I don't believe that GAY people hijacked the word gay. It was used to refer to them because they seemed so "happy". Also, F@G was originally used as a nautical term, as well as, a verb that meant to exhaust or tire out. That's where the "f@g end" of the cigarette came about...because it drooped when it became too long. Gay people didn't choose the epithets that were hurled at them. Just as hispanics, jews, African Americans, or Caucasians. As for the use of "cracker&q...

Or maybe it is proof that "unproven" IP's have a harder time selling when a system is being pounded into the ground by the media. Uncharted was one of the BEST titles for the PS3 and STILL holds up. Now, with Uncharted 2 gaining media "hype"(only in quotes because I don't believe that it IS hype)It makes sense for those that missed it to be able to go back and learn about the story and character that they will undoubtedly continue in Uncharted 2.

Most of the gangsta's that I run into sound like white, college, frat boys! It kills me because I teach in the "hood", if you will, and I have 14 y/o students that have lived more of a "gansta" life than they EVER will and by no fault of their own!

Comedians say a LOT of things that they don't necessarily agree with...it's called humor. As for rap cd's. These are ignorant people who obviously have no clue what that word meant to those that came before them. I know...some people have this "it's like saying my homie" mentality, but that is just an excuse. Lack of education, combined with lack of true historical perspective, has caused this word to become what it is today. Paul Mooney has come full circle and talked about NOT usi...

MS will subsidize most of the actual price of Natal, kind of like the current generation of iPhones, so it is plausible and likely to be cheap. If this is the critical link to the future of MS consoles, as MS keeps stating, they must reach beyond the !0-15% penetration rate that most peripherals usually get. One article actually stated that they could price as low as $50 just to get the current 360 owners to adopt. Either way, as a PS3 owner, I welcome the advance in competition and technolog...

I am really at a toss up between FIFA and PES this year. Last year was FIFA for me...the online in PES the year before was so broken it was ridiculous. However, the PES gameplay always seemed to be more representative of true soccer on the field. You earned every goal that you got...and so did your opponent. (whether they be human or cpu) However, FIFA 09 made some inspired changes and created a great game with a solid online. Full 11 on 11 was fun, albeit it wasn't quite like a real team. No...

I think that they want to gauge the "casual" appeal of games, as well as the "hardcore". Remember, it is an unfortunate fact of gaming, but the "casual" audience is pandered to because they are looked at as NEW money. The "hardcore" will probably already know about the game and have made a decision on it even before a beta or demo is released. For the hardcore, a demo is just really "proof". For the casual, it could be a "conversion"...

True....but the unfortunate thing is that the evolution of words does not stop the effect of the original meaning for those that were around when it was applied in other ways. Like the use of the N-word. It is thrown around now by people as a term of endearment. However, that doesn't keep older people from justifiably being upset when it is said...since they were called that when it meant something different. So, although a new generation has decided to use the word in a different manner...do...

Most of the gay people I know use gay a lot too. However, it is not in reference to anything they don't like...it is too things that are typical of gay culture (maybe even stereotypical).

On that issue, I think that you all missed the train. I don't believe that most gays would even begin to say that they can relate slavery to the plight of gays. Nor would I, being black myself. However, it is not too hard to see that we DO share some similarities. We have been persecuted in a country that is founded on "freedom, equality, justice, and humanity." We STILL struggle to gain equal footing in the eyes of the "majority". We are still beaten, raped, and even KILL...

This is a direct correlation to the BOOM of the industry throughout the 90's! It's just cyclic like everything else. Yes, the recession hit the industry late. But, it DID hit. Now, just like any OTHER business, they must adjust. PSN and Xbox live are a testament to the ability to make FUN games that don't cost $100 million to make. Plus, they allow indie developers to get attention and grow prosperous. Ultimately, I think this lull in sales might serve to wake up the megacorps (MS, Sony, and ...

Too many of US take THEM too seriously. I guess I can grant a pardon to those "journalists" that are "cutting their teeth" with the blogosphere. But, I think the errors in CONTENT are FAR WORSE than the grammar. Most of us will catch a misspelling or grammatical error...but these outrageous leaps of logic sometimes lead some of US (NG4 followers) astray. Guess we have to be vigilant at all times! ;)

ALL OF THE TIME!!! Every time I get an amazing game, I just sit back and think about all of the time I spent imagining these kinds of graphics and sounds. This might be a foreign concept to the Playstation generation, but for those of us who fondly remember PONG as the home console...it still AMAZES!!!

IS the MAN!!! Wish some studio would pick the Ender's Game series and make a great game!!! I think it has all of the things that could make a great gaming franchise!!! As for Advent...it was the STORY that hooked me in the first place...the gameplay was...meh!!!

Without Pac Man...there might not be a home console market. Pac Man was the reason why the mainstream migrated toward the Atari back in the day. They have since defecated all over the Pac Man name, but he WAS the original ICON. Mario has had the staying power. However, this is as much a tribute to the fact that it is Nintendo's "go to guy" for console and software sales. Not saying that Mario is NOT worthy of iconic status, for he very much IS. All in all, I don't know if there will...

What ever happened to the ESPN license that EA managed to wrangle away from the masses. I know that they have a "ticker" and ESPN radio, but they don't even use THAT as an asset. My favorite part of 2k5 was watching Chris Bermann recap the weeks games during a franchise. It was JUST like watching on a Sunday night!!!

On topic:
*fingers crossed* Madden seems to finally be approaching the overall quality of 2k5!!! The on field game was not THAT far off for the last ...

Nice breakdown of Madden V. 2k5!!! I was as loyal as they come...in fact...playing the series since the John Madden Football!!! (yeah I'm that old) However, I just felt like 2k5 nailed the game of football. (although I agree that it wasn't perfect.) Madden is finally catching up in terms of getting gang tackling (in 2k5), presentation aspects on field, Pre-game, halftime, postgame (in 2k5). Now, if the FUN transfers to this game...I will jump for joy. I have purchased madden since 2005, but t...
