Hack and slash this game is not. Using that word to define the action genre is basically saying all you need to do is button mash to get your way through the game, or use two or 3 combos like in God of War. What all the previews and magazines are saying is this game takes that standard action model and takes it to another level. Most action games have a blocking mechanism of some sort, but Heavenly Sword seems to have a variety of counters on top of that, and using them is encouraged to bu...

if only they made it so your special moves can't be used from anywhere on the screen. I mean, c'mon, how fun is it to hide in corners while charging up special moves? DBZ Tenkaichi had a better system >_<

This game looks amaaaazing!!! But I wonder how intuitive it will be to switch weapons and body suit modes while dodging/jumping around. I'd want to play through the game just using fists and picking things up while using speed/power/invisibility... someone really needs to make a Ninja mod when this game comes out :P

This game and Singstar will broaden the PS3 user base a TON. Hope they market it well, as it just keeps on sounding better and better.

The whole Jade thing is mainly discussed among the gaming community, and you must admit she's better looking than the Frag Dolls. Basically, it makes her a celebrity within the gaming circuit, and that's probably one of the reasons Ubisoft always uses her to promote the game.

if you scroll down the n4g news posts, there's a whole bunch of hidden PSN videos with instructions on how to get them ;)

watch the HD version on Gametrailers and just sit back. Its quite amazing what they've managed to achieve graphically with this game.

to get the rachet one, you have to get there through featured items, not through games.

probably to generate more interest in other parts of the PSN store, good easter egg for fans though

just think of it as demos of the real game. The real game will have more fleshed out modes like the standard career type mode, more cars, more features, slightly tuned up graphics, better sound, and more reason to dig into the wallet for the next big GT game :P

after watching both trailers, its on a completely different scale than U3. U3 might somehow stream textures better through the PS3, but the effects and amount of objects in the space you fight in is far greater in KZ2. Take a step back and look at everything that is there, KZ2 is pretty freaking amazing.

Once again, the Sony games shine in the classic department of effects (weather, look at the way people breathe up in the clouds) and lighting. This has been true since the old Playstation days, they just do great lighting and particle effects.

A lot of people will be saying how so and so shooter looked better... While it might be true in regards to texture on someone's clothes, it is definitely not true in other regards.

one of the Killzone guys answered a bunch of questions in the PS3 forums earlier when a screenshot was leaked. One of those was regarding what stage of development that screenshot was taken from, hence, pre-alpha. This does not indicate that the trailer is pre-alpha though, I too am curious at what stage of development is the video IGN watched.

nicely scaled environment, and amazingly, good looking blades of grass!! (you all know that doesn't happen often :P). The fighting just looks like the Gamecube Naruto games though, but it would be awesome if they manage to integrate that seamlessly with the adventure aspect. You lucky 360 owners grrrr

From the sound of it, this seems like it could truly bring the "wow" factor everyone had when they first played Call of Duty 1. Can't wait for the trailer at 3p tomorrow.

wow so many cynics. Of course there will be bugs and such, but what is there is quite impressive (yes, the pot dropping looked bad, hay looks bad...). But c'mon, free roaming gigantic city with AI interaction, climb anywhere that looks climbable, more realistic battles than previous games (no, people do not jump on someone all at once with weapons, its much easier fighting 4+ people than just 2 people at once). It will definitely be a new experience.

First it was girl clans getting popular and doing video interviews, next up? The celebrity video game producer!! Hey, at least the companies save a ton of $$$ on not having to hire models or booth babes anymore :P

Huge difference compared to Saturn: larger user base, better and more abundant first party games, online infrastructure, but yeah, I agree on the rest of the points :P

Edit:

@JCDenton

But you also have to consider that Sony's user base is greater in age range, interests, as well as a couple million stronger. The market leadership of the Sony brand is on a whole different level (not to mention they don't rely only on games like SEGA, but a whole l...

What are you playing every year with that new sports game franchise? An updated engine, one new feature or two, new rosters, same core engine.

These guys understand that most PS2 owners did not own a Xbox, so for the potential millions of PS2 units out there, there is another potential person who will buy their game with the updated engine and features simply because it will be new to them. (This is assuming many PS2 owners will move on to PS3, which could very well be the cas...
