Meh, if Monkey Island taught me anything it's that ghost pirates are the ones you need to look out for.
So you ran into an opinion that you didn't agree with, didn't bother to read on to see what influenced that opinion, and then felt the need to share the fact that you didn't read it.
Kudos.
Am I the only one who finds it funny that the company who created some of the most obnoxious DRM is making a game about pirates?
You should try watching the video itself.
Photorealism is something we're incapable of doing with current technology, and the games that try their hardest to do it anyways blow insane amounts of cash on it. It's not just unrealistic, it's finacially unfeasible to try and render games at photorealistic levels of detail.
And what big budget sci-fi movies are you talking about? Avatar? Star Trek? Their CGI still has that too perfect fakeness to it, a...
Probably the best discussion I've seen on this subject is by Errant Signal:

The idea that photorealism is the end goal of games is harmful to games as a medium as so many acts we do in games are inherently unrealistic. It's why I can't help but scoff when David Cage walks on stage and says that now with this new graphical power can we finally portr...
Ummmm.... Uncharted isn't really known for it's great story. It's a fun story sure, like an Indiana Jones film, and well presented and voice acted, but if we're talking about 'rich' or 'deep' storytelling Uncharted isn't a strong contender even among other console games.
Then again, if Uncharted is your definition of masterful storytelling, and set pieces your measure of good gameplay, I guess the current trend consoles are taking is heaven...
That'd take long term planning though, EA only looks at maximizing profits for the next fiscal quarter.
And a fedora, that's essential.
It was generic and forgettable for me. In terms of the standards we set for games it wasn't bad, but that's really not saying all that much.
I thought it was a bit silly that EA beat out Bank of America for the worst company of 2012 award from the consumerist, but I gotta admit they are trying damn hard to live up to BoA's example.
Planescape: Torment was an incredible game.
I really miss those old infinity engine rpgs.
People actually cared about D3's story?
So many fond memories of shooting monkeys and moose with rocket launchers inside zepplins...
God Timesplitters was awesome.
I think it's a nice idea, buy a PS3 and you can play an online shooter without having to purchase the game.
Now if only we could somehow get Tribes: Ascend to work on consoles...
How do you associate nintendo with innovation? All they pretty much do is remake Mario, Zelda, Metroid, or SSB.
Whether or not they are fun is subjective so I won't touch that, but in terms of new IPs nintendo has been pretty stagnant since the mid 90s.
Of course there is, attention and/or the cheering on the self-esteem team.
They aren't good or objective reasons, but they aren't implausible.
Can't agree with a couple of the games on this list. I felt nothing at GTA4's ending, and HL2's cliffhanger wasn't as depressing as the silence that followed.
Plus, how in hell is The Walking Dead and especially Spec Ops The Line not on here?
Dear god... Next you'll be telling me it doesn't support floppy disks!
I really don't care if it's true as I've never used my PS3 for music, and PS1 emulators on PC have been plentiful for years now.
I can't see the Gears guy without automatically thinking what a douche he looks like, though to be fair Kratos was never really that much better.
"BO2's original game is the most content filled FPS we've ever had"
Care to elaborate? I can't see how you'd reach this conclusion.
