That was a crazy download. You probably got in when EVERYBODY was trying to get it. I didn't have any problem (aside from the size)with the download.
Think you describe just about EVERY FPS with the run, die, respawn, etc. However, in terms of strategy. There ARE definitely ways to play the game strategically. You have to have smart commanders, squad leaders, etc. Plus, people need to understand that the objectives are part of breaking down the defenses of the bases. The choke points really don't show up too often unless an entire platoon arrives at an objective to attack and defend. All in all, it is SET UP to be strategic, but like any g...
The mic is integral to the experience of such a large scaled invasion. I was in for over 3 hours before I got a commander that actually attempted a strategic approach to the mission. Then, I was able to see the full vision of what the developers had in mind. Can't wait to play as SVER though!!!
The only thing that could hamper the gameplay for anyone might be not having a mic!!! Bundle it up with MAG and get it out there so that all of the OTHER games don't still suffer! Loving the beta so far.
and the game does one thing right, INO, it provides the FUN FACTOR!!! Graphics aside, because this IS a beta, the gameplay and controls are quite solid and very fun. Addicts will be caught up by the upgrades system, that reminds me of Bad Company...since you use points to unlock and upgrade weapons and equipment. The chaos factor is akin to COD4 and even Killzone 2 at times. I am having a blast. Put in about 4 hours thus far and can say that it is a solid game.
IMO it sounded like one of those marketing,PR double entandras. Probably a stab at Natal...disguised as a stab at EyeToy!!!
I was ALSO completely blown away by what it was NOT!!! You know...the preconceived notion of what a SCI-FI movie should be. EXCELLENT, excellent movie.
The thing that caught me up about the movie was the subtle themes and plays on history that it touched on. Slowly changing into something that you once despised. Friends and family leaving you in the lurch. Imagine if at the end of this, you had the choice to be human or not, to seek revenge against the aliens that made the "black liquid", to actually help the aliens in their escape from District 9. Each choice having it's consequences. This would go a LONG way toward the ideas of m...
I might get negative bubbles or disagrees, but I honestly thought that news was for EVERYBODY!!! Just because someone happens to be a FAN of a certain system doesn't automatically make them FANBOY-ish!!! I come to N4G to see what's going on in GAMING...not just PS3, XBOX, or Wii. Guess I am just naive!!!
I haven't had the clipping glitch as much this year...that's saying a LOT because it was ever present in past iterations. However, collision detection can be off. I have had the "magic hand" that tackles you from wherever??? Also, sometimes the running animation will warp players 10 yards due to some "stumble and fall" type animation that "collides" with a nearby player. Overall though, it has improved on some of the glitches from the past. just my opinion. Gotta...
We all have some things that we would LOVE to see in the PSN...but like you said...it's FREE!!! It's hard to complain about something for FREE...unless it's something like herpes!!!*LOL*
Walmart, Target, and Best Buy don't always carry the special or limited editions and some of the niche titles that THEY don't think will sell well. If they do...they get it much later. Other than that, I agree. Since I have discovered Amazon.com, GameStop has become ALMOST obsolete for me!
It IS a policy...but that policy must be adhered to. Every GameStop has different employees, with differing integrity levels. I have used GameStop for years as my niche title store and I have had the same problems before. However, I have also been privy to preferential treatment (since I got to know the people at the 1 store that I frequented for years now)They DO try to "take care of their regulars" as they like to say. This being said, I am also an adult and understand that "...
Can I hate him because he makes money doing what we gamers do here on N4G!?!?!? Just a thought. We take the information that we have available...compile what we think is the best argument...and present it to the world. He just does the "research" for the investors...who probably don't know a LOT about the industry, and thus trust HIM for the information. That being said...he's not a BAD guy...he just has a somewhat skewed view of the industry. This is probably why some of his predic...
Robin Williams is one of the few comic GENIUSES that we still have left alive. Yeah...he writes jokes...but if you ever see him LIVE...a LOT of what he does is "on the fly and off the cuff". There are a LOT of people who are funny, but few can have the longevity that he has had. Plus, he is a great actor as well.
How soon we forget that people accused Sony of this with the PS3!!! Claiming that they were overcharging for their console...even though at $600 they were still taking a $200 hit at launch. What about Nintendo??? /jk
I think that those in the UK would like to put a "stop" to this before it becomes a common practice. If Activision succeeds in charging more in one region versus another, it might prompt other companies to do the same. Economics aside, that would be a "bad" precedent to set in the UK. Also, to the profit comment...there are certain profit margins that should be maintained to be "successful". However, overshoot that margin and it becomes dangerously close to gougi...
I DON'T agree that THIS Madden sets the "standard" for all other sports games. I think that title still splits between MLB 09 and NHL 09, but Madden 10 is a definite improvement over 09. The running game has changed for the BETTER and the overall balance of the game is great. On the passing side, you'll be happy to note that DB's and LB's don't have that automatic turn when in zone play...which means that if their backs are turned...you can actually exploit them. (unlike in the past...
Ummm...you're picky!/jk Those are great choices...and played all of them except the Lego Star Wars. (played that on PSP) My favorites were Burnout Paradise and Bad Company (he's right about the multiplayer...I had tons of fun....and it was a departure from MW when I needed a change of scenery.)
I am discovering the fun of the game. At first, it was chaotic and I was getting killed just about every 20 sec. However, once I leveled up and learned the controls (since there is no in game guide)I am starting to have some real fun. It's really not a whole lot like SOCOM, IMO, it is geared more toward keeping that feeling of chaotic battle. (chaotic in a good way, like some of the Killzone 2 multi levels, but MUCH larger)
