Not that I know what I'm talking about here, but what if the PS3 doesn't have a few years? What if Sony never intended for it be a "ten year console"? What if they've misled each and every one of you....
Just speculating.
Sony doesn't have 5 or 6 years to win this fight with the PS3.
Considering their early claims about the PS3, the fact that the system is still STRUGGLING to keep up with 360...some might call that epic fail.
"The fact is the first chance 360 owners get they will be back at the throat of PS3 owners so why should they not avail themselves of this chance."
From someone standing on the sidelines, I've noticed that Sony fans are much more vicious and rampant on this site than 360 fans.
Because I did my own comparison of the demos. Both systems were output at 1080i via the same HDMI cable.
Visuals: While it's true the PS3 version looked slightly better (less contrast, subtler hues and saturation), it also had a lot more jaggies than the 360. I was easily able to tweak the options on the 360 to get a comparable look, but there's no way to hide the PS3 jaggies. Framerates both felt solid. Also, oddly enough, the 360 had a wider field of view. While it doesn't exac...
I'm excited about both games. Killzone 2 has more to prove as it's been much longer in development, has to overcome a depressing and bland first title, and the fanboys seem to lay the glory of the Playstation at its feet. If Killzone 2 isn't the Messiah in FPS form, it could be a disappointment.
Gears is a proven game, not just in terms of looks but also playability and mechanics. I know I'll be enjoying the sh*t out of it.
And yes, these screenshots are ridiculously...
Did YOU even buy the game? The longest cutscene clocks in at almost 90 minutes. Apparently you stopped playing before the end of the Europe act.
I'm still waiting on a compelling explanation why Uncharted is apparently so amazin. Lara kicks Drake's ass any day.
Gears 2
Fable 2
Alan Wake (it is coming)
Castle Crashers (it's here and it's awesome)
Let's not forget Playstation trying to be like Xbox with it's Trophy system, in-game XMB, and now I see them adding movies (albeit in standard def) to the PS Store. Bottom line: both consoles are borrowing heavily from one another, and it's true, Sony may have more first party exclusives, but I'm much more excited about this list of 4 than your list of...however many. First par...
I loved the game! I agree with everything being said. I think the controls are pretty tight, and the way it handles and moves is beautiful. It's entirely understandable that Splinter Cell went back to the drawing board once they saw what MGS4 had done to reinvent its gameplay. I beat it five times in a row the first week. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.
Where I draw the line is with the people who say or act like this is the 2nd Coming of Christ. I've been a MGS junkie ever since S...
I'm sorry, but to call this game the pinnacle of story is RIDICULOUS. From overly-talky characters spouting shotty, awkward, cheese-infested dialogue to unnecessarily long action montages (i.e. the European finale), this series is in need of a creative diet.
Over 19 hours of cutscenes and less than 10 hours of gameplay?! Completely linear gameplay, by the way. This is not a game that gives players choices (ala Bioshock, Mass Effect, GTA IV). Mass Effect was a truly radical game, ...
This is simultaneously exciting and scary.
When you say Xbox is 2nd in gaming, you mean it's behind the Wii, right? Because I know that no sensible, informed individual would claim the PS3 is "whooping xbox a$$" when Sony's console is dead last of the three in terms of units sold.
I'm still waiting for my PS3 to do more than just play Blu-rays and fold proteins, so I understand why you Sony flamers are so bitter. I would be - if all I had was a PS3.
If you consider 3% of the market to be just fine.
Look at the sweeping trends moving us toward all things digital. Blu-ray needs at least five years to catch on. Downloadable media is only going to get more and more prevalent. I'm officially advising my friends NOT to switch over to Blu-ray. Stick with DVD a little longer. The era of HD downloads is at hand.
What do you see exactly? I'm looking at a desolate road in Africa. I don't see what's so shoddy, retro, "shocking", etc...
My judgement of a game relies on my PLAYING THE GAME, not how a trailer at TGS opens.
People need to cut 2k and other programmers a break. They've done a phenomenal job porting this beast. From what I can see, the problem isn't with their programming - but with the PS3.
A couple weeks back I did a side-by-side comparison of the Fracture demo on 360 and PS3. The PS3 version was noticeably softer. So soft in fact that when seen next to the 360 version, it hardly looked like HD anymore.
I've noticed the exact same look/effect with Bioshock. All TV settin...
Agreed. Bring on the Mass Effect comparisons!
I'm losing faith in n4g
This was such a blatant fluff piece. Kind of a pointless article. And yet here I am, commenting on it. What's more pointless - the pointless article, or the comment about the pointless article...
This definitely made my jaw drop a few times. This game should be a lot of fun.
Well said. Kojima-san depserately needs an editor, editors, a whole post-house of editors. Don't get me wrong, MGS is one of my favorite series. Despite Kojima's ego, not because of it.
