I am kind of surprised IGN and Gametrailers comparisons are so different. However, color saturation aside, just pause the video when they're in the car. Notice how this time around, the wall detail is sharper and clearer on the PS3. This is VERY surprising as previous multi-platform games always led me to believe the Xbox360 had the edge in terms of texture and detail. Guess devs are finally figuring out that whole multi-threading process for PS3.
people on the ground were cheering... did you consider that maybe they're the troops you're trying to protect? In older videos you saw soldiers in different colored armor on the bridge doing more things than standing by throwing up their hands... if you've played the Dynasty Warriors games, you'll know there are some variety to the combos. Although in DW, you have up 8 hits for a combo once you've leveled up. In this demo you have only 5? Although chaining it is alright. The point is to hit a whole bunch of people in a chain and unleash super moves, repeat. If you are next to your ally you can combine for a greater super move. First off, wow this game looks amazing! Now onto the things I hope they're working on:
1) Undead Pirates. No matter where you hit them it seems like it takes forever to kill one, or rather the AK and the pistol have the same amount of strength.
2) Undead Pirates animations. They dont really react realistically to where the bullets hit them. Kind of a pet peeve after being spoiled with ragdoll physics for so long.

I don't think comparisons between time of release should really be considered too important in terms of game quality. After all its not like Sony wasn't developing games for that year the Xbox was released. Microsoft took a gamble and got its system out early with a few hardware bugs, but in the end they get to enjoy a larger user base and more games thanks to that 1 year.

They set off to show more of the gameworld rather than play the game. Notice how they never engaged any dragons in battle? Nor were they worried about fulfilling the objectives, that arrow that directs them to the general area they should defend was pretty much ignored. If you ever played Rogue Squadron, Lair seems like a natural evolution of that game with a different backdrop, which would mean it has the potential to be very fun. We'll see when it comes out!

Although if I did not know about the fighting system, based on this video I would think it's just a super pretty boring beat-em-up game. Instead I see Dynasty Warriors with God of War controls on crack! Can't wait to see what videos come out of E3 for this game.

Minute graphic differences probably dont matter to many people (look at the wii), but for a FPS game, FRAMERATES DO MATTER. Why do PC FPS players constantly optimize their little config files and autoexec files to tweak every bit of graphic detail? So they don't get framerate drops.

finally a bit more to the store this week than the past few combined it feels like! Keep them coming and keep the movie trailers updated as well. Gundam demo caught me off guard too, but it's good that Dynasty Warrior lovers can try it out to see if its their cup of tea.

Nice of the dev to come out and say exactly what bug they encountered and why it's been so late coming out. I just wish they divulged this information when it was delayed (although doing so might lead to flame form the internet community about them being incapable and such). The average RPG fan, along with the more vocal of the "hardcore" rpg fans tend to gravitate towards the FF and Dragon Quest series. Of course these type of games have a sort of formula, so its not for everyone, which is why its good that there are other games to play that are very different (the good guys at Bioware have a great track record). People don't need to think 360 fans want Final Fantasy, ALL FANS want Final Fantasy. Its the longest running most internationally recognized role-playing franchise. It doesn't matter that 360 has those newer titles, as they dont have the respect and following FF has. exactly on the mark, how much of a innovation do you want? There really isn't enough to make one stand out from the popular 2d fighters if you go 2d (Guilty Gear, Street Fighter, and the SNK ones, Naruto, Bleach DS), and 3d is pretty covered as well (Tekken, DoA, VF, SC, DBZ). 1v1, tag team, multiple team members, multi level planes, 4 fighters, flying, finishing moves... there's always more ideas to incorporate (which is what most sequels do), but a true renovation wouldn't really be a fig...

calling all the cynics, I understand there's always going to be flames in regards to rumors, but keep in mind that rumors from EGM ~USUALLY~ come to fruition. The rumor guy there has reliable sources, sometimes he posts late due to internet spreading the info first, but don't take this as just some random dude spouting his mouth off.

this game is quite fun, but after playing all the golf games on the wii, I was actually hoping they'd put sixaxis swing support into this game. I don't really care if its not 100% dead on (like Wii's Tiger Woods), but having motion controls in a golf game with people over makes it so much more fun.
For gaming purposes, 1080i is not the way to go. There was some detailed tech writeup on the ps3 forums a while back about how playing a game in 1080i is like playing a game in 30 fps, as opposed to 720p or 1080p. However if you take a screen cap, 1080i will look slightly better than 720p if you are sitting very far away from the TV, otherwise its not noticeable.
