
None of what you said can take away the fact that Final Fantasy is still the most recognized RPG at least since the release of FFVII. There can, and will, be arguments about quality. I'm sure that there are better RPG's and ones that are recognized by the hardcore RPG community. But, Final Fantasy is well known and recognized by the gaming community as a whole. Gamers that don't typically play RPG's have been known to buy Final Fantasy in droves. Good or bad, it still has that...
Trademarks come with specific uses attached and also expiration dates. So if someone trademarked it as a slogan, someone else could use it as an application or a term relating to a service if the trademark office allowed. It can get pretty iffy when it comes to what constitutes breaking or not breaking a trademark. (it can also be quite obvious as well!)
Sony is a multinational corporation. I'm sure that it is more than capable of addressing more than one thing at a time. (Not that I necessarily support the move to trademark "let's play")
That's pretty much it...similar ideas applied to a much larger scale.
The majority of those ratings came before it's issues were sorted out. (which were deserved) As you know, it's a pretty different game from launch day. Those that have re-visited the game to review it have bumped their scores up or recommended to give it another try. So, while your statement might be true, there IS more to the story.
That's a yearly thing in sports games. Whether it be Madden, FIFA, NBA 2K, or now UFC these athletes always think some aspect of their representation should be better. That being said, some are actually right! LOL
While I fully agree that QB looks the part, I don't see a brand new IP being a system seller BEFORE it releases. That being said, if the game releases and is received well, it could become one. It has the pedigree. Now, it just needs to come out so that we can see for ourselves.
LOL
and Vampires...and Unicorns...and Mermaids!!! Awesomesauce!!! LOL
I think that the thing about this game is that it will allow for whatever level of engagement that you want. You can keep it simple or you can go crazy complicated. (much like LBP but this engine seems a lot more flexible)
It pretty much made the same mistakes as many first run IP. (especially of the open world variety) There wasn't enough variety in missions. The main mechanic got tired after a while. The driving mechanics were a bit wonky to say the least. The main character was forgettable and uninteresting, especially in comparison to some of the other characters that were introduced.
Saying all of that, there were very interesting things as well. The gunplay was on point. The hideouts and the ...
So, Unravel 2 then!?!? That MIGHT convince me. Until then, it's the same thing you usually hear...they gave us money...we have nice things to say.
Heart failure!?! Hell, if ya gotta go...lol
