There is a SLIGHT difference between used cars sales and video game sales. A car depreciates in value the second that it leaves the lot...but a HUGE amount. The used car dealer doesn't even make as much (percentage wise) as GameStop would make selling for $5 less than new. It's just a dangerous precedent to set for the industry...which has suffered the loss of SEVERAL good developer...and some crappy ones...because the revenue stream wasn't as high as it used to be. Most of the custom firmware for the PSP doesn't allow you to go online anyway...well aside from the NEWER ones. No online is a SMALL price to pay versus a FREE game. (from the pirater's point of view)

It has been a while since the last significant upgrade to the PSP firmware. Most are done to add some stuff that is hard to recognize...but MOSTLY to stop the hackers. I just wonder how much money...in man hours, r & d, testing, etc. Sony has spent on combating the hackers versus the actual amount that they lose due to pirated software!?!? Not that I support pirated anything, but do the ends really justify the means.
This tech is a result of some very old research done in the late 70's. They were able to have someone direct a "ball", which was more akin to the one used in the early PONG games, all over the screen tracking changes in the wave patterns of the brain. However, just as you stated, the results were inconclusive at best. This tech will require YEARS of work before we see something that can yield results good enough to actually "play a game with your mind". It's a gimmick now....
I'm using Cloud because he has a good range of both close quarters AND long distance...even though you have to level him up a bit to get them. This game is REALLY FUN!!! Not surprised, but unfortunately, I think it will be MISSED by the general public. I heard a LOT about how redundant it is, but I am finding that it is FUN and CHALLENGING to repeat the story modes over and over!
It was a bit different than "Buying their way into the industry." Playstation made such an impact with the original that companies were basically throwing themselves at Sony...to be exclusive developers. They were the popular kid in school and everybody wanted to hang out with them. With that came a LOT of money!!! MS, on the other hand, were NOT quite at that status and threw money at major devs to secure exclusives. This has NOW become the NEW model for how devs deliver exclusives...

I disagree. I think that most fence sitters don't really know what to expect from this type of game. No...you won't get the full playability of the all the games nuances, but you WILL get the overriding IDEA about what this game is! I'm sure that the E3 demo was polished enough...as I saw various runs with different consequences. The idea behind the game is simply that. Either way...it's a day one for me, because I LOVER Indigo Prophecy.

You know...Sony could just subsidize the cost of the PSEye and wand...just a MS plans to do with Natal...to make sure that it is affordable. Yep!!! They are gonna wipe all of those stats clean away. It's common practice with most beta tests. Plus, they I think they have tuned UP the XP points for the beta so that we can test more of the weapons. I was able to rank up to 25 in about 6 hours of gameplay. I played with a guy who had already maxed out at level 40 on the Valor team, and restarted with a new character on Raven. I just hope that we can created more than one character when the game is released.
But, I HAVE seen videos where your linguistic choices actually determine the path of the entire scene. They showed in the earlier trailers, the tech demo, how many choices the female had to explore. I see some of the QTE's being gameplay related, like the fighting and defending mechanics, but the OTHERS are more akin to various "forks" in the story and depending on how you react...you will get a totally different experience. It takes me back to the days of Maniac Mansion and Monkey ...
There are also supposed to be more "waves" of BETA invites. I am assuming that they will add some after GamesCon. But, maybe they will hold off until Sept. 17th. All I know is there is an entire faction that is unpopulated at this point and I have only had access to 2 different game types. They gotta test it all!!!
The PS2 a piece of junk??? That piece of junk has sold more consoles than all of THIS gen combined and is STILL competing as we speak.
