That's not how today's "journalism" works!!! We bash trailers first, trash the demo, cry about content that we want or don't know about, then give reviews based on expectations and not what's in front of us! LOL
That wasn't luck. That was the plan the entire way. What better insurance plan than an always popular movie to release a game along side of? (Very little risk and high reward scenario.)
Wonder if they will sell tournament results as DLC??? Sure, we'll let you watch 2 days for free. But, the finals!?!? Nope, $39.99!!! LOL (I HOPE I am kidding!!!)
I don't hate them either. I just think that there are other wars and stories to tell. But, if they were to revisit, I do like your idea of making it a more "hard hitting" story. Loss is a part of war. Hell, the very act of killing is a major adjustment for most soldiers. Yet, it's rarely explored. Like you, I have gotten a bit tired of the FOCUS being strictly the action and body count.
Very true. I got really, really played out with the WWII shooters. There were more wars, with interesting conflicts and stories. Let's explore some of them. Plus, as you said, why not take it to the far future instead of 20-30 years from now?
In the imaginary pudding I would assume!!! LOL
Satire actually takes EFFORT!!!
I would say that Nintendo SHOULD claim victory. They reached an audience that was, to this point, pretty unreachable. They took console gaming, no matter how short term, to the masses in a way that hadn't been done before. It's the first time that I have EVER seen large numbers of people of retirement age enjoying gaming.
As far as the consumer angle, the consumer wins anytime he/she feels that they get what they pay for. Thus far, Xbox One owners seem to be happy. But, so to...
"Sorry but sales is never mean anything..."
Actually, tell that to a business and see how much they laugh! Sales mean a lot to a franchise. Without them, you probably don't see another iteration. That doesn't mean that lesser selling franchises can't be good or great. I have loved my share of so called mediocre games in my life. But, I understand that businesses will produce what actually SELLS in order to make their bottom line. (quality be damned!) Eve...
If only he wouldn't have had to slight the PS4 to do it. The Xbox One should and can stand on it's own merits. It's a fine system with some great games. At this point, it's selling at a better rate than any Xbox ever before. It's gotten it's heavy hitters out of the door AND added a couple of new IP (much earlier than the previous generation, I might add). There's no need to minimize what the competition has done in order to make it shine. But, I guess it's eas...
That was pretty damn great! The walk was perfect!!! The camera angles looked just like in-game angles. Plus, that jump against the wall before entering the store!?! LOL
Or LIKE it for that matter!?!
THIS is also TRUE!!! LOL Those pulse and homing shots will be the end of me...wait...they already have been many times!!!
It DOES have a bit of kick to it (which I'm assuming is supposed to be the trade off). I noticed a LOT of people combining Focus Fire with it and solving that problem. Plus, you really only have to hit once to kill...even in the body for the most part.
This is true. But, it's the range of the DL-44 combined with the ability to shoot faster that makes it so OP. The T-21 is akin to a sniper rifle (even though people kind of use it like a shotgun and hip fire). The CA-87 IS a shotgun styled weapon and doesn't have the range. The SE-14C is also pretty powerful...but it's hampered by range so it's not as OP ans the DL-44 (IMO).
I think the best thing about the game, in general, is the AI. I've been so impressed with how reactive it is on both sides of the ball. Offensively, the runs are just superb. They are not just straight-line or diagonal cuts. They actually make curving runs along the back line to try to exploit the defense. Defensively, outgunned teams will pack it in and force you to pick them apart. All the while waiting for precious counter-attack chances. Keeper AI can be hit or miss. But, I've not...
Not trying to convince you of ANYTHING!!! Just really informing you that SCUF indeed consulted on the build of Elite controllers. Like what you like. Doesn't phase me in the least!
Actually, looking at the way that the movie was received and the anticipation of a new Battlefront, I don't necessarily think it was crazy to predict that. (maybe a bit unrealistic, but not out of their minds crazy.) But, they needed to deliver...and that's where many feel that they fell short. Between the expectations meeting reality issue (people wanted Battlefrint 3 and got Battlefront reboot) AND the mediocre reviews, it was pretty clear that it wasn't gonna make that goal. <...
This was the kind of stuff I was HOPING for with the Augmented Reality on the VITA. The stuff that they had was kinda cool. But, THIS would have put it on the map. Lost opportunities abound on that system.
Having played the co-op and single player battles, there does need to be some work on the AI...especially the team AI. They really don't do too much aside from reactionary things. They probably need to program them to actually work toward objectives in each mode and react to what teammates are doing. Right now, they just kinda follow you around and wait for what you do.
