Exactly, the proliferation of bluetooth headsets was at such a high point when the system released that I believe Sony just assumed that most people already owned at least one for a cell phone. I have three of them just sitting around...plus the official Sony branded one.

He is perhaps the most charismatic American Football player in the league. Not necessarily the BEST...but pretty good at what he does. More so than that, he is entertaining, fun, and a generally good guy. He does things that are somewhat out of the box for a sports star. He once tweeted that he wanted to go to the movies and anybody that met him could come. He ended up paying for movies and snacks for the whole place. He once said he needed a ride to the mall and the first person to respond t...

I can agree that they probably SHOULD give this to a fan...or some poor, unfortunate soul that can't afford a console and the game. However, this isn't as charitable as it seems. This is quid pro quo at its best. It's a purely business decision. Just the post on twitter alone is like an unpaid commercial. Chad Ochocinco is basically endorsing the product for the cost of a $300 PS3, $60 game, and some PR swag. If they asked him to do a commercial, they would clearly be in the 6 fig...

I remember playing something like that too. It cost about $5 and I just remember a gun and the glasses and wanting to actually run...though I couldn't leave the platform (there were like 3 platforms all together). I played it once...sucked...and remembered that $5 could get me a Big Gulp, an over-sized and over preserved burrito, and a couple of candy bars...with change to spare for the next day! LOL

The next "console" that I got was actually Intellivision. My Pong knock-off just had 2 dial controllers and reminded me of the first cell phones. Anyway, it's good to see that I am not the only one that recalls the beginning of the home console (not counting pinball of course).

Mine too...but the far more generic (wasn't called PONG) version that claimed to be Tennis. It also had racquetball, Squash, and other variations on the theme of bouncing a small square off of a rectangle for pleasure...lol

The analyst must not realize that the very reason why 2k11 sold so well had very little to do with the 2010-2011 NBA season and a hell of a lot to do with the inclusion of MJ. Now, with the addition of more "retro" teams and players I don't see the sales sliding so dramatically because of a lockout. They will still have updated rosters for the draft and all of the teams that one might like. If anything, it might give players more incentive to take their favorite team to the fina...

This economy is where the pressure is coming from. If it weren't for the global condition of the economy it would probably be business as usual for both Sony and Nintendo. On the part of Nintendo I think that they actually kind of over-saturated their market a bit. There are only so many iterations of the DS that a parent will stand for before they just say NO! (DS, DS Lite, DSi, DS XL) Gamers, at this point, KNOW that Nintendo is notorious for this and are probably waiting for the 3DS Li...

@jetlian...you are actually partially correct. According to physics, nature tends to go from order to disorder (the idea of entropy). So, in an isolated system, there is a tendency for order to move toward disorder (or a random condition). However, even if there is order on a macroscopic level...there is still that same tendency toward entropy on a microscopic or even subatomic level (which is harder to track due to quantum physical properties being much more difficult to predict at any give...

We DON'T!!! However, there is a delicate balance between players and owners (on the business side) that must be reached. Unfortunately, in the end, sports and entertainment are STILL businesses and those matters have to be addressed FAIRLY in order for business to continue. It sucks for us (especially saying as though they are arguing about money that we will NEVER see in our lifetimes).

Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe even have a Create-a-Campaign mode. Seriously, you could create your own scenario and upload it so that others might be able to take on the challenge. This would definitely create longevity for the game. BUT, it might be TOO much longevity. This is why features like this are purposely left out of games like this. The devs still need you to buy the game next year!!!

I think that you nailed the sentiment of the article, despite the sensational title. The word racism here was probably meant to bring readers and a bit of flame. But, the overriding idea is not so much of racism (though he does use some inflammatory rhetoric). It is really about cultural insensitivity and the Western "need" to have faces that look more like them in order to relate.
As you stated, I don't think that this was a thought out plan to "white-wash" t...

I say, and just my opinion, keep bringing the old school. If they were to keep adding those "classic" teams to NBA 2K you would have a game that can be played despite the lockout. Make challenges, like the Jordan challenges, for each of those series based on the iconic players of that time. For that matter, even creating challenges based on the recent series. This should keep things interesting until the lockout ends...even if it goes the entire season.

Just played the Plunder game mode. I got about 5-6 actual treasures in about 2 hours. I compared that to the 3-4 that I had in about 6 hours of play before that. Plus, you earn a LOT of money. I am averaging $18,000 to $20,000 per game...and I am not that good.

Actually, the devs are very good at taking feedback...especially from the forums. So much so that some of the forum members and YouTubers were flown to the studios to help with the Grindhouse patch that was released for the first game. This is basically the result of the publishers not green lighting a full release product. They just gave us the console version of the Ipad/phone/touch app. I was really hoping for a full game...because as bad as it might have been...Backbreaker showed huge pot...

I wonder what argument would be posed if I said that news was dying thanks to investigative journalism like TMZ!?!? By the way, for those that don't know, music is also dying because we now have Justin Bieber. TV shows are dying because we now have Jersey Shore. Oh..and while I'm at it walking is dead...cause we have the Segway.
The point is that there will ALWAYS be interesting diversions that might take us (the core gaming demographic) away from the "hardcore" game...

Despite what people might think, Football or Soccer has been pretty popular as a sport played by kids for decades. Since the boom of the domestic leagues in the 70's (where an aging Pele was by far the star) all of the way up to now. The problem was that there weren't any options for players once they finished playing. There weren't many American stars to emulate. It wasn't really a focus until the World Cup rolled around. Now, the infrastructure has changed. The MLS, though s...

Actually Pirate....I agree with you on this one. Though, I would stop shy of saying that there should be a law made. There ARE still parents who think that gaming is still a children's hobby. Therefore, all games must be okay for kids. Sure, there are posters in video game stores and ratings on the boxes. But, the retail people have to be a bit more vigilant. (Although, most of the times I witness parents purchase mature content for their kids they could give a damn about the warning that...

I'm with you on that. We seem to be on one accord with the idea that MW3 shouldn't be as much of a smashing success as the previous iterations. However, it is STILL the go-to game for many console owners. Yeah they complain. But, the do so while continuing to invest more time and money into the game. Personally, I got bored with MW2 at about level 35 or so. Plus, I convinced my friends that they would probably have more fun with BFBC 2...and I wasn't wrong. I like the more tactica...

Agreed, but those same "first impression" articles existed before and it didn't stop the so-called journalists from heaping mounds of praise and dolling out 9's and 10's upon the release of the game.
