maybe, but I hope they have better taste than to litter a game with Okami's annoying voices everytime people talk! Could only play part of it b/c everyone in the apartment just thought it was too annoying. Then again Jaffe wants to make smaller games emphasizing gameplay, here's random speculation: Jaffe + Incognito = mass creations of arcade games to compete with Itunes [ipod games], Valve's Steam, Xbox Live, and uhh... Yahoo Games!! :P
I think all the beta-testers accept a non-disclosure agreement everytime they sign on to play the game. I don't want to get ppl I know in trouble because I played split-screen with them, but I have to say if Battlefield was more arcade like and had cooler/better dogfighting, it would be Warhawk.
Also I will definitely purchase this because downloaded games only lets you download the game 5 times (although I doubt the ps3 would break 5 times for me to redownload it, but I also ...
I think KZ2 could be overshadowed by the multiplatform Star Wars: Force Unleashed if they had something playable that looks like that tech demo, while still being available to both PS3 and Xbox360. How insane would that be? We've all seen dozens of pretty variations on your FPS fair, but a playable demo using the force however you want? !!!!
it isn't exactly a deep game, its just a fun competitive arcade game that's really fun if you have a friend over or message your buddies to play with on PSN. Granted, it's nowhere near the level of something like Warhawk, but it wasn't meant to be. Now if they'd only optimize the network code a bit more so I can actually join most games like every other Sony title, I'd probably play it more (as it is, connecting to servers is hard, very few servers turn on the option of letting you join mid...
you can only play online if the server allows split screen, which generally are the unranked servers (only difference I think is that the scores you get don't affect your leaderboard placement and rank experience [think Resistance's character customization])
I have never really considered blogs news either, although opinion pieces by established writers can be interesting editorial-type reads. Although updates from professional blogs I believe should be considered news as they come from the company itself.
when you start playing with people who know what they're doing, things can get REALLLY epic. I'm not in the Beta but you can go online splitscreen (up to 4) with your friend(s) who ARE in the beta wooooo :)
Granted the $10 seems a steep extra to pay for this game, but them putting up servers and managing the online rankings does cost someone money, and I'm guessing Namco isn't as keen on doing free things as say Epic or Sony. Then again, think about Resistance and how we'll have to pay $8 for 2 maps (with different variations for amount of players), $10 to make a relatively recent game online with practice mode and survival doesn't seem that bad. I've kind of sullenly accepted micro-transactio...
Guitar Hero will not die because of Rock Band. There will be a ton of people who opt out of Rock Band due to the pricing of having to buy all the instruments, many will just stick with Guitar Hero or whatever Wii stuff they come up with.
Mildly amusing, but has nothing to do with games, just general satire on men-women relationships.
With greater graphics and technology, the line between what is appropriate to do with or without permission is getting finer. Think about all the movies being made everyday, they all need permission to film a scene or recreate a scene at a real world location. If the other main form of entertainment gets permission when doing things like these, why shouldn't photorealistic video games? Granted, RFOM is not photorealistic, but games are getting there. When do we start treating games like ...
ahh just saw the screenshot of the fact sheet, dont approve this, sorry :P unless you really care for an actual screenshot of the fact sheet which the other article doesn't have...
Yes so many people mention its from newsweek, but keep in mind its not a article in Newsweek. Think of it as a editorial with speculation and possible rumors.
With that said, I wouldn't be surprised (a bit sad though) that Namco would jump ship. Some figures this site linked showed 10 million+ xbox users and was it 3million ish ps3 users? Using history as reference, Namco probably would think its smart to support the bigger installed base after a year of their release, as ...
exactly, the xbox already had a bajillion rehashes of the first Ninja Gaiden game. This game was made to bring in that audience who never owned an xbox (a couple million people) and never had a chance to play through this game. Well for those PS2 owners who moved on to PS3 already (assuming they didn't go multi-console due to funding or fanboyism), this game lets them enjoy Tecmo's pride and joy in the new age of HD television.
Read the article instead of jumping into the comments to flame. This article actually isn't about the Sony PS3! *gasp* Its about the movie industry and the writer from a major tech site believes its either blu-ray or bust. Mainly it was written to counter AICN (a major film site) on their thoughts that HD-DVD would win. Digital Bits gives some convincing arguments and uses some reputable data to back it up (if you think the Nielsen company caters to fanboys only, you probably aren't in the...
only place this trailer could play is in those commercials before movies. Too much info to pack into a 30 second TV commercial (tv commercials require 15 and 30 second versions, sometimes 60 sec, either way this trailer is too long, although it is quite nice)
A lot of points have been brought up regarding how long it will be before mass popularity of HD compatible TV. However the HD era is dawning upon us in the coming years, and technology will strive to match it. The core of it comes down to can HD-DVD and Blu-Ray sustain themselves until then? Think about it, HD-DVD uses lesser technology and relies on older lasers, it might survive, but in a few years time when it really matters, would people turn to lesser technology if all movies were ava...
this article is SO much better than their last comparison. It is actually a pretty good comeback from that horrible last attempt, they even took the Resident Evil screenshot from the last comparison and actually analyzed it with better pictures. Good job owning up IGN.
thanks for pointing me to one of the most awesome animation shorts I've seen in recent memory!!!
I think the MG on the Warhawk is balanced so its not overkill for the ground targets. If it was stronger, people couldn't even go on ground at all before dying. As it is, the only truly useful weapons against ground targets are the guided missle, lightning, homing missles, and cluster bombs, although every bit of damage helps, so go in with MG blazing :)
