As far as I know Quantic Dream isn't owned by Sony. Can you imagine that he is just excited to work on a new platform. It's not like he is throwing empty words around. Everything he said sounds reasonable.

You named the two titles that In my opinion are the most overhyped ones. I think The Xbox One has some interessting looking exclusives like Forza 5, Quantum Break, Project Spark and Sunset Overdrive. But Titanfall and Dead Rising 3 look really generic to me. I've never played a Dead Rising game so I don't know if it's supposed to be a pure zombie slaying action game. But there was pretty much zero horror feel to the trailer.
I'd say those pics look bad even for current gen standards. The textures are horrible. Everything is so blurry.

You kind of answered your question yourself. The hype level would be huge. The expectations would go through the roof. There is just no way they could release a game that would meet those expectations.

It definately will have an impact on a lot of people. I probably would choose the PS4 over the Xbox One even if the prices would be the other way around. But since the PS4 is even cheaper than the Xbox One it's pretty much a no-brainer for me.

It's a Nintendo console so it's powerful enough for what it is. We reached a technical level where all games can look good. It's not like Nintendo is trying to make a photo realistic Mario game. It's more about art style than realism. However it is way less powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One so it's hard for Nintendo to attract third party devs.
You liked FFXIIs battle system more than FFXIII? I know I'm in the minority of liking FFXIII but to me FFXII was by far the worst FF I've ever played. It felt like an MMO. The story was confusing and boring and it just didn't felt like a Final Fantasy game to me. No disrespect to people that enjoyed FFXII but I just didn't like it at all.
It doesn't have to be AAA. I don't think we'll see a lot of AAA turn based RPGs in the next generation. I think it depends more on the indies to revitalize that genre. I've no doubt that we'll see some amazing turn based RPGs form indie devs next gen.
The thing is that I could afford more than one console but like myself, a lot of people don't have enough time to play all the games. My backlog on PS3 alone is huge and I probably never get to play all the games I initially wanted to play. I know it would be nice to play all those games but I don't see a reason of buying another console when I didn't even play a lot of the highlights on PS3.

Last time it wasn't that much of a competition right away because the Xbox 360 came out a year earlier. A lot of people just didn't want to wait a year for the PS3 especially with all the bad media it got before launch.
However this time around both consoles will release pretty much simultaniously. It'll be much more of a fight for consumers this time I think.

I would like to add that GPGPU can be used to tremendously improve AI in games as well.
That's great. The only ones I'm not really interessted in are DC Universe, War Thunder and Blacklight but I could still try them out cause they're free.
I'm gonna get Knack, Watchdogs and probably Killzone Shadowfall on launch as well so I'm going to have at least 9 games to play from day one.
This is so awesome. Outlast is actually one of my most anticipated games of next gen.
We could have hardware 10 times more powerful than the PS4 and devs could still decide to push for visual fidelity instead of performance. I can play Pacman at 4k and 100 fps - Does it make it next gen?
