"It does look a bit like it wants to be Gears of War also"
That's like saying Ryse wants to be God of War. Or Titanfall wants to be Counter Strike. I also never heard you saying Forza wants to be GT even though those two are much more related than The Order and Gears.
"Who the hell is going to create the next Bioshock games then?"
I think they should put that series to rest. It's hard to imagine a Bioshock game without Ken Levine working on it. I do however look forward to see what Ken can do with a smaller team. Best wishes to all the talented people that have to go now. I hope they'll find a new job at another studio.
I've avoided the video leaks but I'm definately looking forward to the official trailers. They should be up in 2 hours right? Does anyone know where they'll get published first?
@mewhy32: You mean people without internet access can't play a multiplayer only game? I'm shocked. /s
Like I said above. Two duo-lanes, one solo lane and one jungler would be the most efficient way imo. Things like a triple bot lane (1 adc, 2 sup) would be interessting but those lanes would fall behind in levels way too far.
I don't know about this. If there aren't any adjustments I don't think that double jungling would work properly. The camps wouldn't respawn fast enough forcing the junglers to gank more frequently. That would lead to an extremely passive laning phase. You can't even play aggressive when you see an enemy jungler in another lane.
I think 2 duo-lanes would make much more sense in a 6v6. However it's probably meant to be a just for fun mode anyways.
darx: "bubbles are overrated."
"Its 2014, 4k is here, and sooner or later will be affordable; and you don't wanna give even 1080p?!?!"
I'm pretty sure they want to give 1080p as much as possible but you also have to understand that you're buying a console for $400 and not a gaming PC for twice as much or even more.
If 1080p is important to you you should be fine with the PS4. As far as I know BF4 is the only sub 1080p game on the PS4 (I'm pretty sure it isn't...
Bayonetta 2 is a pretty big deal for me. I still think that Nintendo needs some new original ips though. Sequels alone won't cut it imo.
Are you implying that FFX should be higher on that list than FFIX. Or are you trying to say that both of them are too low?
That's the thing that bothers me the most with the so called "console wars". Most people that participate in those discussions about hardware power, resolution or framerates don't even have the basic knoledge that is required to have a discussion.
Even if some fanboys damage controlled a 800p resolution (that doesn't even exist) it doesn't change the fact that the Order puts out more pixels than any 720p or 900p game. Also it has the full clarity o...
You shouldn't waste your time on him. He only has one bubble and therefore won't be able to reply anyways.
However I do agree with you on multiplayer in games. When the studio is big enogh to manage both without taking too many compromises or a seperate studio is working on the MP I'm ok with it. But other than that I definately think devs need to stay away from implementing a multiplayer mode "just because" especially in story driven singleplayer-centr...
That would be a possibility. If the order turns out to be a success I don't see why Sony wouldn't want to buy them. Quantic Dream would be another option.
I can't believe how many people are completely missing the point with that topic.
You can always go for more details, better effects and a better fidelity in general no matter how powerful the hardware is. Most devs will choose to go for that instead of higher framerate because:
1. 60fps is not needed in most cases.
2. The "wow-factor" is bigger (the game looks better).
3. It's easier to advertise great visuals than high framerate (you can't see the framerate on screenshots or most video platforms).
I disagree. You've pointed out that you're not talking about how big the gap was but it is a really important factor. Also last gen the PS3 was the more powerful console overall but the Xbox 360 was easier to develop for. The multiplat games ran better on the 360 early in the gen but the differences shrinked towards the end. Some multiplatform games ever performed better on the PS3. This will not happen with the Xbox One.
Also this time the more powerful console is n...
@Lukas: Well you either cut part of the picture off or you distort it when you get from black bars to fullscreen. I personally prefer to leave any media in it's source ratio to get the best quality possible.
@ABizzel1 & Angels3785: I'd actually prefer the 2.4:1 ratio for this specific game. I like the idea of having a cinematic ratio on a story driven single player game like the Order: 1886.
@GribbleGrunger: To be fair there probably are people that get it just to play online and find out how great the service is because of that.
@Lukas:
"i always crop movies and TV shows to full screen to get rid of black bars."
I hate when people do this. You're not only getting rid of the black bars but also of a part of the picture (which results in a worse resolution upscaled to full screen). I never understood why people hate the black bars so much honestly. I don't even see them.
The Killzone target render trailer was shown at E3 2005. The game came out in february 2009 (more than three and a half years later) and reached the quality of the target render in most parts.
The Order on the other hand will come out in less than a year so It's safe to say that the visuals won't change too much other than getting polished and optimized.
